Later she said to Korean reporters she wanted Glenn to win because she has watched her to be nominated 8 times. She watched Glenn's 2000 playing the heroine of A Streetcar Named Desire in London, and was deeply moved by the fact that an actress of her age to play that role. All her staff kept saying she will win the Oscar, but she never believed them after so many being betrayed in life, public and private. So she was really surprised and still hopes Glenn to win instead of herself.

And she said to Korean reporters that she had told Pitt " Give us Minari team more money because we worked so hard" and Pitt said yes, and she invited Pitt to visit Korea because everyone in Korea loves him. And she said that Pitt had told her things like that "I admire you" but she doesn't believe it because people of USA praise you too much and you shouldn't believe literally their praising you. Arrrrgh she always talks everything she wants.

"I don't believe in competition. How can I win Glenn Close? All the nominees, we are all winners for different movies, we play different roles so we cannot compete each other. Tonight, I am here just because I have a little bit luck. Maybe I am luckier than you. Also maybe it's American hospitality for Korean actors." Oh my god, someone finally said it. How can we pick a winner from 5 *different* performances from 5 *different* films? Kudos to the beloved and humble Youn for speaking the truth! We all love you, Halmoni!

As with other countries' words, in Korean, the meaning of the question "Where were you?" also means that it is nice to meet you. They worked far away from each other, but in the end, it is also the meaning of many things at the Oscar awards ceremony after finishing those hard work. Furthermore, Brad Pitt was a supporting actor award winner last year, and this year is also a sign of goodwill that Yun Yeo-jung met at the podium as the winner of the year. As she walked over after the awards ceremony, she told Brad, "If we work on the same movie next time, then spend a little more money then," and Brad said, "Yeah, I'll spend a little more," they joked with each other.

@@Rynassa I know what you're talking about. But let's just focus on her more, because this is HER day, HER life. :) Her marriage didn't work, she had to get out of it with empty hands but continued to fight for a living and got over it so long ago. She didn't act for a prize nor a recognition of western countries. She's just lived her life, sometimes making bad choices, oftentimes stumbling over obstacles just like any of us. But she never gave up, never lost love and passion for her kids and life itself. She once clearly said life is full of unfairness. That's what life is about. I really believe she truly meant it when saying she's only a little bit luckier today, we all are winners. This oscar is like an icing on the cake for her, a very pleasant surprising gift. But her life was already there, standing firm, with or without it. And that's what I admire of her.

윤여정선생님, 너무 너무 축하드려요!!! 해외파 한국인으로써 미나리와 선생님께서 전세계의 주목과 사랑을 받는모습, 넘 자랑스럽습니다. She's really a role model. It's a well-known fact in Korea, but here it is to whomever reading this now: Youn Yuh-Jung stopped acting for a bit right after her first big break because she was married to a famous singer, Cho Young-Nam, for 12 years or so, and they moved to the US together. In the 70-80s when finding tofu in the US was difficult, Ms. Youn would make them from scratch for her husband who loved tofu. Eventually, they got a divorce because Cho Young-Nam not only had spent everything she had earned, but also cheated on her and said that he can't be with someone so ugly. Also he didn't provide any support for the two sons. That's why Youn Yuh-Jung got back to acting, to raise her sons as a single mother. She exemplifies resilience, dignity (she didn't speak ill of her ex publicly for a long time, and he even said that if she told the truth earlier, it would have been the end of his career as a singer), grace, wit, and love. Congratulations to the most deserved winner.
