It's lovely to see you sharing memories with the boys, that's such an important part of Christmas. It's a vital psychological basis for giving them an internal sense of security too, they can see they belong to a family, that they're part of tight knit community who love them. I totally understand not wanting to celebrate holidays due to memories of the past...after my divorce my daughter would stay with her father for all of the holidays because he had a very large family...I would basically hide from everyone and just stay alone because I just didn't want to be around all the happy - joyful people....I felt miserable when my daughter wasn't with me...but I knew she deserved to feel the love and warmth of family for every holiday...

Peter, I love it! Teaching those boys that family and time spent together is what's really important. This will be a difficult Christmas for many who haven't seen family all year....and won't be able to see them over the holidays. Presents come and go over time....family love last forever.

I love love the idea of putting up pictures of family and close friends on the tree. What an amazing idea .I will do this next year..I love the new tradition..of remembering family and friends on the tree..you are an amazing dad and your children are great..thx for teaching me a better and new way.

Little Guys of the future. Maybe tie an elastic thread or ? on both ends of the temples, adjust for size around back of head, so the child doesn't have to keep trying to keep the glasses on?

What a wonderful idea the pictures. GBY all. Your testimony is a reminder to many that other peoples crosses they bare are much larger than many. My father always gave us only a few gifts and big dinner to remind us of what Christmas is about the true meaning. Hope your day was wonderful🙌

It's a miracle with the Christmas tree appearing! Years, ago, my poor uncle didn't own a nice suit to go to his sister's funeral. He was afraid to be embarrassed when he went. He prayed to God for something to wear. He opened his closet and found a really nice suit --- and had no idea how it got there! He just said, "Thank you, God!!" Gorgeous tree! Good work, Family!

Very touching video! My family gave lots of gifts but everything was about how much money they spend and there is no relationships in my family so although there was always a tree and lots of stuff, there was no love or connections. I cant afford a tree and I tell my children not to give me presents because I never want them to feel obligated to give gifts the way my family did to me. Though we dont have a tree, I try to make sure they feel valued and loved.

Please reconsider gifting. It does not mean buying things but offering your time, swapping experiences, perhaps baking goods or hobby crafts to swap, sharing activities and taking responsibility for organizing outings together like picnics, going to local neighborhood activities and festivals. Share yourself!

We didn't celebrate Christmas with a tree when we went to live with my dad. He didn't wrap gifts, no lights, etc. So when I got older I didn't do Christmas trees or lights either. But then I had my daughter and that changed everything. Now I bake the cookies for Santa, go take pictures with Santa, leave the carrots out, read Christmas books, watch Christmas movies, wrap gifts etc. Kids bring out sides of us we never thought possible.

Lol I understand you Peter. Christmas looks like such a big thing in the US. Here it has been just a normal day but with a bit of a great meal and sometimes church. No trees no gifts no decorations. or cards lol if you want to see a tree you go to the mall😂😂😂but its not that bad

I never put up a tree anymore . The son that Christmas meant something to died . All the other children are grown . It is fun when they are young . I am old.now and I enjoy my little dogs and my big chair .
