K&S Get Out

K&S Get Out

2 жыл бұрын

We've lived in the middle of the city since we've known each other and are ready to get out! We searched for raw land for the last few years and have had our eyes on this 20 acres just outside the city for about a year. After much consideration, research and comparison, we made an offer on this one! This is a quick introduction and it may include a familiar face. Enjoy!
Our Family is on KZfaq!

This land has unlimited potential, every time you do anything on it, it will be the inspiration for the next project. I don't believe Ralph will play favorites. He's been there for Chad, and he knows what he's doing. just don't get his heart, or you'll never raise your own protein! You come from great stock, beside; I love that barn, can't you see it restored? Some of the rafters, etc out of the house will save tons of $$$ on the restoration. Check out cog hill farm for their new chicken coop. Talk about inspiration! God bless you both, I'll be back. I'm the oldest I think Chad has for a fan. (83) He's a good man.

Kyle and Shannon, now that you have land in the country; take your time to find the perfect spot for your house in the country. Now that we live in the smart phone age, there is a surveyor app. So walk around the edges of your property and mark it with paint on trees and find your corner stakes, so you know where they are. I have a feeling that excess stock will wander onto your property that will look familiar!

CONGRATULATIONS on the new property! I expect to see big things from you guys in the future, as you build and bring on your animals. Making it a farm is an awesome goal, but the most important thing is to first make it a HOME . . . Your Home! The ONE primary thing required to make that happen is - LOVE! Lots and lots of love! If you have Love - then you have Everything that is needed for success! If you have Love you have God, because He "IS" Love - and, with Him ALL THINGS are possible, and everything will come into it's place, in it's time! Enjoy every step along the way. Blessings! 💞

I'd like to see every aspect of your work on the future farm, future house building, getting and taking care of the animals. I hope you'll fill us in on mistakes you make as well. Watch “alumina acres“ for a starting idea. The big open area that they are building in now used to be six Forest they had Forrester‘s from the lumber companies come in and cut and clear the land for them. They sold the lumber and that more than cover the cost of the clearing. That’s a good way to think when you’re just starting out don’t rush in the animals too quickly.

Respectful suggestion: the "Justin Rhodes" channel. His whole purpose on YT is to be available for guidance for people just starting out. He's all about utilizing animals to cut grass, clear underbrush, eat bugs, and fertilize the land. As far as content, just lots of footage of all the work you're going to be putting in, as well as some drone footage eventually. And my two cents? I can do without a whole lot of speaking, but it's your channel, so you have to find your own way. If you want to see a channel with LOTS of excellent editing, I suggest "Sonne Farms" which is a black angus ranch and farm out of South Dakota. Cole has really good skilz.

Chad is right. Content is your land. I watched 2nd video first but now I’m on track. (I’m Vee, 64 year old retired physical education teacher of 31 years in NYC. Born and raised on a dairy farm outside Wichita Ks. I won’t keep telling you this but maybe you’ll remember because of the unique name of my channel that isn’t really any thing but games I’ve coached so my players could see themselves as well as their parents.) welcome to KZfaq! I’ll be watching.

American Guinea Hogs are slow-growing but have great "personalities." They're really docile and great at clearing land. They even love poison ivy!

P.S. I should probably introduce myself, lol. My name is Camille (or Lauren, my first name) and I live in GA, near Atlanta. I don't always post comments, but I'm pretty faithful about giving videos a thumbs-up. I just saw the link to your channel at Adler Farms and came over immediately to subscribe. I have really enjoyed watching Chad's channel -- I think I discovered him when he drove up to get Rachel and Kevin's new livestock guardian dog, Liesky.

Had a friend with land overgrown worse tha yours. They had moveable fencing and they got two pigs and when the pigs had eaten down the mess and dug out the roots, they moved the pigs to a new spot. They raked over the ground and sowed in grass seed. In two years it looked like a park.

Welcome to the KZfaq world. Your p[lace is awesome. The buildings might look old but many buildings and homes were built with the homesawn lumber. A lot of work ahead. You won't need to go to the gym for work out.

Cedar trees are great to build log homes with!🥰🥰🥰 The smell of cedar wood is amazing, a cedar wood closet will keep moths away-so great for storing woolen clothes. Chad knows how to work with wood, right? New Englanders LOVE ❤️ CEDAR LOVE CHESTS and jewelry boxes! That said, the predominant uses for cedar wood was to build log homes in Maine, where I am from, originally! My Grandfather owned a log cabin complex on Porcupine Point on Sugar Island in Moosehead Lake in Maine. It was built in the LATE 1800s and still stands today! It was used as a hunting and fishing lodge. I loved going there!

Cedar trees are great for post . Pigs , goats and chickens are great for ground and pest control . Invite friends to a Clear off Land party . The red barn will make great animal shelter . Firewood is a cash crop . Break your 20 acres down into 5 acre sections . If you can grow grass ,you can grow vegetables. Good luck with your new adventures .

Oh my that place has a lot of potential. Just an idea is to build a large greenhouse so you have food all year round. Nothing like fresh smoothies. Fresh farm eggs are a way to go also. The one good thing is you can pick a spot to burn thing that you don't want. That way you don't have to haul off what you don't need or want. Yes this is exciting and hope all the paper work works out so to begin the adventure. Always so happy to see young folks new beginning. Thanks and will be all worth the work.

I think a greenhouse is a great idea! You can start tomato seedlings & lots of anything you want to grow to get a big jump on the growing season. When you get your garden in, you can also grow field corn for the critters & sweet corn for you :) Also, your chickens will love vegetable scraps & a cold watermelon for them on a hot day is chicken heaven :)

Good luck and can't wait to see what you guys decide to do. Chickens are great at clearing and bug control. Just keep them contained if you want gardens and eggs are a plus.
