As established, he's not direct with his support, and whilst other members may have been there for her, he instead focused on helping her *practically* by clearing her name, with his *skills* as a video editor. I don't see why you critique this as it would fall more in line with your former impression of Aqua's character. Next, you admit yourself that medical practice and psychology are ENTIRELY different things... then state that there's enough overlap for a GYNECOLOGIST to be able to help a suicidal person's mental state? If anything, if you wanted to give it a stretch like that, he should've been able to perform first-aid on Ai when she got stabbed, but even that didn't happen. Aqua confronting the director literally WAS his way of helping Akane. I don't know what you expected him to do... Call her, get her adress, visit her and give her a massage and a kiss on the cheek?? The reason blame falls upon the director is because he's in charge of what parts of the show to portray and how to portray it, and (this is literally stated) he chose to portray Akane as a villainess to create an 'interesting rivalry'. She was basically pressured into it (part of the pressure stemming from her manager). The management not dealing with the backlash directed towards Akane was the cherry on top. Also the director was likely just the easiest person to reach at that moment (and it's a lot easier when it comes to storyboarding). Lastly, as someone who's undergone a suicide attempt myself (with someone being there to stop me), once I've experienced my life take a turn for the better, I've become A LOT more resistant to suicidal thoughts. I can only project onto Akane, but this is how I would explain it. Once she's been saved, you see her be sorry for what she's done, she GETS ASKED (by Aqua iirc) whether she wants to continue, to which she *agrees.* Her friends then also *help* her by creating that edit, as well as proposing the idea of "playing a character to protect herself". This support is what I think helped and sped up the process of her getting to a better place. So yeah, Akane doesn't just "shrug off the same traumatic environment", there's actually been a lot at play here. While I think the show was a bit fast on the resolution of the arc, I feel Aqua still cares for Akane after the arc, since they started “dating” and hang out together more. Aqua has been having his dark emo personality ever since his mother dies so he wouldn’t try to save her right away, and I think the reason Aqua was there for the very last second is because he’s representing our desire to save Hana Kimura in real life, if we had been there to save her. Overall, great video!
