Is male prostitution progressive in anyway? I mean... It's been done in films and has been a thing for centuries in real life... Idk if it's been around as long as the female prostitutes due to the whole... Fact all females were at one point basically property being exchanged between men... But after that... Totally.

Even Pat is not very funny from the beginning.

+Hoai Nam Le Tran I highly suspect that the people who talk about how it was better before have a skewed view because they were seeing the old content at younger age and thus may have had lower standards. much like we all thought our childhood cartoons were the best things ever. I would say the old collegehumor is certainly different from what we see now, but I would not say one is better that the other just that the collegehumor "campus" has changed and the "alumni" need to adapt or move on.

Really not sure only so few people are whining about the Ghost in the Shell thing. It quite literally takes place in Japan, or supposed to at any rate. With all the main characters, well almost all of them Japanese names to boot. I mean if Marvel made everyone in Wakanda white, there would be a huge wave of complaints about it. A fictional country in Africa with all white cast? That would never fly. Not sure why a fictional city in Japan with a totally white cast doesn't get the same treatment.

@comicsgeek3729
@comicsgeek3729 6 жыл бұрын
that is whitewashing, all the water tribe people were Inuit except the main ones, Katara and Sokka, which is like a 'wtf' situation. I'm pretty sure they could've found someone who's at least a poc to play them. And about the fire nation, I'm not as mad to that as I am about the water tribe, but I'm pretty sure they could've found some Japanese people(which is clearly Fire Nation's race). Even though the story is still shit, it would be a better movie knowing that our beloved characters were portrayed good.
@chrisj403
@chrisj403 6 жыл бұрын
comics geek So you're mad if white people get an Inuit role, but not if Indian get a Japanese role? That's a ridiculous double standard. Eh. I'm somebody who loves fantasy and historical fiction. The thing is, it just isn't realistic to have significant levels of racial (as opposed to ethnic) diversity in Medieval-esque settings unless it is specifically explained by the universe. For example, if the setting is a fictional equivalent of Byzantium as an urban centre at a continental crossroads or if you have some kind of highly internationalised organisation than moves people around, like the Roman military or, to a lesser extent, Catholic Church. This goes for non-'White' societies as well as White ones. - In RL, most of Medieval Europe _was_ very racially homogenous, in large part because people didn't have the means or incentive to migrate across continents to settle down in what were mostly rural societies (you can see this in fairy tales which betray comical levels of ignorance on the rare occasion non-European characters crop up). If you have fantasy settings that are even a little bit like Medieval Europe, this probably true there as well. - That being said, I don't really mind in most cases when you have a racially diverse cast in a series anyway, it does diminish immersion, but I guess its worth it if it feels more inclusive to a wider audience. What irks me is when people insist that it _is_ actually realistic to have a Black farmer in 14th century rural Shropshire...because theoretically a family of Ghanian traders _could_ have migrated there a generation ago and settled down to be farmers...for some reason? Or when, to support their argument, people dig out a handful of (often somewhat dubious) historical instances as if its evidence of anything.
@octanemain1988
@octanemain1988 4 жыл бұрын
@@merrymachiavelli2041 yeah but in the witcher they could have already went through a slave trade period causing a large amount of diversity in the kingdoms maybe they went through that period a couple hundred years before the game takes place and thus give enough time for freedom to be declared etc and making it similar to real life just still medieval

@miyuki That's stupid, that has no relation to what my logic is. Actors act, Bill Murray isn't a greenskeeper, he plays the role of one. The asian actors aren't sushi chefs, what's your logic? Have actual sushi chefs take the roles of sushi chefs in films? No, hire an actor to do it, and in this case, probably an asian because that's who would be in such a situation usually. It's pretty simple: Asians make up 4% of the population, so of course they don't get equal representation.

No one complains when white characters are played by minority actors, in fact I feel that Nick fury in the avengers absolutely nailed it. isn't the least racist thing you can do hire someone because of their skill as opposed to their race? and it's also kind of funny that they compare this skit to ghost in the shell as scarlet Johansson is more than qualified for the role she was cast as. Not casting her because of her race would be racist, wouldn't you agree?

+extremeslashr i mean, the thing about that is that youre implying that diversity and whitewashing are the same thing. its kind of like saying "nobody cares when theres male and female characters but its offensive when every character is male" like DUH unless the fact that every character is male is related to the plot it is a bad thing to have an all male cast and theres no reason to not have a woman. its a bad metaphor i know but you get what i mean
