I would like to explain my hesitancy when trying to cross the stream at 8:30. I was trying hard to not go swimming there since I have the reputation of falling at least once on every camping or Jeepin’ trip and on most RTR rescue or fire responses. I have been told that you can tell if you are old if the people who see you fall run to help you or just laugh. It also seems that you must not be old if they are trying to capture the fall on video to be shared on Facebook. On that basis this guy who was born in 1943 is not yet old.

This is one of my favorite spots (paint creek) there's all kinds of rustic camping off the side trails. Can't wait to get my WJ back up and running to run those trails and get to camping again.

A neat little place not far from Max Patch that I enjoyed was Wolf Creek falls.

Jumping from rock to rock: if you try to live safely all the time you don't get to experience the more exciting things in life. Would you rather die young doing what you loved or die of old age having never lived?

If Hot Springs isn't a new Gatlinburg in 20 years I'll be surprised.

Looks like a great trip. How do you guys clean up / shower while on the trail?
@CoddiwompleOverland2 жыл бұрын
We have a Joolca. The Skinny Guy has a shower. We use wipes daily. And sometimes we will buy a shower at a campground if we run across one.
