The Righteous Brothers were referred to as Blue-Eyed Soul. No auto tunes. Just a 25 year old man and a microphone with pure talent. He had a cold and his parents were in the audience. Bobby passed away in 2003 a few weeks after The Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame. He sang so effortlessly. Check out "You've Lost That Loving Feeling", "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Ebb Tide".

Agree..Listen to those 3 songs. Amazing vocals. Also both brothers singing "Soul and Inspiration" on the TV show Hullabaloo. Also Bobby's Shindig TV show solo singing "Summertime". Both of the Righteous Brothers did solos on every album. Their voices are totally different but blend together like no other duos. Color TV just came out in 1965 & it was expensive so black n white TV stayed around a bit longer. Ebb Tide is not a video but a beautiful solo record by Bobby Hatfield who sang "Unchained Melody". Unchained Melody was featured in the movie Ghost 25 yrs later & became a hit all over again for the Righteous Brothers. The dark haired brother (not related) Bill Medley loves the blues/R&B so he sings lead on an early recording of "I Want To Make Love To You". Gotta hear that one too. The Righteous Brothers don't disappoint...pure timeless talent. OMG, I love my brothers. They were awesome when they came out in the 60's. I was 15 yrs old when I heard Bobby sing this song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. He owns this song. No suto tunes, just pure raw talent. I'm so proud to be a baby boomer and grew up listening to these talented artists of the 60's. RIP Bobby. We miss hearing your beautiful! ♥️

“The Righteous Brothers” are considered by most to be the Greatest Male Vocal Duo Of All Time. I agree. Between Bill Medley’s Lows and Bobby Hatfield’s Highs they can hit every note on a piano. No other male singers can do that. Legendary. “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’’ was the most played song on radio in the 20th Century "Unchained Melody" - Bobby Hatfield Live 1965 Andy Williams Show (with his mother sitting right behind him) Considered by most as The Greatest Live Male Vocal Performance In History... I agree. Bobby’s use of “Runs” is masterful. He created the style and set the table that all others have fed off of for decades. 7 notes just to say the word “I” is melodic brilliance. Their name came from doing a show near a marine base in So Calif and a black marine said to them…. You two guys are Righteous Brothers. In 1983, in Newport Beach O.C. Calif. Bill and Bobby at the Jolly Roger Restaurant . I was 13 feet away for... "Unchained Melody"- "You've Lost That Lovin Feeling" - "Soul And Inspiration".... They were perfect, awesome, amazing, incredible......

Live, no autotune, brilliant. Love how he selfconsciously bites his lip in relief at the end. He was nervous because his parents were in the audience and he was afraid he'd blow it. You should react to their amazing duet "You've Lost that Loving Feeling".Bobby's sweet high tenor and Bill's deep baritone worked perfectly together. BTW, the guy who introduced them was Andy Williams, who also had an incredible voice - he made anything he sang sound completely effortless.

Andy Williams in the middle with pink shirt was one of the greatest voices ever. Smooth and beautiful voice. Andy Williams had his own show and discovered the Osmonds. Look them up big boy band that were all brothers in 70s , teen idols..and had lots of hits.

The studio version which was in the film 'Ghost' was good but this live version was stupendous. No auto tune, gimmicks just pure talent. He had a cold, his mother was watching him perform for the first time and he suffered with stage fright.

Scary to think that he did this while suffering from a cold and no auto tune. Pure talent. He nailed it to the point that at the end he he bites his lip to show that he knew he nailed it. Oh, did anyone else mention that his mother was in the audience that night. Talk about nerves. His were made of steel.

Other great songs by both ( Bobby Hatfield singing here , the tall guy is Bill Medley) can hear them both on their biggest hit " You've Lost That Loving Feeling". Other songs include: Soul& Inspiration, You' ll Never Walk Alone, Rock n Roll Heaven, Ebb Tide, just to name a few. Their music was called " Blue Eyed Soul".

You really should checkout some of their other songs. Bobby sang here, but often Bill sang lead. Both are fantastic and their voices really complement each other. The songs, "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" and "I Just Wanna Make Love To You," are really great.

Beautiful,soulful,talented 'Ken Doll' Bobby Hatfield! What beautiful gems he left us. This version is even better than the studio cut that charted twice. Check out some of his other solos like My Prayer and Summertime. They were outstanding as a duo with a list of cuts easy to find via Google.

At the teen dances in the Sixties, this was always a 'Ladies Choice'. Man would the girls hold you tight to this one. Later on in Nam it became one of our anthems about bein' away from home. "...and time can do so much ...are You still mine?"

Check out Bobby Hatfield singing "Summertime" it is beyond surreal!! FYI there are times that they would each sing solo as well as together. Check out Bill Medley's solo too called "Brown Eyed Woman," I don't think people widely know about that one, it is way good too! ( As well as their singing together.) RIP, Bobby! (1941-2003)

Grew up with moms blasting this in the 80’s &90’s must be why I was told I had an old school at such a young age???Errr once younger age lol And yeah- errybody know the song. They just don’t know who was actually singing it until they watched. Hell- other than mommas vinyl record, I ain’t know either lol. All I knew was Motown but maybe that’s bc moms is half n half? I ain’t got a clue but I knew good music when I heard it! Moms knew good music frfr no matter who sang it. Hell-we didn’t know when we were listening to vinyl- and we ain’t care; good music was good music. Period!

We have so much to thank your culture for that the list is too long for me to comment about here. I have a bad feeling about this. You are probably going to miss a lot of really great singing. This is too beautiful to miss guys. That sound came from one microphone and a live orchestra, No synthesizers. This was HIS voice. They are not brothers, They both have solo songs in their shows. Bill Medley also has an exceptional voice. Back in my day, singers had to have real talent to make it.

they were not allowed to bring it up id say, but the club they were singing in was a black service mans club that gave them their name, they loved them, race was no issue

Maybe he didn't mention they were black because he wasn't as fixated on race as so many today seem to be. It was not a black service men's club; 1 because the military was integrated and 2 the club had nothing to do with the military. It was a privately owned business near the El Toro Marine base. Some black Marines heard there were white guys singing R&B and decided to check them out. They liked them and continued to frequent the club during the time the guys played there. Calling them righteous brothers was an on-going thing, when they were on and off stage.

Bet u thought he was black when yoi heard it on the radio. I don't blame you, i grew up listening to kprs station in overland park ks, and watched soul train every week, it was soulful and super bad, i am white and are music sucked, i loved to dance and we didnt have much to dance to, i feel each beat and my body danced accordingly, i am almost 70 and still listen to motown sam cid percy sledge temptations, sly and the family stone chocolate k ect

Did you hear anything they said in the beginning? Then Bobby gets one note out and you pause, then don't restart the song? You couldn't rewind a couple of seconds? Hope you enjoyed the song and I wish you luck with your channel, but I'm out.
