This is our 2013 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. And it is as ridiculous as you've heard they are. I have owned pretty much all of today's modern American "muscle" V8 performance cars, (Challenger SRT8 and Mustang GT) and this one is just crazy. If you have never driven one - don't hate - go drive one. Simple as that.

I never went past half-throttle in this video - just so you motor-heads know. Half throttle. Because I was driving in residential areas and local streets for this video. No open road. So, couldn't totally rip it. But if you notice the acceleration at many times - that was only about half throttle. (seriously)

This is also a car you don't really have to "do anything to" to make it great. It already IS great. The only things I did were for fender protection against road debris - so I installed my own carbon fiber fender flares (not pictured in the video.) They are shown in the Facebook photo album at the link in the description though. And I improved the front foglights. Improved the subwoofer wiring in the trunk. Replaced the chrome rear brake light bezel with black. Removed and deleted the front Bowtie emblem (not shown in this video but is in the photo album.) Very minor other things. Other than that - Just put good tires on it and learn all of the technology settings on it - and go. So simple. And watch the Camaro SS drivers wonder what in the hell you are driving when you rip past them at only half throttle.... This car is what SS owners WISH they'd bought. Because those dudes will spend an extra $15,000 trying to make a ZL1 out of their SS. Just get the Z and be done with it.

Many people (including me before buying it) have no idea what a ZL1 is. They are quite rare (compared to an SS) Most people have never heard of it. So they want to race against it on the road (thinking it's just an SS). And then they realize the serious mistake they just made trying to race against this car.

I have owned all of the major brands of modern common "hotrods" over the last 20 years. I have no "allegiance" to any make or model. And this car, by far, is better overall than all the others I have owned. Trans-Am WS6, Challenger SRT8, Mustang GT, they are very good cars, but don't hold a candle to the ZL1 in overall driving, performance and technology. HOWEVER --- the Z will get you killed if you don't have proper performance tires installed (even with all its fancy technology) the stock Goodyear Supercar F1 tires are horrible for this car. HORRIBLE. We went with Nitto Invo because we've used them on many other hotrods with great results. So, I recommend Nitto Invo.

@@HorsepowerHouse the 13 had more torque but the 17 got more top end , i guess because i had a 10.5 lower and heat soak the 13 supercharger (wasnt done with the build)

Is the newer one that much better than the older one? Is it different to drive? Or just minor differences / improvements....
