Thankyou for mentioning my comment in this video. For anyone who is wondering about green tint and color fade at 81hz, it's due to ROM and not the display. The 75hz has no tint issue and is good on battery too. Although I would like to tell you that 81hz will not damage your phone's display. And for 90hz or more, you cannot install it stock kernel as it's thermal limit unfortunately dims the display and the tint is more pronounced ( read same as DC dimmimg effect). For stock ROM users I will recommend only 75hz . ( ROM limitations) Edit- Just using a custom ROM won't solve , contrast issue , go for a custom kernel. My favourite is QUAX kernel for K20 pro. Antutu reaches near 500k.

@@debanjanpalit4683 Please do not overclock the display. Technolobe didn't mention the screen being blown out but this case is real. The benefits of 81 Hz is very less. Just wait for couple of generation more. I would advice you a custom kernel btw, the Antutu hits 500k+ more than 855+. Lowered contrast is not worth it

There is any new updates for this? I just bought this phone this year (yeah 2023) I'm not Rockefeller ... I've installed Pixel Experience 13 (from Miui 12.5) but now the fingerprint sensor don't work and I'm unable to swipe down notifications while in any app. In horizontal mode and in home menu works fine. Also, TWRP 3.7.0. is not working. I have to connect the usb cable and reinstall TWRP it everytime.

No bro,they don't overclock 81hz cz it's not standard ,but the panel doesn't support the standard 90hz too,so 60hz is the suitable standard for K20 pro,if you can do 81hz it's safe and will work as usual,so don't say anything that you don't know,you are a tech blogger,so keep it in mind

You don't need root to install it, I did it yesterday, just flash twrp once back up dbto partition and flash the mod, if you don't like it just flash twrp again and flash the partition you backed up but I advice if you're happy with 60hz don't go to 81hz because you will see 60hz laggy, won't get used to it that quickly and also will lose more battery life

bro another nerd here who's name is also harsh and coincidentally happens to own a k20pro. Just one question, does the mod stays when we change a rom? or does it go back to regular 60hz and we have to flash the mod every time we change the rom? Since, we're on the topic of mods, is there a dual speaker mod available for k20pro, because there was one for my previous device redmi note 4. I would've looked for it myself but I still don't have a convincing reason to root it yet, since MIUI is getting better and there are some features coming out with MIUI 11 and I can't afford a new phone if I accidentally brick it! As many of you are concerned about the long term result of display, some of the users have reported a permanent damage to the screen on the telegram group, as per me when i used the 72hz mod on pixel experience and evolutionx ROMs i faced black crush issue(google it if you are not aware of it) so i would suggest to stay on the stock refresh rate .

Well i guess black crush is related to colour calibration and the high refresh rate messes with colour calibration, so theoretically it can be rectified using some colour calibration app and still the high refresh rate can be retained without any black crush, but i am sceptical about overclocking the display for a long time as it is a amoled panel, would have no concerns if it was a ips panel

this doestn work on mi9t pro 12.0.2.0v eea version. you can simply flash the dtbo by downloading fastboot rom, repacking it going into firmware-update and open up cmd as an admin, type fatboot flash dtbo dtbo.img and press enter, reboot your phone. no need to thank me.

Hi Technolobe, I have MIUI 10 installed on my k20 pro, i have flashed the image of 81hz successfully and it worked fine and good. But today i have updated my device to MIUI 11 it automatically got back to 60hz. But now, i am trying to flash the 81hz image i can't do it, it shows error while taking backup of dtbo. And i couldn't see 81img file in twrp recovery while its there in file manager. Could you please help me out!

Ya that is because developer has not given support for finger print.... Your phone is accepting only 60hz .... Which u changed to 72 so.... Switch back to 60 problem solved

When I install this through twrp my refresh rate goes to 40 and when I do if from lanthanum system tool....it didn't effect at all.
