As we document our everyday experiences, you'll witness the beauty of cultural exchange, resilience, and the power of love.
Through this captivating vlog, we aim to shed light on the importance of foster care and the impact it has on both the children and the families involved. We hope to inspire others to consider fostering or supporting this noble cause, as every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive.
Witness the countless adventures, challenges, and triumphs we encounter together as we navigate cultural differences, language barriers, and bond as a family. Discover how these bright and resilient children are adapting to a new country, making friends, and embracing opportunities they never dreamed possible.
Throughout this journey, we'll share valuable insights, tips, and strategies on fostering, multicultural parenting, and breaking down barriers. Our hope is to not only entertain and uplift, but also to educate and raise awareness about the needs of foster children worldwide.
Join us on this life-changing odyssey and be a part of our growing community, united by love and the shared belief that every child deserves a chance to thrive. I had a little one show up at 3am in pajama pants and socks!!!...holding a sand hourglass timer from maybe a game or something...they told me I would need to get him back to school by Monday ...it was Sat mind you...I was thinking I would habe to take him someplace close to home to get clothes bcuz he had no shoes! I thought to myself...I've gotta widen my network...I told my neighbor...who had already seen the arrival in the wee hours of the morning...she went and bought him a pair of shoes and tshirts...socks .. underwear and a suit of clothing!!! I am forever grateful for the help of my neighbors...❤❤❤

My heart hurts so bad for what the children have to go through. I couldn't imagine how scary it must be going to live with strangers and being moved about. Every child deserves a happy childhood. I am so glad they made it to you Peter.

To me something should be done so that kids in foster care aren’t shuffled from family to family. Coming from experience it causes more trauma cause you eventually don’t want to be close to anyone 😢
@corabeani
@corabeani 11 ай бұрын
As a former foster child moving from home to home, most of the time adults didn't explain I would be moving again. They would pack my things in trash bags, keep what they wanted like my dolls, and then I was faced with strangers in a car for hours sometimes not knowing where I was going or who would be on the other side. Unfortunately, there is no real say where kids are going and to whom because kids don't speak up and adults pretend to be good people. This is why many kids bounce from home to home -- I know I learned if I was "bad" or cried over everything I could move, but I never felt safe enough to confess to caseworkers or schools my forest parents were not good people. After all.... Why would I when from my perspective I was dragged from my home, split into separate home from my brothers, and had to endure whatever adults told me seeing as many threatened that "this is my last home unless I want to go to jail." I will say... I'm glad I was in foster care. It taught me to be extremely brave and keep moving forward for myself. My biological family (aside from my brothers who also went through foster care) aren't good people, and despite all the different homes I bounced around to, I grew up to be someone I'm happy to be.

I remember when my family came to Canada from Zambia via my birthplace in South Africa. I was thirteen and even though I could speak the Queen's English the Canadians started to tease me about my accent and the clothes I was wearing as my parents did not have time to order clothes and all I had were shorts and tee-shirts. It took me a long time to get over that type of abuse, so I am happy that you are there for these two children.

It is very tricky. I immigrated at 11 from another country to US and didn't speak English. I think middle school 11-14yr old is the hardest time to immigrate as there is a lot of bullying dor anyone that looks different, speaks different etc. It was a tough time for me as well so I can relate to you.

But had you not said goodbye to them you would not have had room for the two children from Africa. I would have to say that it was a blessing in disguise for all parties involved. The other two got to be with their siblings, and you had room to bring in two kids from your native country. How blessed you all are!

I spent some time in S Sudan...I wanted to take about ten kids home with me. I still dream about the children's laughter in the evening in the camp. Children will always find a way to have fun and live in the joy of the moment, no matter how terrible their circumstances. Bless you for taking on all these little ones.

God bless you & your beautiful & precious family Peter! 🥰✨🕊️ How wonderful that you are fostering two kids from Africa! ♥️🌍♥️🙏 These children will flourish under your wise & loving care!!! ♥️🕊️💯 It's deeply meaningful (almost like a full-circle moment), that you yourself Peter expierenced a similar path, coming from Africa to America! 🥲♥️🕊️ Clearly God's loving & sovereign hand is upon you & your entire family!!! ♥️🙌 So very thankful you have your dear son Anthony to assist you! He's such a wonderful big brother, to all of these dear children! ♥️🕊️💯 With love & prayers, dear brother in Christ & family 💞🫂💞🙏

What a wonderful welcome to these children. Skylar and Ryder were so keen and willing to share their rooms that is was heartwarming to hear. They are so loving and caring to others, they do you proud Peter as does Anthony who has grown into a great young man and older brother. These new children couldn’t have been placed in a better home and my thoughts and prayers are for them to be happy whilst with you, however long that may be.🥰

Wow! This is incredibly heart-warming! I can't help but shed tears of joy knowing that there are compassionate individuals like you, Peter, who open their hearts and homes to children in need. Your selflessness and dedication to fostering is truly inspiring. It's evident that your love and care have had a profound impact not only on the lives of the children you've welcomed into your family but also on your own kids and even your viewers, like myself. Your example is a shining beacon of hope and kindness, reminding us all of the power of love and belonging. Thank you for being an incredible inspiration! 🌟

I imagine it will be a comfort to their mom for their temporary home to be with an African parent with your life experiences.

I love Peter's spirit and that of his children. I'm in complete agreement with Peter, children are magical in their interactions! They are instantly friends with whomever will play with them and that is a lovely quality! ❤
