You guys have a right to believe what you do since you guys aren't really hurting anyone! Keep pursuing your KZfaq dreams and trying to help others

I think it's a common misconception that atheists are not pleasant people. Most of my friends are atheists and they are lovely and non-judgemental. It's the super self-righteous, vocal, judgemental ones that give them a bad name, and they often shout the loudest.

Also if you dont want the pressure of having constant conversation and just staring across the table at eachother lol..esp if you dont know eachother well...then instead of eating out, do something side by side that's an activity: hiking, a church event, bowling, skating, going to a museum or festival ☺ ease in with questions..but dont be afraid to tackle important issues. Above all, just be yourself, who God made you; the right person will love that and be so comfortable with you that you dont even have to talk allll the time and always fill up empty space with conversation. Also- I love Panera!😂

From a Male perspective, I agree with this 100%! I believe that you can't really know each other until that friendship is developed & on a solid foundation. Do something fun instead of something too personal or too "close". (If that makes any sense. Lol)

Even the second date dont be physical and don't have a date hanging out at your apartment or a place that allows y'all to be closer and physical. Totally agree with P and M. I've had 2 second dates where we hung out in private and it led to a first kiss or cuddling before we even really knew eachother and then it didn't work out and was much harder to break it off because we'd made it so much more serious with the physical stuff. Emotions are always tied with those physical steps so don't lie to yourself. Save those physical steps for someone who is serious, not to make them serious.

My first date sucked! I told the guy beforehand about some of my boundaries, and he said he understood and would respect them. We went out for sandwhiches and had some pretty good conversation and i thought he had potential. At the end of it he dropped me off at home and and asked to kiss me, and i told him again, about my boundaries. This dude literally threw himself at me and stole my first kiss and ruined my first date😭I gave up on actively looking for someone for a while because of that. I was so mad at him and disgusted with myself. It took alot of praying for me to move on from that. After that I set my standards really high. Still waiting for a good first date🤷and I totally slapped. That made me feel better too😂

I had a date show up an hour late for our first date. True story. She did text explaining why she was late, but still. I felt really awkward waiting inside the cafe for her and had a slight moment of concern about how things were starting out, especially since we met online and this was my first real intentional dating experience. Didn't go too bad though....six months later I proposed and we're now three weeks shy of celebrating one year together since that first date.

Guys, I can confirm that physical touch is extremely powerful and can be incredibly damaging. I had no idea until it happened to me. The guy wasn't looking out for my heart and everything was happening so quickly that I didn't know what to do (I was 17). Although they seemed like simple touches, they made a huge impact on my heart and heavily influenced the next few months of my life (they were not good ones 😔) Thank you so much Paul and Morgan for this video and informing people about these things!

I think you should both make your boundaries clear on the first date. Never assume that you don’t have to, unless you already know each other’s, because you don’t know if they have different boundaries. If theirs are different, they may accidentally overstep yours or you may accidentally overstep theirs.

I've actually never "formally" been/asked a girl on a date before. It's always been meeting them wherever I did, getting to know them through asking questions, hanging out with them, be it a mall or their house/etc. then as our chemistry seemed to match, I'd ask them to be my girlfriend if I felt she had the same feelings for me. Granted, this was all before I came to Christ, and my last girlfriend was over four years ago, so I'm not sure how I'd approach it today 😂 That's why I'm grateful you make so many videos on this to help give me ideas :)

I think you should continue to do this approach because to me it sounds really good. I've been in relationships in the past in an godly way, which didn't work out well. They never did anything like this just moved it in to fast. After, living out my godly life just recently there was a guy who I barely knew that found interest in me. He got to know me first, then confessed interest to me. I thought it was okay to be open to the idea, but it was too fast. And his feelings for me were too strong like he told me that he loved to me in like two weeks. I knew that was a sign obsession, so I had leave him. It reminded me what you did, which I liked it just need to not allow feelings to go ahead of you because that's not healthy. The approach you did in the past is really good in my perspective, since you get to know each other as friend and if feelings do develop God would lead you guys together. 🙂

