Call in the ground crew! Had a good chuckle. Nice job on the tree, great video editing. May not be a diy video but I'm going to steal some of your rigging methods for sure. Making this work look easy is pretty damn amazing and inspiring.

Great solo work as usual. I'm almost ready to get climbing. I ordered 150' of climbing rope a friction saver and a few other dodads. Congrats on getting a ground crew LOL.

It kind of depends on the job, but in this case the guy who runs the house/mansion wanted particular limbs taken down. :)

If you make a bungee to hook to it and your harness it will tend the rope for you as you go up. Stihl born has a video up about it

had my adjustable frictionsaver choked around a spar yesterday, had it a little wrong and it slid down maybe 6-7ft, at least I wasn't but 10ft off the ground, still scared the sh*t out of me hoping to try out my portawrap some more soon

I had the Echo filed for Pine (lower rakers) so it was catching in the oak a bit ... Stihl seemed to pull a bit better. It was a fun one until ... the rain!

Nice video meta! Did you use a basal anchor?

Yeah basal anchors on all three trees mainly because my line ended up over several limbs and couldn't be tied up top easily. I used crotches not limbs for my high-points ... I was reading last night about how a lot of climbers prefer not to basal anchor so it got me thinking that I should pull up a top anchor more often than I do.

I think I got the first gear hook “treesap” sent out!! I like it!!! Seems like the rakers on your 193 may be a touch short?..?..

Cool that you got one of his hooks! Basic, light, and good. Dang right about those rakers: I filed them the way I usually do for pine and that oak was too much for them. Good eye!

Made them … just get rated webbing and proper thread for your machine following best practices for stitch placement. Steel double lockers are recommended

I use a retrievable rigging line system ... you'll see it in a lot of my videos

Static for sure ... pelican makes some affordable ones I like ... and for light stuff I just use whatever cheapo ropes I have around

Is it better to call someone on the ground ...here in europe ( but i think in the world ) to work on trees ..its necessary two people one on tree one on the ground ( climber too) in case of emergency ....is the LAW ...

I realize you're not 10,000 ft in the air but it certainly looks like it from a couple of your camera angles and at one point I thought you lost your chainsaw Nothing like paying to do your job crazy you're doing them a service and they charge you to park

Reminds me of some jobs I had as a kid where we had to buy the uniform to work the minimum wage job. Crazy! I did drop that Echo at one point, but it landed nice and soft on some brush. Phew!
