Thanks guys for the reaction: Isayama [author of AOT] originally wanted Levi to be the Anti-hero and a hated- ugly character. Basically, he did not hope for Levi to be seen as a badass character, he was meant to be the rude-mean senior. But NOT SO surprisingly, Levi is the most popular character in AOT, even more than Eren- the Main character. He is absolutely loved and adored by the fandom/community.

Levi is the humanity strongest soldier not only because of his strength but mostly because of his personality, he is selfless, cares a lot about his comrades, in conclusion he is very warm inside, he just looks cold outside because of his past (you can know more in OVA no regrets and later in season 3)

But trust me on this, in my opinion the Japanese one is in its own class. It's more intense and on point. (Not hating on the English one).
