Fantastic review Sam! You absolutely killed it here. This car looks terrific and should be a problem the the rest of the competition in it's class. So much style, design, technology and performance for the price. The editing of the video and stills is second to none. I found this review very informative from beginning to end. Had to laugh at the clip of you exiting the trunk of the vehicle.

At the end of the day, to get a performance minded luxury sedan you're gonna pay $41K plus. Look at anything else with that sort of performance output that's what manufactures are asking - and getting.

wrong reason, the integra is and alwasy has been a sporty economy car. In this case its a luxury civic, if you want a sports car the type R would be the option for you. As a luxury upgrade of the civic, and not a sports car, having the powertrain of the sporty SI makes perfect sense. Of course, 50 hp would be great, but this cars spec honestly makes a lot of sense.

You Canadians might feel differently since pricing is better there. I reserved my manual Integra on March 10. Found out in May that MSRP would be almost $38k US with destination. When I spoke to the dealer on March 10, I was assured that if there was a markup it would be a 3 digit number. When the demo arrived, I was told $3k markup. Over 40k for an Integra? I took my money to BMW instead. BTW, same dealer wanted $12,999 for a new 1989 Integra LS coupe in May 1989.

For the naysayers I don't know. I saw the A-Spec version at the dealer yesterday with the 19" black matte wheels, side skirts, and tinted windows. It's a gorgeous vehicle. Is it going to win many races, no, but for getting around town it will be practical and fun. Interior is really sweet. I'll venture to say that Acura has a HR on their hands regardless if some decry the lack of power and CVT. For the type of driving I do today I'd buy one. Just because the car is not for you doesn't mean that it doesn't fit someone else perfectly. There will be a lot of satisfied customers and of course for the folks who wouldn't consider buying one there are a host of other vehicles available across a range of manufacturers.

Have not seen one in person, but in video and photos, I can't help but be reminded of the now defunct, Dodge Dart. I'm sure it is a much nicer car, but the body is really luke warm. Granted, only so much you can do for a 4-door hatch while maintaining a budget and functionality. Nice that the front vents are functional. A Type S would/will be nice, but given their pricing, it is going to be competing in a bigger arena. At this price point I guess you have to pick your priorities. Get an Elantra Type N for amazing performance but econo amenities, or an Integra (Or Mazda 3) for a more pedestrian driving experience but a much nicer ambience. Unfortunate that you can only get the MT with the A-Spec Tech Package.

Gas mileage will not be as good in the ilx, but I do not care. The 1.5 does not cut it, I dislike cvt's and do not want to pay 45,000 for a manual. For about a year, I had my eyes set on a 2.0t Accord Touring. But something about it turned me off and I never went through with purchasing one. I came to the realization that it was because I would be spending 40-50k on a car just to be lost in the sauce with the hundreds of other Accords we all see on the road. I guess if I'm going to pay that much, I would like to gain some attention or get some reactions from it right? Like, "Dude! Is that the new Integra?." So for that reason (and the better sound system) I ended up purchasing the ASpec w/Tech package with the CVT in the Black Majestic Pearl and Red interior. Yeah. I know. The Integra's powertrain may not compare to the Accords' but I'm a middle aged family man with 3 kids who doesn't really need to be the fastest guy to the next light. Plus, this 1.5L DOHC Turbo is definitely doing the job of getting the family and I to where we want to go in a timely fashion, especially when I set it to its Sport mode. It has since been our choice for the weekend car over our 2016 MDX. Oh and one more thing, the wife doesn't even bat a eye at me when I decide to punch it a little because she doesn't notice how fast we're going due to the fine suspension that this vehicle is equipped with. And that's also a great selling point I might add as a recommendation for the purchase of this vehicle. 😁

You seemed to miss the many shortcomings with this car - that price increase over the civic Si doesnt isnt justified. The other shortcoming is that the Integra needed to be sportier and it isnt on all counts a) it lost its coupe sleek sporty profile, its jacked up higher on its suspension. vs the old GS-R for example, b) Poor value - forced into A spec if you want manual -l-a-m-e , ) given its A spec price it competes with Germans (Audi A3, Mercedes A class,. BMW 2 series) yet it falls short on feeling as luxurious and special as the German cars C) its underpowered and under-tired with all seasons only, its actually slower than the Civic Si given same motor but heavier curb weight and the Civic is slow 7 second 0-60. Honda wanted to make profit off Integra name whilst selling us a Civic Si with new body panels., but they shortchanging is obvious to the consumer.

I’ve driven 3 A-SPEC / tech's in the past 2 weeks all with a 6 speed manual.(Dealer demo's) I have a'19' Honda Si so I’m very familiar with this engine, it’s very punchy, and in the Integra it just feels so underpowered. It must be the added weight, every shift needs to be wound out to get up to speed. The other thing is the seats are so uncomfortable. It feels like you’re sitting on them, not in them. They almost feel like plywood. No bolstering. They look nice though. The interior is beautiful and I’m excited about all the options it has, but to put a A-SPEC badge on it is a little deceiving. When they offer more power, I’m there!

Competition would look like the Mazda3 Turbo. Which imo this Acura doesn't really beat any either interior or powertrain. The only currently benefit is that it does come with a manual. Otherwise, I'd still recommend the 3 Turbo over the Acura Integra. I would say the exterior is subjective on both cars, both have a "wow" but "meh" response visually.

The car itself is nice but for the amount they are charging, which in the states I am told can go beyond $46K the engine choice is completely unacceptable. Has any cvt based 4 cylinder car ever cost this much? Do you realize this costs as much or even more than a Stinger GT and G70? If they put the 2.0t in this they would feel the need to charge $55K+. Type S $60K+ if they make it. It looks nice but I am very annoyed with the engine choice. Honda could care less about enthusiasts. How about a dct Type R as well? How about making the TLX more on par with competitors? How about everyone stop talking about how Honda/Acura makes affordable performance cars because they Damn well don't. Hyundai does though!

i think a much better option would be the 2.4L 201hp naturally aspirated engine & 8 speed dual clutch tranny from the ILX. of course, i would only drive the 6 speed stick 🤨

It's a good looking car in the right color but like the original integra it's to much Civic and not enough of anything else to be considered a luxury car in any sense of the word. An Accord 2.0t is faster , and the interior materials are just like those in the Civic, against actual small cheap luxury sedans and midsized sedans at its price point its interior and objective performance just isn't on par

Acura did not make a mistake nor did they miss the mark. They delivered the car they intended to. This is not the car for kids. It's for mature adults who have the money to buy it and enjoy it for what it is. It's not a race car. It's a sporty sedan, and who drives sporty sedans? There are plenty of fast two-seaters out there for speed demons. Why can't the rest of us have something we like without getting beat up over it.

The new Integra type S better stick with the Acura type S formula, and have the SH-AWD. Ideal Type S would have the 2.0L turbo, 10speed dual clutch automatic instead of CVT, and SH-AWD.

I certainly wouldn't spend more on the Integra A-Spec with Tech pkg just to get the manual. The base A-Spec should have had the manual option. Especially when Honda decontented the US market Civic Si so bad and also raised the cost. The Canadian market Si amenity level should have been the default in all markets. Tbh, I even think the Civic Sport Touring Hatch manual looks better than the Integra, is almost equipped as well, and is the best value between the 2 by far. I really don't think the LSD is needed as a daily driver. If I was going to track my car and needed the LSD, then I would choose the Civic Si. Acura would NOT get my money. Hyundai might though with the Elantra N. The performance of the EN is pretty remarkable.
