Lollipop shmollipop. If Spencer says it's a meatball that's good enough for me.

I've seen pictures of that model, it's a lovely design! I'm a big fan of the colorful "Sports" lettering on the Sports divers and JDM chronos. Looks like the lume looks decent as well - I hope that the owner gets many years of enjoyment out of the watch, it's an attractive design on it's own but that history is priceless indeed.

Classic Sabrina.eye roll at 1:19!! And yes, 'lollipop seconds hand "is the usual term for it.
@goaztecs75495 жыл бұрын
You are correct, the formal horological term has actually been "meatball" since the time of the first Aztec sundial.

Hello Spencer I picked up a very similar Seiko from a military base I live near by. Not sure of the history behind the watch but the gentleman I purchased was in the air force. The Seiko I have is a 5126-8100 /843045. The watch you have is almost identical to mine with exception from the case back.. and movement.

Love watches that have the cool military history. Especially to the owner that’s father wore it where he did. Thanks for sharing

Correct, but I'm gonna start calling it a "meatball" from now on.

I call it a meatball, too, even though I know the more accepted term is lollipop.

Meatball sounds much more manly: Meatball !!!

I’ve heard both meatball and lollipop (which may be ‘more correct’). I knew exactly what you meant though!

Spencer, just came across Your Tube Tube sight and determine that I have the exact same model of the Seiko 6119-8140. I acquired this watch in the Fall of 1968. I was station at RAF Upper Heyford, England. An Airman arrived at our base from Viet Nam and a new meter of our RcCon group. One day he knocks on my door and asks if I could loan him $5 . He said he would pap the $5 back on payday, well two days later he was arrested for having drugs and taken off base to jail. Never got my money back but I still and the was and it still runs..

Even if it's worth nothing, the history and the fact that it runs is pretty cool.

Question for the Friday fun video: Did John or have you ever attempted to recreate the Crystal's for Grand and King Seiko models? Were they ever attempted to be recreated?

Spencer, I’m having trouble with the two addresses you’ve mentioned through which to reach you. kleinvintagewatchrepairs.com comes back as ‘invalid’ address and I’m not on Instagram or any other platform. How do I get in touch ? I have my kinetic 5m42 I’d like your thoughts on reviving after dusting it off from out of the sock drawer. Many thanks
