At 65 ytears of age, it is so great to see a young man like you with the right attitude and who is not only not afraid of hard work, but the fact that you truly love to push yourself and you will reap the rewards of hard work and dedication for the rest of your life. It is easy to see that God has definitely had a solidimpact in your life. I also love the fact that you and your dad have such a great relationship. In my younger days, I did not build a cabin from the ground up. but my dad and I did fully enclose a 2nd floor brick porch into a great bedroom for me at age 8, he taught me as his dad taught him about basic woodworking shills. Later on, I took a job as a ranch manager in Dallas and built a brand new horse corral out of telephone poles with 60 hand dug post holes in hard packed clay and 2x6 rails. I renovated the farmhouse and repaired all the electrical, plumbing, windows and doors. At the end of each day, I was exhausted, but as you know, looking at what YOU built is an incredible feeling and a good night's sleep well earned.

Back the mid 70s our area of Minnesota lost all or most of it's elm trees and of course the concerns of a young family was supporting everyday life. If we had your experience at that time we could have easily built a log home for little or nothing compared to today. We installed a wood burning furnace and burned around 20 cords a year for 8 years. I am so happy that you can do what you are doing today and looking towards your future, may it be everything you need and desire.

I've learned that having some patience, and a sharp eye can save oneself a lot of money. It's amazing what some will throw out, simply because they can't, or don't want to deal with it.

I think I have been holding my breath. I think I can breathe again when the cabin is dried in. Great video as usual. I love how you are taking your time and doing it right. My favorite part is the notching and scribing part. Also enjoyed the bark peeling for some odd reason.

There is a added safety Dynamic when the other guy on your crew is someone you care about, and is also watching out for you. Proximity and the absence of too many bodies on the site- (below elevated work) are also a good system. Good comment.

Placing the first log, a "new" retro-fitted trailer, and the start of the build season - YIPPEE!!!! The trail cam shots are awesome! Love seeing the wild life crossing the trai - gives a true perspective of the wooded environment where the cabin is locatedl! Another GREAT video! 👍👊😍❤️️
