Lemme contextualise the 6 seconds... He was literally cruising on that last lap! He was 12 seconds ahead of his teammate, and then he just coasted around to win the race. It didn't sound like he had a problem either, so why would he do that?

He did not deserve a 10 for sure. He absolutely ruined his tires trying to stay ahead of max, which ended up costing him and Charles multiple seconds. Those seconds could have ended up being the difference between a p2 and a p3, as red bull wasn’t that much quicker this weekend

@@los_blancos4499 the aerodynamics of that Ferrari are too bad, the tyre deg is significantly higher than redbull so that means towards the end of a stint the car has no grip and perez will still pass. Leclerc was doing much less defending and attacking and towards the end you could see his car slipping so much exiting corners. Also if you have no grip breaking will be more difficult, higher chance off a lockup.

I think he did well to even put that tractor p13 in quali and had no right being p10 at the start of the race. Especially when you consider they had no real Monza setup for that car. The fall down the order was just inevitable.

I agree. I understand it is hard to single out the performance of the driver from the car, but what you say is true. I feel especially sad for Alfa Romeo because they have the worst car all-round now. The tyre wear of haas at least helps them gain some pace in qualifying. Bottas got the point due to an array of factors, both luck and skill. One is Yuki's unlucky retirement, which gave alfa romeo the leverage to try different strategies while Liam could only follow a single, probably 'safer' one. Clearly Bottas' gamble won. But if you consider Zhou, what could he do more in such a washed car that simply isn't as fast as alphatauri in both qualifying and main race. I understand the 5/10 rating, but meanwhile I feel sad because there wasn't a lot he could do. Pretty much the same with (or maybe even at worse situations than) Haas drivers.

I was happy for Carlos as well for him to finish on the podium at one of ferrari home turf, which was impressive 👍 is good, and it shows that Ferrari can do well and give a good fight for the win against Max Versteppan until he gets by.

If you apply the max performance over an average of the season, the rating does make sense. If you try to fine-tune the max performance over the weekend of Monza, you are probably right.

It still doesn't, alfa is the slowest car on average this season, and 8th fastest in this race, and Bottas should have thus recieved 9 or 10 for putting it in the points@@t3ss33

These ratings are just a bit of fun so if I was doing them I would dock at least 1 point for any driver who whines on the radio about how they are faster than their teammate (because of the slipstream and DRS) and should be let past. Crying to mommy on the radio is just the opposite of what F1 is all about. We all really want to be Norris fans and Leclerc fans but they really shoot themselves in the foot over and over.

I hate to say it, but I don't think Sargeant is doing enough to keep his seat... Not when Lawson came in on short notice in that shitbox of an Alpha Tauri and *nearly* scored in this race. In my opinion, the case seems clear what should happen: Williams drops Sargeant (maybe only to a reserve role so he can still get some experience in) and sign up Lawson.

thought he had a good race tbh. on the worst strategy but made it work. on the hards on heavy fuel but still able to keep behind the mclarens until they pitted then made some great overtakes. 6th is the best he could have done from there. solid 8/10. Tommy said he was nowhere near in quali, he was a tenth and half behind so pretty close and russell had pretty much a new engine this weekend.

George only a tenth and half ahead with a brand new engine and all the components on the most power demanding track. There is a reason Ferrari did the same for both their drivers. I highly doubt George is qualifying in front without it.

P6 was the maximum he could get after that qualifying, I'd give George a 9 and Lewis a 7. Obviously the move on Piastri was terrible and I'd say it deserved more than a 5s penalty, but for Hamilton's race it didn't matter at all.

O.2 behind George in qualify, finished one place behind him, George went backward in the race, Geroge got 8 and Lewis got 6, don't make any sense at all.

Until Sunday I would agree, he was having an off weekend, but outside of that very clumsy move on Piastri (which he quickly and rightly realized was his fault) the grand prix was really strong, another example of why you don't count Lewis out. And the race should count for the majority of the rating IMO.

The Noris hype is ridiculous. He complained that he was Faster than Oscar, but after McLaren gave him the better strategy he still couldn't get past Albon

He failed miserably at overtaking Albon too. Lando is such a great driver but I don't think he did anything great to deserve an 8 in this race.

Except Nicki Lauda only raced one race in his "rookie season" and they only had top 6 scoring on top of the fact they had like 16 to 18 teams competing. In actuality it took him 18 races to get a top 6 finish. He got into the top ten in his third race.

Only top 6 scored back then so this is a terrible comparison to make.

This idea of “he’s supposed to be there” when almost all drivers have had ups and downs with good and bad finishes. Tommy does seem to be biased against checo a bit, rates him lower than Matt does most of the time. Also mentioning it was difficult to pass yet Verstappen had equal difficulties and that wasn’t mentioned. What the current narrative is does seem to affect their scores quite a bit. Unless you’re the team and judge everyone while considering all affecting factors you can’t really have a proper judgement on how good each driver is performing.

I'd you mean full time race seat it's complicated. On merit he deserves that seat he's in. So it depends on the next couple of races and how he fairs vs Tsunoda. If it's between him and Ricciardo for that seat they may choose to wait until Abu Dhabi to make a decision so they have all the data.

Yes, the points are lunacy. Williams had the fourth overall fastest car for a track like Monza. Albon finished 7th, literally where the fourth fastest car should finish. Logan was graded on the scale that Williams had the fourth fastest car on the grid and Albon was graded on the premise Williams was the fourth slowest car on the grid. It's just nonsense. Albon deserved an 8 or even a 7, not a 9 or a 10. That is insane.

Liam was 3 stop, had he had two he may have been up as well. Bottas got jump by stopping once less even though Liam was faster the rest of the race. Logan perhaps should have gone 2 as well.

Can't help but think of British bias, Lando getting an 8, and Oscar getting a 7, while both we equal the entire race.

Really though? Remember, the Williams might be good compared to a Haas or Alfa, but it's still a Williams. Logan has been kind of disappointing this year. I was seriously hoping that he would be doing better by now. As an American I would love to have someone from the US in F1, but not with performance like this. Add to that that SVG came and won the Chicago Nascar race earlier, the fact that the main Indycar drivers are international, and the US is kind of looking pretty bad on the world motorsport stage.

9/10 is the minimum for George. He got the maximum out of the car and defended like a lion against Checo. He’s a top three driver for a reason.

So while Alex is great, Logan should not be held to the same standard, his bar should be to be better than Latifi, thats all.
