When I first started racing (dirt track) I once said "I'm driving the wheels off the stupid thing and still finishing 15th" a older racers reply was "can't finish the race in a car with no wheels". I took that to heart and it didn't take long for me to be fighting for top 5s and podiums. Overdriving has it's place but not every turn of every lap.

Thank you so much for this video! I needed to hear this because I don't pay enough attention to the car and what it's trying to give me in a race, and I don't adjust accordingly. I will make sure I put these useful tips to work.

I can find this happening , sometimes during a race , like when you are closing in real hot on someone. It really brings to the saying "smooth is fast" but don't mistake it for being an every car / every corner type of thing. However, more often than not, overdriving / underdriving will cost you time.
