This program shows that people who are overweight aren't necessarily careless. They care. While they are in the process of changing, they should not be ridiculed or teased ... at school or at work.

For the longest time I have been suffering from high blood pressure and obesity but recently I made a drastic change to my diet. I no longer eat foods with high fructose corn syrup or the like in it, no soda, no energy drinks, and I make all of my food at home from scratch. I have also been walking roughly 20 to 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week (soon to be every day as I needed to grow my stamina) and I've been working out 3 days a week. Since I started that change, fast food isn't appetizing anymore. Soda is too sweet and I feel sick after drinking it. I no longer take in caffeine so my BP is down and I've been sleeping better as well. Just removing sugar and caffeine has changed my life for the better in many ways, just doing things like that might even save someone's life.

Once people realize how addicting it is and treat it like any other addiction, it's so easy to change. People also don't realize how much salt is in soda, fast food and junk food.

Good job. Keep it up. I find that only following people on Insta keeps me in line. I think i eat different than you, but i still have a goal in mind. Having pics of raw fruit n veg in my face all day, helps. Plus, i also feel accountsble for posting my papaya!

I feel the same way after giving a meat based diet a try; I can't go back to eating bread and drinking soda. Once you overcome it you realize how bad those foods made you feel and it only takes a couple weeks to lose those cravings.

It's one thing for your company to be concerned about your health, it's another for them to have access to all your health data. All this negative health data can be used against an employee regardless of their work performance. Are company executives subject to the same company "concern," that is corporate scrutiny of their health? I doubt it.

Another big problem in the construction world is alcoholism. The world of construction is unfortunately full of men with addiction problems, alcoholism being the most prevalent. Beer is FULL of calories and carbs, and if you're drinking five, six, seven or more a night, you are guaranteed to have at least a paunch, if not be totally overweight, not to mention the food we love to eat with beer at the sports bar (chicken wings, fries, etc etc)

The stupid thing is that when employers provide employee luncheons as a reward or incentive, they will often serve carbohydrate HEAVY foods like pasta, bread, a cookie and soda. In my opinion, employees would be better off if they had two slices of pizza and unlimited salad, no cookies and no soda provided. Or just cater some Jimmy John's or Subway with heavy veggies on the side as an option to add. I rarely eat more than a few bites of the lasagna or other pasta my employer serves because it makes me feel tired, too full and too sick to work well for the rest of the day!

Jimmy John's or Subway is not exactly a much healthier option, still a lot of carbs and sodium. The problem is that food shouldn't be used as a reward ever.

Employee luncheons are not an everyday thing. Obese employees have unhealthy eating habits and that fat has been cultivated for years. One employee luncheon a month wont do that even if they serve the must unhealthy foods. If a person eats healthy 5 days a week walks 30 to 40 mins 5 days a week and eats out on the weekends they wouldnt be overweight. What you do in your own time is the problem.

L A I know what you're saying buuuuttt..... Employers today make employees pay an additional fee for smoking, yet they don't do any advocating for choices that go into the vending machines, they don't stop providing donuts weekly, and at my work like I mentioned, they have meals that are pasta-heavy 2 to 4 times a month,where I work. Having SOME carbs are tasty, GOOD and can be healthy - _in moderation _ - . My complaint is when employers don't model and implement this in the food choices they make available to employees, when it would be relatively easy to do so AND it would be well received by most employees, in my opinion and experience.

Dawn In my opinion and experience, having a sub sandwich with a substantial serving of meat and veggies is much more balanced than a catered pasta dish that barely has any meat or cheese, that is just 95% noodles with some residual pasta sauce and a spot of meat and mozzarella here and there, served with breadsticks and barely a handful of lettuce as salad on the side. This is a problem in my workplace and other places I have worked. In my opinion. When this is served I feel better off if I don't eat it. And when my employer is so concerned everyday about production and meeting numbers, I don't understand why they don't have more thought behind what the effects of the food they serve as an incentive does to their employees ability to perform optimally.

So... my college is having us analyze whether or not it's ethical of companies to be so involved with their employee's lives, especially if their priority is to boost efficiency and lower costs, not their employee's health. My take on this is: does it really matter? Either way, there is attention being called on unhealthy employees, and there are incentives pushing them to be healthier. I think whatever the reason it is for the wellness programs, the side effect of healthier employees makes them all a positive addition to the workplace.

A company that invests in its employees will have a loyal, happy workforce. If the company is inefficient, it will not survive, and all of the employees will be out of a job, which is bad for everyone. Pursuing efficiency by improving the quality of life of the employees is the best possible scenario.