Don't continue a date with someone that you are not interested in because you are trying to be nice! I had a date with a guy and I went out for coffee with him and then he said, let's go to a movie and I won't take no for a answer. It was honestly, one of the worst dates that I had been on and on top of that I chose to see The new poo bear movie that came out, because I didn't know how to tell him that I wasn't interested. Be honest! I'm not doing that again! Poor guy!😂P,S the movie was so bad!😂

I've only been on one first date (and I hope it was my last!), but from my limited experience I would add... Do: Talk about boundaries as soon as possible. It takes the pressure off of both sides to know what is and is not okay to do with you, even though it is just a first date. Don't: Pull out and go down a list of deep, marriage-related questions when you don't even know if this is going to become serious yet or not. I did that to my boyfriend on our first few dates, and looking back I honestly can't believe he decided to stick with me after that. XD Granted, we had been good friends for over a year by the time we started dating, but I still wish I would've taken the time to get to know him better on a basic level before we dove in deep and risked awakening love before its time.

I had a great friend back in primary school and going to high school, we kept in touch. We're in our final high school year and twice we've caught up with coffee and a meal and he has been super sweet to offer to pay for the times we've spent time together. Sometimes you just have to let the man be the man. He appreciates it and enjoys taking that lead, even though I am independent and I could've paid as well. He knows that and he appreciates me stepping back for a bit :)

I could recommend to not talk about your common future on the first date. That happened to me one time where the guy was planning where I should or shouldn't study so that I'm not too far away from him, and we only knew each other for a few hours. That was strange and way too fast.

Yeah that should be common sense, you can't talk about a future with someone you don't have any history with. And also too much self disclosure is a no-no and not just for the sake of scaring away a guy but most importantly to protecting yourself. If you don't do it for the sake of scaring him away do it for the sake of you. :)

*To start out on the right foot, don't start with games. If you don't want to pay for the meal, don't offer to pay for the meal. Don't play the game of I'll pay for my half, hoping he will come back and offer to pay again. That's manipulation and misleading. It's not a good foundation. Sure, lots of people do it, but it's something you'll have to work thru and undo later once you get into the meat and potatoes of an honest relationship. Games are never good when you're working for a solid relationship. I have no problem with paying, or receiving payment for a meal. Gifting from a genuine place needs to be accepted, with both parties. Don't cheat someone of their blessing. *Not everyone can pay for a semi-expensive meal. That doesn't mean they're unfit for dating. Even poor people deserve to have a partner. Only each party can determine what level of lifestyle they're prepared to accept. Not everyone's seeking the same thing. At least a man will have the assurance of knowing that his date isn't just out for his money. *TMI is never good on a first date if you're looking for a quality person. TMI on a first date attracts others who can exploit you for your weaknesses. They'll smell that like a shark when there's blood in the water. People who become emotionally naked right off, without allowing trust and a bond to form first, usually screams of desperation and insecurity. Generally, it's a flashing billboard saying you're looking for a codependent partner. *I agree, don't make the mistake of monopolizing the conversation and sell yourself as if you're a sales person selling a used car. If he/she likes you, they'll like you for you, and you don't have to convince them of anything. Either you vibe or you don't. If it's not right, don't try to force it. *Phones are usually rude at dinner. Sometimes there's circumstances that warrant such usage, but it's a good idea to not do so, if possible.

