I love this new format because it feels a lot more relaxed. It also makes it more interesting because you’re more likely to add in little comments and opinions and some jokes that may not have been part of original script: something that wouldn’t happen in a one person video.

Good format for occasional videos. I agree with others that it would also work well if you were sitting sometimes - e.g. in (vintage) chairs, or at at a table... or even outdoors in the summer perhaps? I think the interaction and humour are more important than the actual setting.

Fantastic gentlemen: I love this new format :-) Can I say, I'm super excited as recently I bought a Pal Zileri Sartoriale suit. It's at a tailors being altered. I actually paid £5.00 for the two piece: it's wool, charcoal with a window check - some hand stitching I think. I didn't know anything about the maker till I googled the suit a week after buying it; a similar suit retailed at Harrods for over £1500 quid (gulp)....I'm getting it back tomorrow. So yes vintage shopping is my new hobby:-) Regards Tony

As a goldsmith, I will say that you can find some second hand jewellery being sold for well under it's value, if you know what to look for. It's also important to note that synthetic and fake gemstones have been around a lot longer than most people realize, so it's important to be sure of what you're buying if you're going to spend more money.

The key is to find stores in excellent, high-income areas. Resale or consignment shops, often run as part of churches or hospitals. Versus "thrift shops". Also, there are often (pre-Covid) wonderful rummage sales run by churches, clubs, hospitals as fund-raisers. These are often an incredible source of great fashion buys. One in Central New Jersey raises over $1 Million Dollars annually for a medical organization and has literally large circus style tents full of lovely men's - women's clothing. Location is key. Once we get out of the lock-downs (if ever) look for these sales to resume and get there early on the first day. And look for consignment shops in upscale areas.
@TimothyRCrowe

Thrift stores are a God-send. Unfortunately due to my being a plus-size gentleman, the clothing selection for me is slim and rare. However, I really agree on the ties. Ive bought the majority of ties at Thrift stores, usually between $1-$5. Many have never been worn ( gifts likely thrown in a drawer until donated. some still have the original store tags on them) and many are quite high-end. Also, shoes. Ive found at least 4 pair of high-end Italian shoes that only needed cleaning or minimal repair. Even found a pair of horse-bit gucci loafers that were less than 4 years old for $5!!!! They had no idea what they were selling!

Wow.....a double-team episode....awesome...great idea! I am a bit of a scavenger (clothing, pens, jewelry) and vintage/consignment stores and eBay are outstanding sources of good clothing at a good price, if you are careful. I carefully vet the seller and, if I purchase clothing, I immediately have it treated (heat or dry cleaned) to prevent insect infestation.

Great video. The conversational format is a refreshing change! My wardrobe for the past 30 years has comprised of second-hand purchases that include Canali, Samuelsohn, Hickey Freeman, Corenliani and other respected brands. You suggested using old ties as a belt. Here's one of my personal tips: Repurpose the linings of old suits and sportcoats that you plan to discard, and also old frayed shirts as pocket squares. A hem can be easily sewn by hand or machine.

Vintage is the best thing ever. I've found a nice amount of silk ties (Charleston, Marja Kurki etc.) and vintage jackets (SIR Sweden, Turo etc.) made of either silk and wool, or at least complete wool. I once also found a pair of old silver cufflinks from 1968 (made in Turku, what I understood from a local jeweller I know) for 20 euros (noticed from the alphabetical carving what is used in Finland). They were pretty black, but I cleaned them with some ketchup and toothpaste. Also I've gotten some silk pocket squares and at least one silk tie from my aunt. This shows; you don't need to spend too much cash in order to find good clothes.

Excellent video! Me and my wife have many vintage items in our home in Athens, almost all lights/chandeliers were bought through Ebay, we have pieces of furniture that belonged to our families and others that we bought in antique shops or through Ebay etc etc, mostly in art deco style, but also some older and newer stuff. We regularly get comments about how nice our place looks, and I am pretty sure it did not cost more to furnish it, than it costs many people to furnish their houses with faceless mass-produced pieces.

After about fifty years of haunting flea markets, thrift stores, etc. all of your finds were familiar and your suggestions rang true. Buying vintage or antique not only gives you something with a unique quality at a bargain price, but, often a story to go along with it. For example, I once bought my wife a set of Limoges china from the crustiest character I've ever met. (Although, in some ways he was a kindred soul.) I was a "collector" of various things since I was a kid, and my interests have changed over the years, so the stuff around me is eclectic. I'd tell you about the room I jokingly call my "man cave" but, that would be straining your viewers' patience. I'll just say that you can really create a strong ambiance with some effort. Thanks for another great video.

One of your best videos. About a few weeks ago I was on a flea market and i've got a 300€ Trenchcoat for only 30€.

Great advice. I’ve been buying vintage stuff forever. Most of my suits, all of my overcoats, most of my watches (either bought vintage or inherited from my grandpa), most of my jewellery (either bought vintage or inherited from my grandpa). Also my China, silverware, and crystal ware is from the 20s/30s, passed down to me from my grandparents, who got it from their parents. Accessories are almost all vintage. Even my lighter. To sum up, I’m a vintage hog.

This was Preston’s best video yet. He seems so robotic in the other videos but this was delightful! More like this would be great.

I got my first suit from a thrift store. It is a two piece and fits pretty well and only cost me $5

Even sitting down for your conversation would be comforting for you guys and us. It's awkward when you guys have a scripted convo, but you know what the other will say. I like that you guys set each other up and have good questions.