Except that recent studies have shown wellness programs offer almost no benefit to the employee - and they give up a degree of privacy when they allow the company access to their private medical information.

Allow me to play devil's advocate to your premise... Let's say that after testing, the doctor sees that you love to eat gremiche (totally made up) and it is high in calories. The company may start feeling it has the right to tell you to stop eating gremiche, and check up on you to make sure you are not eating it. And, possibly, over time, fire you because you didn't do what the company felt was good for your health. Whether the company was right or wrong in the data about gremiche, the camel's nose is now in the tent.

Intermittent fasting. It will shed pounds , reverse type 2 diabetes, improve blood pressure and so much more. There is so much information out there that is worth serious consideration. My husband and I have employed intermittent fasting and in 6.5 months my husband lost 50 lbs and I have lost 40lbs. It was not from restricting what we ate. We lost weight by keeping our window of eating to a very short period each day. Neither of us feel deprived in the slightest. We only refrain from eating throughout the day.

@@Paulinemoke , I eat one hour a day in the evening. I started intermittent fasting by skipping breakfast. Then I progressed to having lunch around 2 or 3 in the afternoon after several months. When I got used to that, I then moved to just one meal a day. The key is to keep the hours of eating and consuming liquid calories to the smallest window that is tolerable. It gets easier with time.

Same here. My eating window is for a hour. 7-8pm. I'm doing OMAD. At first it's hard. You'll be hungry. But as the days go on, you don't get hungry. Your body adapts to it.

Look at Dr. Berg's videos here on KZfaq. He has a lot of information on starting keto and intermittent fasting. I eat all my meals within an 8 hour window and have found this very effective and am achieving my goals. Good luck.

Great video! The best I've ever seen about the subject of obesity. Not one person on this show made an excuse or complained of fat shaming or body positivity or complaints about the fast food industry or food deserts or past childhood issues, or government not doing enough, or food industry lobbyists. It was a company that saw a problem and acted on it and people that took responsibility and took the help offered. I'm sure not bv everyone of the employees did, but it looks like mostly all participated and a fee had great success!

The biggest thing employers could do to combat obesity is work their employees shorter hours so they have more time to go home and cook for themselves.

If these American companies cared about their employees health, they would give them a decent amount of holidays each year so they can have a healthy work/life balance. They are just doing this so they can get more productivity for less cost. It’s pretty insidious how they are interfering with people’s personal lives. I have always had the impression that US companies feel like they own their people like serfs. It seems very easy to fire them if they don’t toe the line, for example.

@@gonegirl4690 Speaking as a person that has lived in both the US and the UK I can tell you why the US is against a nanny state and the UK is for one. In the US when the government gets involved things get more time consuming, more expensive, less well run, and the number of hoops one has to go through to get anything done is exhausting. In the UK when the private sector takes over for the government things become more time consuming, more expensive, less well run, and the number of hoops... you get the idea. It is a fact that the US gov't is terrible at doing most things on time and on budget. That is why the private sector is so strong and why people don't want gov't interference. But in the UK the opposite is true. If you remove the gov't the prices skyrocket and what actually gets done plummets in numbers.

On top of that because the NHS covers the cost of surgeries you want fewer people with medical problems easy ways to do that is to use technology to cut down on personal injuries at work- so for example the US has many jobs where repetitive lifting of 40+ pounds is expected - thus creating numerous health problems. In the UK any item over 20 pounds is required by law to be lifted by machine. That in itself cuts down on health problems and injuries. You can scoff at how things are done there but they are for the betterment of UK society on the whole.

Not everything is related to weight. Here in America people work themselves to death. No vacation, no days off for years. That what makes you sick. Stress and working all the time. I been working for 18 years full time me and my husband and did not get a vacation in those 18 years. I raised 9 kids at the same time. That makes you more sick than the food you eat.

That contributes to it a lot. I honestly believe the system is rigged agaisnt the working class. If you go to a mid to low income city you will find more fastfood places than the suburbs, not to mention the supermarkets designed to tempt people. Imagine u walk into a supermarket after working a 10 hour shift and the first thing you see is a box chocolate cake or a ready to go pizza, most people will grab that and just go bc they are so tired.

It’s amazing to me but other countries give four weeks minimum vacation when you start in a company here in America you barely get one week sometimes when you start so to me if someone takes a week off because they don’t feel well I feel like the company caused that. American companies need to re-look at how much personal time they are paying their employees so that they can get well rested for the year I don’t think it’s all about obesity it’s also about over working Americans. And if you were depressed from working so much you probably go home and just eat so to me it’s a continuous vicious cycle. Companies need to be accountable as well.

