Really awesome comparison! I’ve been sleeping on Schrade knives… and Old Timers. I never knew they had liner locks! So awesome to see traditional folders with tweezers (that aren’t Swiss Army knives!) I’ll have to try one of these!!! Thank you for the video, it was great! 🤙🏽

Very cool knives, KD! Like both of them. The Chinese made knives are cool because they are keeping the Old Timers in production but it’s too bad that they aren’t making them like they used to. It doesn’t seem like it would cost anything to machine the pick like the old one. Thanks for sharing these great knives.

Two very cool knives. I like the old one quite a bit can't beat the soul the old knives. The saw on the new one is cool with the saw as well. Great video 👍

Seeing these two together was really neat! The U.S. made old timers are awesome, but if I had one I think I would be hesitant to use it alot since I couldn't really replace it. Nice that you've got a new china made one for a user! Cheers, my friend.

I had the 96OT, pretty nice, even the blade patina. The tweezer and pick were impressive. Too bad the current current versions aren't up to par. Would love to get one with the saw.

Very nice and handy too. I picked up a roper with a saw a clip point and a hoof cleaning hook. I agree with RJ it wouldn't be that big a deal to go with a pick on more models

Yup, the pick is pretty handy :)

Nice comparison. I've had neighbors with barking dogs. I don't understand how owners put up with constant barking. They're either deaf, or don't give a 💩.

In a neighborhood where the the houses are so close, people need to understand that if they have an outside pet, it can potentially affect other neighbors.

I'm lead to believe the carbon steel on the US made Old Timers is outstanding. A nice knife to have. I've just ordered a Buzzsaw Trapper because they look handy and I read a lot of bad reviews on the steel the modern OTs are made of quite a few years ago but you'll get that, one guy leaves a bad review and you get a load of pile ons after. I'd like to find out for myself now.

Interesting video Thanks for sharing, I have never seen these knives before, didn’t know Old Timers had scale tools. It would have been cool if the pin had a hole in it for sewing, From what I could see the saw has directional teeth meaning it saws in one direction like the older Victorinox saws did. The combination tool on the Victorinox 108mm knives cuts only in one direction, where as the newer Vic. saws are bi-directional.

Wow!! Great info partner ! Thanks! Yup, it would be cool if I could sew with it. Take care amigo!

I'm sure the newer tweezers are not as good but I still think they are at least as good as the ones on Victorinox. My pick was very finicky! The real problem was if I don't put it in just right it is almost impossible to remove. I wonder if the "China made" QC has drifted downward in the last 10 years. The Buzzsaw is a fun knife!
@KnifeDetector3 жыл бұрын
I would say so, maybe they have difficulty keeping up with the demand.

The QC has gone down on everything you can think of including people themselves, curtesy has gone down the pan the same with manners. In my own trade as a mechanic I can pin down the year to 1976 when the QC was announced with the introduction of bonus payments instead of basic wage, from the on the apprentices instead of learning the trade became gofers, work was skipped to earn the bonus, what the mangers could not see was that shoddy and slipshod work drove away customers, plus any self respecting mechanics left, within ten years a company that had employed three generations went to the wall.

I really want a Buzzsaw, but I had to send two of them back because of very proud pins. I didn't know how to fix them without scratching the handles.

Yes, I think the older ones just had better quality.

Was thinking about getting this, that was until I seen how much more I pay for it in th uk . Omg, its $47.09 , that's $18.75 more expensive here in the UK from Heinnie Haynes.

I’m sorry to here that buddy.

I think a couple of the flaws with the new one are easily remedied with a bit of sandpaper if it bugs you🤔
