I can't think of one good reason for a 13 year old boy to be carrying a pellet gun. Pointing it at a cop is just insanely stupid and even a kid of 13 would know that.

In this case based on the info realesed it apears the officer had legitimate reason to fear for his life and use deadly force there was no way of knowing if the gun was real or not in the situation they were in. They either had to shoot him or wait to see if he shot them.

They released the footage so fast cause there's honestly nothing to be upset about. All children deserve to have parets, but not all parents deserve to have a child.

Outraged…? The police tried harder to save that child’s life than his own family ever had, right up until the end they were trying to preserve his life. If you care about your children, you don’t let a culture that promotes delinquency and glamorizes improper firearm possession to flipping kids, you don’t let them out to roam at just any old hour in any old company with any type of real or pretend weapons, you teach them respect, responsibility, accountability, discipline. That young man was failed by those who condoned and continue to excuse these destructive behaviors, he was failed by a community that is only ever concerned after they lose one instead of before, instead of putting in every single effort they can do dissuade and discourage delinquent and criminal behavior and activities and the entire culture that glorifies it. Take away the idolization of that lifestyle and put faith back in these children and their families, enabling youth to imitate the worst possible role models has done nothing for this child or anyone.

First of all sad that a 13 year old has lost his life, and the sadness of family. Also, the officer whom has taken a life, and how he feels. However these days with rampant crime in many of our neighborhoods, and you have a 13 year old out at night in dark clothing, and I think some sort of covering on his head. What is a 13 year old doing out at night with a toy gun, that does not look anything like a toy gun. What are the police responding supposed to think. The police want to go home safe after their shifts to their families. Again, sad situation but these days you can't be out there thinking there won't be any consequences when you look like someone that could be a potential threat, the 13 year old should be mature enough that this is a dangerous game he and his friends were playing.