Lora, STUPID. The companies aren't forcing junk down their mouths. I am in a special position as a screen actor. We are constantly surrounded by some of the best food possible and some of the worst. Buffets eveywhere. I can choose to eat the bad stuff or the good stuff. So don't sit here and tell me it is the company's fault. The ugly fat fucks on the set eat all the crap processed food that is offered constantly. At home, I cook and don't keep processed food in the house

I was just telling a friend that since I've cut back sugar and salt, I can't handle the amount of it in drinks and take out. I ate a breakfast sandwich this morning. I feel a little sick from the salty sausage that was on it. I drink some mineral water and it settled my stomach. I can't handle that stuff anymore. I threw the rest in the garbage.

hmm... I wonder the very large bank I work for removed the small gym we had available for employees. Yet, really encourage worker to work OT as much as possible. In addition, much more often than not they rewards employees with food....pizza, candy etc..... They remove emergency day care that encouraged families to stay.

They really are shocked? *What the hell do you expect when you ask these men to overwork, overextend themselves for 60 hrs. per week? You aren't gonna have workers who are concerned about hitting the gym 4 nights a week or preparing lean foods in the kitchen. They are tired and so will eat high calorie, low nutritional food.*

Aallison K obesity is no more a “choice” then depression. Do people “do” things to both cause and worsen the “condition” same as depression yes. This still doesn’t make it a choice. No one chooses to be sick, hurt, obese, etc but many end up that way just the same. I’m not trying to pick a fight here but looking down upon people with issues is certainly not the way to bring them up out of their “condition” whatever it may be. At the end of the day no matter what is going on a person has to want something better for themself. I do applaud companies that are interested in making life better for their employees, however most miss the mark completely. I have worked construction in the mud with the men. They are hard working compassionate people that care deeply about their job and families. Unfortunately for them they spend so much energy on everyone else they save little for themselves. So for years on a daily basis I watched as they indulged on gas station junk food just for that moment of pleasure as it was all the peace they found in a day.

Aallison K I am not disagreeing that many are lazy. I am simply saying the root cause of obesity is not “laziness” or “poor choices “. To tell an overweight persons to just “eat healthy” is about as bad as telling an alcoholic to just put down the bottle. There are underlying reasons, reasons not excuses, as to why people crave and indulge all the while fully aware what they are doing will only exacerbate the issue. I didn’t say we need to condone or “like” what they are doing but reminding them how disgusting they are and berating them for being as they are serves no purpose to better the situation for anyone.

You do not need three big meals a day, unless you're a lumberjack, or work in the fields. We eat like lumberjacks, then sit or lie down for 23 hours...it's a recipe for disaster. I eat one meal a day...and other very small meals. And I'm active. Every meal, at every home and restaurant is an overloaded plate...why? You don't need it. You honestly don't. You're feeding your fat and starving your muscles. STOP

Because of health costs, and loss of productivity due to lost days off and absenteeism most companies refuse to even hire fat and obese people! These people need to take personal responsibility for their actions. No excuses!! It is your problem, do something about it! Don’t blame anyone else! You can do it!!!!

I have to question the actual savings to the company as a result of these wellness programs, as I work for a major corporation who instituted a very aggressive wellness program a few years back, but as the economy worsened they gradually stripped it away until all that remains is a paid day off to get an annual physical. If the savings were so great, why would they cut the program when the economy went bad?

+Scott Staggs: Also in this program they stated that it took a few years to show the effect. When money runs out, people run to short term effective remedies, neglecting what it will do in the long run. Besides that, maybe there was no-one actually presenting the facts in the company. Also: you can't really blame employers for hiring more healthy, normal sized people, now can you? Once they have figured out what it costs to hire an obese person (in average that is), they will naturally go for the slimmer person. For it is true that most obese people just seem to get less done in a day, than people with a normal weight. That is apart from the extra lost sick days. Is that a photo of you? How well are you doing on losing your extra weight?

Untrue. I can eat 3000 calories a day while sticking to a high carb low fat vegan diet, and become obese. Its not black and white, there is moderation to be required regardless.

My workplace does something similar and we subsidize Weight Watchers, but over the ten years I've worked there, I haven't really seen a change in body weight. In fact, I think we are getting larger.

Switching to a ketogenic diet can change your life for the better , it certainly changed mine. Stronger , leaner , muscular , more energy , better sleep quality for sure. Getting rid of sugar and anything processed is a must.

