I ordered these a few weeks ago and tomorrow they show up. Too bad I got the old ones; these would have been awesome having the OG. But with that said... I can’t wait til tomorrow!

The flaw is that the root system will unquestionably eventually encompass the diameter of the exit flow valve. When this occurs it will then flood at that bucket.

Has not happened in 10 years. I do clean perlite between seasons which includes some roots. Roots do not grow past what they need, so if properly fed there seems to be no problem. Thanks

@@rplatow4120 Clearly that is contingent upon the species and cycle your cultivating. Root propagation is one of the primary elements of this system and why I wont use anthing else. However, I have many times had roots grow into return. It's not hypothetical. To solve this I run a secondary return line stationed at the very top of my bucket. This acts as a failsafe to avoid flooding and an indicator for the state of propagation occurring.

Just lift net pot and turn. Have it all in s kiddie pool when it does over flow. I use 5/8 flexible return lines. Im work on a epoxy floor in a basement so I'm not worried too much about flooding.

I watched your two videos posted a couple of years ago on mixing the Master Blend nutrients, and have a question to post here since you might not see it on a 2-year-old video. When you mixed the nutrients in 2.5 gallons of water, your ppm was around 650. I see charts online which, for instance for Green Beans, the ppm range is 1400 - 2800, so why is the mix ratio of the Master Blend so low in comparison to the chart of 1400 - 2800?

I am starting at near 0 ppm. Some people start with water that has much high start ppm. Been growing well for more than 7 years. Thanks

Would there be a reason to go with the Bato vs the blue square buckets

Both work great. The Bato buckets do not need to be drilled making them less work to set up.

You have a link of where you get your bags of perlite?

Try getting perlite at a local feed store, garden supply or sometimes local hardware stores. Wish it was not so expensive to ship.

@@goodwinml Sounds good. Perlite is about $5/ cubic foot right now. Amazon has some special shipping rates no one can compete with.

What is the daily feeding time?

Depends on the time of year and type/size of plants. My average is 3 times a day for 15 minutes in cooler weather and up to 8 times a day in hot weather. Mainly just check the moisture an inch or two down to see if it is too dry. With this system you can feed continuously without fear of over watering. Thanks
