In today's vlog we made Jackson's windmill costume! He asked to be a windmill so we became DIY costume makers and whipped one up for him! It was fun and a little stressful to make but it felt great to see the finished product! We hope you had fun following along on this DIY journey with us! You can’t be this perfect all the time (or can you?) but that there is my favorite way to be as often as possible. No one is ever taken overly seriously. There are actual teacher stores where they sell those wavy bulletin board borders and tons of project supplies. I used to love buying arts and crafts stuff there even though I’m not a teacher. I Googled “educational supplies store” in Orlando and a few popped up so they for sure exist in your area

Welcome to cosplay! Where the outside looks perfect but the inside is held together by an obscene amount of tape, glue and pins! All of my costumes are very fragile as a result 😂

Sorry I haven't commented in so long, I was completely absorbed in spoopy season, and I'm so sad it's over! One of my happiest memories as a child what doing projects like this with my parents, and when I was younger they were so great at making me feel special by doing these very things! Though they aren't in my life now, know these little things mean so much to kids.

Some of my best memories from my childhood were the homemade costumes my mom made for me and now we have carried the tradition on with our kids. Absolutely love the love poured into Jackson’s costumes! ❤ Great job, Tim & Jenn! 🎉

Wow - Just amazing!! Im always amazed at how how strong you are on both the logical(mathematical equations, graphs, science of putting stuff together), but then on the creative side as well. That wood painting is wow!!!!, Those straps are wow!!!! Heehee, parents are going to be giving you both the stare creating such high standards. Great job guys - thanks for sharing. As someone who can't draw a straight line with a ruler and HATES arts and crafts with a passion, the school show was my worst nightmare 😂 if it wasn't something i could buy my kids were the ones at the back hiding in shame 🙈 your kids are lucky that you have both the skills and the inclination to put so much into their costume ❤

Jackson needs to read The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind! It's a true story about a boy who made windmills to power his village. Then Jackson and Time need a snap circuit Jr. Kit to teach the science stuff that goes with it.

I loved the costume and Jackson sure looks cute inside the costume. Windmills are very important and i think the tulips look good under the grass. It looks like they are growing up from under the grass so it makes the costume look more realistic. Gr8 Job Tim & Jenn and I hope Jackson does a good job at his event.

Great wind mill! This is only the beginning & you have 2 kids. You're going to need an extension on your garage by the time they graduate from high school.😂 I remember projects in their Jr.&Sr year. Lots of fun. Glad you enjoy doing it. Just gets harder to get on & off the floor every year. 😅

It’s like what we say in quilting. If you can’t see it from the back of a moving horse, it’s not a mistake. Edit to clarify: quilting is very finicky, precise and perfectionist. So if all these people can have a saying like that, you have much more leeway on a kids costume.

*fun fact.. Tacky Glue is from Aleene's. Aleene used to have an awesome craft show with her daughters, years ago. One of her daughters did a weekly or monthly challenge to make a craft out of recycled stuff that viewers sent in. Windmill looks amazing.

The wind mill looks good. Our good friend was a pre school teacher and she would tell us about project she sent home for the kid to do. When they were due the kids would bring them to class. They would do show and tell and she knew right away the parents did the project. She ask the child a question about their project . They told her I don’t know mommy and daddy did it😂😂

The former preschool teacher in me is highly impressed with the commitment & work you’ve put into this! We never did elaborate projects like this when I was teaching but it was like pulling teeth half the time just to get parents to remember to bring an extra change of clothes or even just their lunch/water bottle😂

If you want really vibrant colors with food coloring, buy Wilton food coloring. The colors are awesome, bright and vibrant. You can find it wherever cake decorating supplies are sold.
