Even with the government in California you'd make $86,000 a year and if you go private or get license you're looking at $175,000 a year or work for the prison system and make just over $215,000 a year. Ask for software engineer, jobs through the department of defense here on base or $258,000 a year with 5 years experience. Housing and rent might be a little more expensive here though.

You provided a salary base for California. Which is completely different that other areas . A lot of social workers leave the field because the pay is so low. I graduated with a BSW and worked with children in foster care starting pay was only $15 in NEW York ( not NYC) Cps workers are paid maybe around $19 , while managing a entire families needs, driving your vehicle into the ground, and trying to fight for resources . I love my work but wish we could be compensated enough to stay in the field .
@TheHunterofWarriors2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickwade1274 so my reference to salaries was with an msw. With a BSW or a BA in psychology or sociology, you're you're only going to be making anywhere from $4,200 a month to $5,500 a month. I do have a friend who recently went into the private sector silver cases a lot smaller and she does have an MSW and she's happy only making $60,000 a year but expects to be making $82,000 a year 4 years. This for California is not a lot of pain but she likes not having a lot of stress in her job. That is a problem with social work, there is quite a bit of stress and child protect services but if your license you can work at Kaiser or a hospital for about $175k a year
@TheHunterofWarriors2 жыл бұрын
@@patrickwade1274 patrick, as an example if you were to work for Kern county social services or department of human services you'll be making I think $3,800 a month which isn't a lot but it is enough to maybe buy a house and have a car and live fairly well, been overtime you would make a little more. If you get a masters then you're looking at $86,000. Yes, sorry Patrick I forgot that another States BSW is enough here you do need a MSW and a license to break the $150,000 mark