There wasn't anything said about online first dates, and since I have recent experience, I can offer some do's that worked for me. - Do: plan a similar meal. My date and I both made a pasta dish, but we each added our own separate twists and revealed our creative genius that night. The personal twists is optional, but a fun way to make the night interesting. - Do: help the conversation flow with pre-made guided questions. About a year before I even started online dating, I made a jar full of slips of paper with questions written on them--some light-hearted and basic and others more serious and future-focused--for both people to answer, all pulled at random. There were some small games, challenges, and activities for to do as well, just for fun. He gave very mature and well-thought out answers, and he was willing to play along with the silly things. Being ingenuitive and having a variety of things to do kept the date insightful and entertaining. - Do: Listen attentively and respond with respect. What I appreciated about my date is that he leaned in and kept eye contact while I talked, and to whatever I said he replied with either positive or neutral comments. I did likewise, and we both enjoyed each other's genuine interest. - Do: be patient with the technology. We all know electronic devices can get funky, but it's okay; it may delay the date a bit, but it shouldn't lessen the quality of your time together. Those are my thoughts. I hope they help. 😊

YAY! It's a shock to be the first patron to be called out! Glad to be supporting. :D On my very first EVER date, I tried to not make it a huge deal. Just going out for a meal and talking. But once we got there and ate, it was really awkward, and the time went by a lot faster than planned. It would have been better if I had planned something fun (but not too expensive) before the meal to make things less awkward and fill more time. So, my 1st date advice would be to not just plan for a meal. :D

Zogly, hmm let’s see... I know I’ve been watching them for over a year now. I think one of their videos just popped up in my suggestions feed one day and I subscribed after just one video. I agree that Paul and Morgan are a huge blessing. I found it extremely refreshing and encouraging to hear Christians really striving to follow Christ, not just believe in Him and call it a day. This might sound funny, but it also gave me hope. Seeing Paul be such a strong Christ centered man with high values and morals in relationships and life reminded me that there are great guys out there. How did you first find their videos? Curious, where does the Zogly come from? P&M said your name is Samual? You don’t have to answer I was just wondering. Personal info in KZfaq comments section is something to be cautious of for sure.

Hannah Dare I originally saw a video or two by them because a friend liked what they had to say about a topic we were discussing. I didn’t really start watching them till February or March of this year though. Several of their videos were more relevant at that point. Like you, I enjoyed their messages, but also just watching a Godly christian couple work together to talk about a topic and laugh, joke, and have fun with each other in the process. The name Zogly is a username that little 2008 me made up when the username I wanted for a game was already taken. It has stuck and become my online name. And yes, Samuel is my actual name. 🙂

Hi Paul & Morgan! I have a question that’s been on my heart. My past is the same as Morgan’s in the context of relationships and sin - now I am completely free and even the pastor in church stopped the service to tell me God was saying I was pure now (he didn’t know about anything by the way), but the guy I’m interested in obviously wants to marry a virgin. We’ve talked about it and he said it’s something he can deal with but it really hurts him knowing if we did marry, he’d never get that experience. Would you and Paul have any advice for him? Besides forgiveness, I think he’s struggling with the physical aspect, and how it wouldn’t be my first time experiencing that (in truth I can’t even really remember anything that happened though.) I know this is an intimate question and apologize for that, but I feel a lot of people are struggling with the concept of the other person experiencing it before them. Also sorry if that’s really badly explained! You guys are such inspirations to me and everytime I watch I feel closer to my Jesus 💛 thank you endlessly!

I'm a Christian guy and I, at one point, struggled with that concept as well. I couldn't stand the thought of the girl I liked being with someone else and it honestly made me feel insecure about many things and made me doubt if our connection was as special to her as it was to me. However, I was talking to my sister about it, and she said that Jesus can redeem anything. That completely changed my entire view. Jesus doesn't say "Hey I'll redeem your life" but then add an asterisk when it comes to sexual sin and say "Uh except for that ... you going to have to handle that on your own." Regardless, I think it's a matter of personal conviction, but my mind was changed which doesn't mean his can't either.

