Must be quite the key. I don't know we will encounter anything cheap on these cars. It is cool that most bits are specific to JLR. Until it breaks and you need a replacement part.

@Dave NC I’m about to purchase one from CarMax in a couple days and get their warranty and after reading the entire contract I don’t see any exclusions outside of common maintenance items (oil, brakes, windshield etc). MaxCare is an exclusive warrant (anything not on the short list of exclusions is covered) so I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Hopefully I’m not missing something here!

Crazy that it happened to your car as well. I don't think that is how it happened to my car. I also don't come near that when entering or exiting the car. I always try not to roll out to avoid damaging the bolster. I also remember the actual parts was the bulk of the price. I think the labor was only 2-300 bucks. Thanks for commenting. Even if the quarter glass has to some out, it wouldn't justify that price. I removed and re-installed my quarter glass when my headliner was replaced. It wasn't that difficult or time consuming. Window trim surrounds are around $600 each, so the majority of the cost is the parts.

@@PerformanceOnWheels Hi, Jaguar changed its policy to include demo in-service dates beginning in 2016. This was done to coincide with the '16 model year because they extended the warranty and included oil changes that year in order to try and sell more cars. The other problem was that the cars were sitting on lots and they needed a way to forecast future warranty costs. The biggest problem Jaguar had was USA dealers would "demo" the F-type in order to drop its price and move it off the lot. I had a '14 V6S F-type that was $84k new, but it was "demo'd" with 600 miles on it and the price was $72k, it had sat on the lot for 8 months. Bought it at Jaguar Cary NC. The difficulty for you will be finding a service manager that knows this as most will not and will point you to the current policy. Parts for F-types can be found in England for a lower price most of the time even after shipping costs. My parts usually take 2-3 days. Rimmer Brothers is an excellent source. rimmerbros.com/SubCategory--Jaguar-F-Type--m-13569. Also I suggest Paramount Performance for tuner parts www.paramount-performance.com/jaguar/. Most of the e-bay sellers are at the same price as your dealer. Jaguar Atlanta parts department is very aggressive at pricing. I owned my '14 for 4 years and not one thing broke. I bought my used '15 R because it was a specific color and had carbon ceramic brakes and sunroof delete. The only repair was an O2 sensor replacement on the cat under emissions warranty. The body panel you were pulling on is aluminum which is why it was "flexible". Any body panel repairs should be done at an Certified Aluminum Body repair shop. The only body panel made of composite is the hatch. The people that can afford to drive these off the lot's new will pamper them and are not Dodge of Ford muscle car buyers that want to race and do burn-outs. That's not the way Jaguar sells cars.They have low miles because they are kept in the garage for "Sunday drives". You will get the best pops from the exhaust between 2200 and 2800 RPM while in open baffle mode only (the button on the center console). Run it up to 2600 rpm and don't shift, just release the gas pedal and BANG! In sport mode the baffles are not as loud because of the engine electronic timing map configuration. Your R is beautiful, an incredible sub 3.5 second car for a unbelievable price that handles on corners and not just straight lines. Cheers!

Austin was not correct. It is not plastic. Literally woke up in the morning after driving the car and noticed. Car did nothing other then drive from point A to B.

@@PerformanceOnWheels Yeah, the paperwork only says they inpected 165 mostly not-covered areas. Ha Jag CPO is such a shitty warranty. Luckily the car is reliable. The only place they talk about what is actually covered is the CPO website, in this litle blurb... "CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED WARRANTY* This limited warranty is added on top of the vehicle’s new car warranty.** Using only Jaguar Land Rover Genuine Parts, this limited warranty covers repairs for sudden and unexpected mechanical or electrical failure, and work is only undertaken by Jaguar Trained Technicians. Nothing less. The warranty covers the vehicle for up to 7 years / 100,000 miles, whichever comes first." Also, check your computer services records, most dealers advertise 7 years, but only pay for 6 to save $1800 internally.

Yeah took Jag three months to agree to fix my car ultimately under "good will" with a 100% documented CPO in place. They gave me a loaner while they argued with each other, with me on the email chain, for months and months on end. Luckily, I had brought the computer records expired warranty date to their attention two years prior, and I had the documentation that they had adjudicated the issue in my favor and said it was fixed. No one fixed it. In all phases if their endless screw-ups, nothing moved unless I complained, and complained, and complained and complained, higher and higher and higher. I probably spent a month of full time work on it. It would have been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper to pay a shop then to have Jag try to fix the car. Total buffoonery, laziness, and incompentence at all levels. Just outrageously horrible customer service--worst I've ever experienced in my short 55 years of life. When I said it seemed kind of crazy expensive to turn their new car loaner (4 banger ePace) into a used car, they said it wasn't uncommon to have a customer in a loaner "for years." Making things worse, not a single Jaguar employee could tell me what the CPO covered, at any corporate level. Lucikly(?) my issue was drivetrain so they couldn't avoid paying to fix it. The dealer had sold the car to me as CPO, but never paid Jaguar for the CPO so they could pocket the extra cash. Its pretty common, sadly, many internet accounts of the same. Jaguar as a company is an absolute shitshow.

Nope. It's a car flaw. Many experience same issue. I still have CPO warranty. I opened a case yest because sadly it just happened to my passenger side (nobody enters or never uses that door)went to dealer and to make things worse, they told me my regular warranty just expired 2 days prior!!!!!) .

Ouch!! Yeah frustrating.

That is not true. Prior to 2009 yes that AJ serious motor was used in cars like the Lincoln LS. The current day Jag motor was tweaked and is specific only to JLR.

Only the block was designed by Ford. Other than that the AJ gen III is all JLR built
