As a kid at school I was very much like Luke. There's always behaviour for a reason but teachers are too self absorbed in getting an apology rather than addressing why the individual is stressed.

She is the best teacher there I think. When the deputy head brought up Luke's grandfather in such a casual way...I would've gotten just as angry as Luke. When the head of year brought up family she did it much less bluntly and overall was more sensitive about it. The problems in this school are not because of the students

Not really. Theyre exams seem easy af. Ive seen people on here struggle to do 12 divided by 3. Then now we are having to do algebra in like y7 which seems impossible for them in y11

Not going to lie, I hate how the teachers treat Luke. It’s actually disgusting “he’s unteachable” how dare they put everything on to him and not think “he needs HELP” instead everyone saying ‘the day is ruined because of you’,‘that’s not a smart decision’,’we cant DEAL with you’, LAUGHING AT HIM etc. It’s so horrible no wonder he thinks everyone hates him, he’s going though so much at home already and just because the head teacher was able to deal with it at 16 doesn’t mean Luke should be able to. Anonymous 2357 if you don’t have patience you shouldn’t be a teacher ngl. Teachers frontal lobe is developed, teens aren’t and there fore sometimes physically can’t be responsible or make the right choices because they’re still learning choices, outcomes and copping mechanisms

Currently sat in lockdown feeling awful for Luke. That teacher saying his dad died when he was young shouldn’t compare it. People deal with situations differently and Luke clearly has a lot of anger anyway. And the teacher saying he called her a name as he left was wrong and she knew it, hence she couldn’t actually name what he’d supposedly called her. Poor Luke :(

36:17 Absolutely do not agree with this. Luke was obviously still suffering emotionally about the death of his grand-dad and it is 100% not okay to expect him to act a certain way in response to it. Everybody deals with these things differently. Some people feel like they're life is meaningless after loosing a loved one and tend to press the self destruct button. I just wish the teachers were abit more empathetic about it. It seems to me that some of the teachers just didn't like him, which is understandable due to his destructive behaviour, but i think they should have just realized the reasons why, and not have taken any of it personally whatsoever. I think the head teachers comments just rubbed me the wrong way. Was so glad to hear that he passed his GCSEs.

it annoys me how the school system treat people like Luke. Specially mocking him behind close doors it just shows the pettiness of teachers and how the act towards troubled students. Also in situations like Luke's they then talk down to him and are above him constantly he needs to be talk to at the same level and he could of responded and bonded with those teachers in a different way instead of thinking they are always against him looking for every opportunity's to throw him out. Pisses me off, school system cheats kids like him looking for the best grades and ignoring people that struggle.

pa9a thats the difference between college and secondary. I went to college in year 10, and had teachers and learning mentors who spoke to me at the same level didn’t speak down to me.. I left with six GCSEs I would’ve never had if I stayed in mainstream school

He's not interested in good grades, though, is he? He's interested in seeking attention and getting his own way. Students like him interfere with every other child in the class and the school. I think the true crime is that kids like him steal, yes steal, the resources that taxpayers pay for to benefit every child. These schools worry more about coddling troublemakers than meeting educational standards. Everyone has problems and heartbreaks; that's no excuse for his behavior.

Moe Glos yea Moe I agree mostly to that as I’m in 2nd year of 6th form now and at the start I realised that there was a difference to how they treated you however at the start of this year I wasn’t doing so well and this lead to a series of meeting which is standard procedure apparently but the senior members of staff treated me like shit just because a few bad exams, just shows how they only care for good results and don’t give a flying fuck for people struggling

deaconsmom2000 true but he needs to be talk to outside of class as that teacher said he’s academically bright so if the school got under his behaviour and helped him he would be less inclined to go against teachers, he does it to get help and he wasn’t getting it he was getting backlash and punishment

I think that teachers hallucinating cos luke didn’t say a name under his breath and he’s having a breakdown or anxiety attack and she’s just there like “I want to talk to you. Come back when u are calm” shut up and become a good teacher 🙄. Edited: thanks for the likes ❤️

Yep, all she cared about was getting an apology for supposedly calling her a name. If, say, you're a therapist and your client gets wound up and calls you a name, you don't demand an apology! You let it slide because you can see the person has emotional issues. You focus on the real problem at hand. If anyone wanted an update on both Sky and Liam: They are both around 26 now and broke up not long after the show aired. I couldn’t find out much about Liam but I don’t think he sees his son anymore. Sky’s son is now 9 and she had a daughter named Nylah!

When I started developing depression and my grades got worse and worse everyone thought I was just lazy including my parents. I had to get diagnosed for anyone to take my condition seriously. It's upsetting how high achievers are just expected to do well.

The sports teacher was wonderful here, compassionate and understanding yet she as respectful of her colleagues. She could see through his anger and frustration putting it down to hurt and outside of school situations.

It's crazy how much watching these makes you realise how bad secondary school actually was, and we just let it happen. We were walked all over like doormats by people who thought they were better than us just because they were older, we were expected to respect them unconditionally and obey their every command, or else be threatened with punishment until we went along with it. And, yes, we rebelled. Of course we did, but that didn't mean we were bad, or we didn't want to learn. It meant we were sick of it. The scary part is that it took me four years to even realise this. We don't respect kids as humans, more like pets or robots we're trying to fit into perfect little boxes, without even entertaining the idea that they have thoughts and feelings of their own, or trying some different styles of education now and then to figure out what suits each child. But nothing is ever going to be done about this, because we, as adults, care more about keeping the status quo than caring for our future.
