This is so good to discover, it always feels like Mauritian tourism is dominated by 5-star all inclusive resorts who basically keep you in contented captivity! Just back last week so alas this will have to wait until the next visit.

Hi Daniel. I have to say, the 5 star hotels are not my favourite. Otentic is much more real and the food is just so good. I hope you get to stay here one day. All of the best 😃

@@LucyLeheilleix You bet I will ! How’s life on the island currently considering the pandemic and the restrictions ? (I have full vax proof) Also I’ve been trying to keep an eye on the weather forecast lots of rain expected for the next couple weeks?

It is the rainy season, so it is very humid and one can get rainy days. In my opinion, the best time to come here is in May through to October. Pandemic is driving us all crazy. Hoping things will be better this year. 👍🏻

My dad (Felix) is mauritian born in Port Louis but we don't have any contact, I'm 30 now and I am starting to look more and more in to that side of the family/culture out of curiosity- your videos are helping quite a bit! Thank you

This looks so awesome! I've booked 4 weeks off work at the end of March to visit, and this looks a perfect place to get a few days to myself. Im just hoping things don't go belly up. One question, how strict is the mask wearing enforced?, I see people outside in the fresh air wearing masks, is there any talk of easing restrictions yet? In the UK if you go to a big shop, about 1/5th of people don't bother wearing them anymore and nobody challenges anyone.

This place is awesome. At Otentic they don’t have mask wearing. It was wonderful to feel kinda normal again.
