Sushant is way better than varun. Not even if i include badlapur, that was a good movie and was good because of Nawaz. I could see why the struggle is real in bollywood.

Even if her performance was bad in first few films, she was very famous from start bcos people loved her in SOTY and that's how she got more and more roles. And even if her father did provide her roles is no reason to hate her. So it's not justified

I really liked her in Highway even though I found her okay in SOTY. It has not been universally established that she was bad in Highway, and she has kept getting better ever since. A serious director, such as Imtiaz does not offer roles to just about anyone because of a famous surname. He does because he sees potential in an actor. And also, Alia Bhatt worked because people wanted to see her. It's a business after all. It's the prerogative of the producer and director who they want in their movie. It's their money, and they will make decisions they think are right, to recover their costs and make profit. If you don't like someone, don't watch them. This hue and cry about nepotism is hilarious and logically flawed.

In Highway, she was good. The acting and screen presence worked for me. Her childlike nature suited the role. There is something that works in her charm and naturality. And yes as aman mentioned, Imtiaz Ali chooses his actors based on something he sees in them. About SOTY, even though people comment about her performance in soty, that was the exact way she was expected to portray the role. Watch any hrithik, kareena movie of a similar style, ull see that the best actors were made to act like that depending on the direction and yes they did much worse than alia. One issue was that they overacted but the main thing is that it was expected of them. By SOTY standards, she did justice. She was expected to do a role similar to Pooh in k3g. And there r people who loved Pooh's role(not me) I think we give Alia a hard time just bcoz her behavior is a little loud and seems of a different class even though she doesn't intend to come across like that. And then we immediately correlate that to nepotism.

I think alia is a better actress than others cause she is more adaptable and more diverse in her performance , and it's not like Karan made alia , alia did very different movies where there was no Karan.

Maybe because he worked with him the most. And he knows him more. Unlike Zoya and imtiyaz who didn't know him closely. And even if he doesn't act well he might be an easy crier. That's why I didn't find it weird.

You can't name one good crying scene from his filmography, or even just a good scene for that matter. Also, if he was an easy crier, it'd have been visible on screen, which has never been the case

Being able to act and emote appropriately are the the last thing on Karan's mind. All he cares about is that you look good, are liked by the public and preferably have a famous surname.

Are you serious?? Which actresses are "above average" according to you then?? She can do anything from a Barfi to a Mary Kom to a Saat Khoon Maaf...the list goes on. You're underestimating her acting skills! Alia, Deepika, Kareena, etc. could never pull off a Barfi...to say the least. I don't understand how anyone could rank them above Priyanka. Don't really think that any actress that can do jhilmil's role in barfi, Susanna in 7 khoon maaf, Mary Kom, Kashibai in bajirao mastani etc is an overrated actress. She's a phenomenal actress. Imtiaz himself said he's rating her last since she's the only one he hasn't worked with. Zoya put Priyanka at 2nd place. And I really don't think Kabir Khan's judgment can be trusted lol he just said Salman is the best and the most instant crier. Priyanka is not at all average compared to the others lol, the sheer range of her work outnumbers the others in the list dude.

Her performance was amazing in Barfi! Otherwise in most of the films she plays the same character!!
