I worked in a prison for 25 years( a job the majority can't or won't do) and I retired at 46. I get gruff all the time from people about being retired so young. I worked 1000+ hours overtime a year in a wretched place and saved. Am I the one that's wrong? Hee hee

I came from dirt poor and have gone broke with debt twice. I am retired and debt free with a beautiful home and land completely debt free. It is still doable.

Spot on, brother! I was born last in the middle class, married young while in college. We made a combined $15k working through school. Had my 1st kid on the Medicaid. Wife went to medical school on the Army’s dime, and I worked. She finished training, and I went back to school to be a PA, 3 kids by then. I’m now “retired” at 51 building a farm/homestead. I work harder now than I ever did. I’m always behind on something that needed to be done last week, but that’s why it’s a lifelong process. If you have the drive, work ethic, and character to build up your skills and help others along the way, you can do whatever you want. God has been good to me, and I thank Him daily. But you can’t sit back and it just be handed to you. And you can learn something from most anyone if you choose to, even the idiots. If they don’t have anything to offer, why be around them? Keep doing what you’re doing Josh. I’ve learned a lot from you over the years.

Shawn, you can’t blame anyone but yourself for the wrong decisions you made for yourself. Success does not go around looking for people to land on. You have to go get it yourself & it is up to you how much you get for blood, sweat, & tears. Most every successful person failed many times at different things until they finally found what worked. Change your mindset about everything & think before you act. Josh did not get where he is without putting in the work, blood, sweat, & tears & does it daily to maintain it. You need a good accountant to be willing to help you. But we don’t give advice free.

I’ve been subscribed for a few years and last year, selling my house I was paying for over 25 years bought 30 acres in NE TN. Nothing is free, and it’s hard work just clearing and prepping the land. I’m tired lol… nothing was handed to you, and yes KZfaq money must be good but come on, you work for it!!!

Thank you for this video... Vast swaths of America have not been taught the value of the work ethic. They have bought into dependency on others. They buy into other people's dreams and goals, but have none for themselves. They need to become educated on how to build a life worth living and actually take responsibility for their destiny. Cheers 👍

You mentioned Dave Ramsey. His program changed our lives when we were in that situation like you described, unable to afford the basic necessities. Lots of folks go through their entire lives and don't ever realize what you've just shared, Josh. I'm not a farmer or a rural landowner, but I watch your channel simply because of what you are talking about. Thank you, sir.

Josh I've been following you for a long time and what you've endured and overcome to achieve what you've become ! I'm 68 years old and I've worked my ass off to get what I've gotten which isn't much, but I've been dept free and retired at 62 and it was because I worked 3 jobs to get where I am!thanks for all the inspiration you give and hopefully the next generation can follow your words God bless and I hope you get everything out of life because you've earned it!

Well said Josh! I consider myself successful. Am I rich..... no, not monetarily. Do I have lots of land..... no. That was not my priority.

I just came from my son's "new student orientation" at a local college. One saying stuck with me. "Show me your friends, I'll show you your future." So true, and I've seen it my entire life.

Well said, brother. You get out what you put in. Without mental goals continually flowing in one's mind, stagnant life follows. You have definitely shown what sweat equity can get an individual. We all gotta start somewhere, but your mindset will keep you there. Proud of all you do, brother. America!!!