Great video once again. I only have a few comments on the first date. First of all, I have never understood why people want to go to a movie theatre to watch a movie for a first or second date. There is absolutely no conversation and no interaction while watching a movie during a first or second date. If you are in a committed relationship, then yes, I can see why dating couples would want to watch a movie together. On another note, even though I am a guy myself, I would like to encourage guys not to tell a girl "I will call or text you soon" if you absolutely know that you have no real desire to go out with her again. Merely say, "It was nice meeting you." Be real, while remaining a gentleman.

Don't: - Have a wondering eye (extremely rude to ask a woman on a date, then check out every woman in eye range in front of your date) - Lie about your physical appearance or things that could be a deal breaker (kids, separated but not divorced, smoking, drugs, etc.) - Play games after the date. If you liked them, ask them out again on the date or no more than a day later. Don't sit for a week and then ask because the other person would think your not that interested, desperate or playing games. - Go to a movie, you can't talk and get to know each other. Do's: - Compliment your date on something (smile, hair, outfit, whatever. It just shows you have an interest) obviously don't if you are not interested. - Check to see if they got home safely if you did not pick them up. - Don't assume she doesn't like you (if she paid her 1/2, didn't kiss you, didn't sleep with you, etc.). She may like you but is independent and have values/morals. - Do an activity, it helps break the ice and your doing something together vs. talking at each other. You talk during the activity and it becomes easier to get a bite to eat after. Then you both can talk about what you both just did and feel more comfortable to talk in general.

Johanna *-* Honestly, I’m not sure I would like it either, but it’s what my Dad wants and I want to honor him in that. It’s just that I’m not sure how that will work logistically. For example: at college my Dad won’t know the guys that may ask me on a date, and how am I going to be like; sorry you have to ask my Dad first. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Idk it’s just confusing lol. I’m praying God will work it out so the guy is already familiar with my family prior to possibly asking me out.

Mariam H.V. Yes, I kinda agree that’s it’s a good idea. I’m just confused as to how that will practically play out. 😬 But, I can totally understand how if guys have to go through my Dad (who only wants to protect me) it could potentially save me from a lot of emotional pain. Also, do you think it depends on the age of the girl?
@mariam9635

Haven Asnip I feel like it would only work out if your dad knew the guy first because then he would know his intentions and stuff like that. Maybe after your dad got to know the guy then he could tell you whether or not he thinks you should got out with him. Again, if your dad is wise and has discernment he would be able to do a good job at this. As to age, I don’t really think it matters unless your dad is clearly being unreasonable and your an adult.

My experience: A friend of mine wanted to go out to dinner with me, I talked him into getting coffee instead (I wasn’t interested in dating him but I wanted to be courteous since he was bold enough to ask me out). Day of, he showed up (later than me, and I was already a few minutes late), didn’t get anything (I already bought my drink before he arrived so he wouldn’t have the chance to pay for me - again, I wanted to make it clear that I wasn’t interested in dating him), and showed up in baggy jeans and A SWEATSHIRT (in the summer lol). I know it’s not really that big of a deal, BUT if you’re going to go out of your way to ask someone out, even if they defer to it being more of a casual thing, make sure you look put together!! I DEFINITELY was put off by the clear lack of effort that went into getting ready to meet up with me...again, it sounds dumb, but the little things DO matter! A little effort goes a long way :)

Money has nothing to do with if you should be in a relationship...sure, it's a consideration because eventually your finances would be tied if the relationship is long-term...but on a first date, that shouldn't be a thought. Men shouldn't be expected to pay, that's ridiculous. And Panera is fine...you don't need to spend a lot (or even anything at all) on a first date. Also, physical boundaries are up to the individual...if they want to get physical on the first date, that's up to them. If you don't want to get physical, that's also fine.

I feel you on that because just recently again there was a guy I met and he got obsessed with me after two weeks of knowing him. Because you already tried to give him a chance, which is nice but you don't want to wait longer as it would just hurt more that way. He should bounce back as time goes by, which the good thing is that it has only been a few months so he shouldn't suffer too much, plus the bonus is that he will grow stronger in His faith in Christ.
