Ed woke up that day planning to kill himself with the crew. Put his hair in the best way, cleaned up his room, strutted around in a psychotic joy. With Stede gone (his pure side) and Izzy gone (his dark side)- he had no one left to guide him. When he found Izzy alive- he gave Izzy one last chance to kill him and save the crew. Izzy could not. Ed had becme morbidly jealous of anyone who had love in their lives: pushed Lucious off the ship because he had Pete, broke off Olu and Jim, killed the newlyweds, and forced Jim and Archie into a deathmatch. He just could not take that anyone would have what he had lost. This episode is so far my most favorite. That is where Blackbeard as he was- ends.

Honestly one of the darkest sequences I've seen on screen. Plenty of shows and movies can pull off dark and disturbing but not with this much obvious heart behind it. There are cries for help but Ed was absolutely crying for death since the moment Stede left
