Mine was a bit of a Friday afternoon special, a very proud pin that needed fixing, the shield badly stamped, some marks on the scales around another pin but the fundamentals were good. It was a great knife too so it wasn't going back!!! The great thing for myself was the handle width. Worked in the cold for many years and got a little arthritis (wear those gloves people!¡!) in my hands. This knife is just the right width and very comfortable to use. A great little knife.

Nice trudge George. I have a few Old Timer knives. All are USA made from the 80’s. Schrade knives manufactured them but the company was sold and manufacturing went to China by Taylor I think it was. I believe they have started making Old Timers in the USA again. Thanks again for your video.

Great video George! My kind of knife. To bad they dont flare the saw teeth to make it more usable, but much better than no saw blade. I purchased that sheath a while back for a Marbles Saddlehorn knife I own. Works nicely. Be safe yourself.

I nice flat grind done carefully on a belt sander to profile the top edge in would do it well. Just a few thousands on each side.

The one I have is the older US made. It's held up well. My most carried knife of all time is the1940T the saw is not the same as on the SAK lol. I lovec the old uncle Henry's and old timers the saw on your knife is more of a bone saw hence the name trapper lol. Another great video ! Well done George !

This is a nice looking knife, I like old timer knives. This saw blade is probably a combination blade. That way you can do Crosscut and Rip saw cuts. Silky saws don't have any side to side setting of the teeth, instead they grind the entire blade thinner at the spine compared to the tooth Edge.
@2ndchancegeorge
@2ndchancegeorge 5 ай бұрын
I have only noticed this on knives with saws. Probably because how hard it would be to get teeth bent. Silky are sold saws for sure

Hello George nice review as always 👍 Recently I got hold of an Old Timer 1250T , nice solid big bladed clip point with a liner lock , feels very good in the hand. Did you realize that you had a dressing malfunction that morning?

G'day mate, I'm trying to place your accent - have you spent some time in Australia or New Zealand? I have one of those knives too and it is a good looking knife for sure. And you are right,the saw teeth have no set..but my understanding was that primarily the knife is for skinning etc and the saw is for cutting bone.

the saw blade reminds me of the ranger grip series by Victorinox. They are the opposite, the blade locks and the saw does not.machete? I used to carry old timer and uncle Henry all the time but, I found that the steel has gotten rather cheap. Chinese steel in fact. I wish old time, case, and even buck would go back to american steel. beautiful knives with real bone and antler handle scales should not have inferior steel. Good video.
