It actually helps them with agility the tail counterbalances the rest of the body. I’ve never seen a cat that would willingly want to get wet. They don’t even like wet feet much, ours would always shake their paws when they stepped in water.

I absolutely lose it when my cats sprint around the house and I can see and hear them skittering around on the wood floors because they can't get any grip. They slide into stuff all the time, and have done failed jumps many times as well lol.

He's lived outside by our pond since he was a kitten but we didn't teach him to like the water. He's a hunter and he's very interested in the fish that i pull out of there and he watches the shoreline when the fish are splashing.

Actually, the cat did not like the fact that it was on the boat. It figured out it was the closest to escape/shore when it jumped into the water. That was a desperation jump, not fun swimming. Look at that tail. That's a nervous cat. As a result, some people might see something else other than "Out cat diving in swimming" there. Such as this guy putting his cat on purpose in that situation so he can make a video and put it on KZfaq.

I don't claim to be a cat whisperer, but judging from the fact that this is a boat and the cat simply didn't spawn inside of it, I'd say it had ample opportunity to ditch when the boat was initially moored if it really didn't like the situation. It may have been anxious to get back sure, ill give you that. Also, I highly doubt that a wholesome channel which has nothing but family activities and at the time I saw this video only like 60 subs, would sabotage their family cat for a couple hundred views and 100 more subs. Id rather make an educated guess from the information available than assume this man went through a whole ordeal with their cat for a couple hundred views/likes. Edit: They've another video of them trying to save this same cat stuck behind some chicken wire or something and I saw a genuine attempt to help, not an attempt to garner views and "KZfaq clout".

@BSquared anyone who has seen an anxious, fearful cat knows this one is NOT. He’s as calm as can be. Calculates his leap, swims gracefully, & pulls himself easily onto the dock, & saunters away - nothing frantic in those actions.

My cat BB,, if she was on that boat & U dropped just one drop of water on her she would have launched off that boat and NEVER even hit the water.. 😅🐈😆

Some people are really bad at reading animals. Drags anxious cat on boat "BUT HE LOVES IT ON HERE". I'm not saying that's the case, but it this video I'm seeing an anxious cat wanting to get off the boat and trying to get out of the water as fast as possible at no point does it seem to be enjoying the boat, the water or the diving.