For the past two and a half months I have been going to the gym 5 days a week. I run four miles a day plus I do some resistance training exercises after my run. I do intermittent fasting everyday I only eat two meals a day lunch and dinner . I drink water all day. I don't drink sodas I don't drink juice and stay away from desserts. So far I've only lost 4 pounds of weight. Does anyone know if this is normal or is something wrong with me?

you are not eating enough and your body goes into survival mode, storing fat to keep you going... if you keep it up you will eventually drop the weight, but also develop an eating disorder and the minute you stop this routine you'll gain it all back. So, here are some tips: eliminate all sugars and trans fat, eat breakfast (2 toasts and coffee for example), make sure that half of your plate in all your meals is composed of vegetables, eat two pieces of fruit a day, and snack something light every three to four hours (some nuts, a yougurt, a fruit). i wish you the best!

+Eliana Scuderi: That is good advice! Hope he/she is taking it. Or someone else who reads along. For if you see what people are eating and what the portion size is, you have to do remarkably much to burn that off. And indeed: skipping meals will push the body into survival mode and it is absolutely not sustainable in the long run. It might be that he/she is building some muscle power, which weighs more than fat, so he/she might lose fat, which is easily seen when measuring the waistline. In the long run that will help a bit too for muscles use more energy than fat tissue. When eating bread, pasta and rice always go for the whole grain and brown variants. I personally was helped much by leaving sugary things out and also half of all bread, pasta and rice. Instead I ate a lot more vegetables and a lot more fruits. Got my weight down real nice without feeling hungry. For as soon as a felt hungry I would go for a bean salad or something like that, which filled me up real nice, without the spike and fall in my blood sugar levels, that caused food cravings.

yeah, it's not good for your metabolism, no competent nutricionist would suggest it. The thing is, that though they might work in the short term, they're not sustainable methods, as soon as you stop you will get a bounce back effect (and probably gain a few more lbs for good measure). The body is smart, if you starve it, it will eat up its reserves to keep you alive. As soon as you start eating again it will try to make up for those lost reserves because they are your "back up". If you fast like once a year for religious reasons or smth, the body will be ok with it, but if you do it on a regular basis your gonna drive it insane, it will try to store more than it should because it doesn't know when your gonna feed it again. Balancing your diet is a matter of eating well and eating healthy. There are no cheat codes. Veg, fruit, wholegrain, protein. And drink only water or fresh squeezed juice, no sugar added... You can still eat icecream or cake once in a while as a treat. Eating well isn't supposed to be a chore or punishment, its a change in lifestyle. Hope things go great for you! :)

Such as fruit smoothies, for example. There is no Good Sugar and Bad Sugar. Type 2 Diabetes also comes with age and is down to the body being unable to regulate their glucose levels. So either the body doesn't produce enough insulin or the body becomes resistant to insulin. Obesity is a Risk Factor, not cause. Risk Factors increase the odds of a T2 Diabetes diagnosis. Age is also a Risk Factor. Slurping fruit smoothies every day is a major Risk Factor. Scoffing fruit like there's no tomorrow is a major Risk Factor. Genetics is a Risk Factor. The more Risk Factors a person has? The higher the odds go up. Plenty of average people and skinny people have T2 Diabetes. A well-balanced diet and exercise, if possible, will lower Risk Factors that stem from excessive weight and liquid fruits. Age can't be lowered and so that Risk Factor increases with every passing birthday. Genetics can't be changed so that Risk Factor remains the same.

When I worked construction I got up to a juicy 220 at 19 years old... I have always worked out even throughout construction doing some type of resistance training 3x weekly at a bare minimum. As a construction worker you’re always enticed to eat out, multiple times too. Fuck I’d grab McDonald’s at 5 am go to the gas station after leaving my first work site around 12 pm. Snack throughout the day and grab some teriyaki dinner. You work all day so you never really have time to prep healthy food.

I am a starving student right now. All I can afford to eat is mostly processed foods. I hate it. I think the cost of healthy food is unattainable for a lot of families out there. Cost of living is so high where I live...just trying to survive. If government subsidized food costs....it would save on medical care. Education on nutrition is a great way to improve people's lives. I love that this company hired a professional to help their employees with their health. Healthy people are productive people. No brainer. I love that they reward them with extra $$. It goes a long way to help out their families both financially and health prevention.

The only times I have gained weight is when I have starved (300 cal a day) twice in my life for about 7 months each time. Once from poverty and once from illness...ONLY when I was able to eat 800 cal a day again did the weight gain STOP! But I was not able to lose what I gained from starvation.

Aw Christ. So many dumb comments. Calories. That’s it. Figure out what your BMR is and then don’t go over. Balanced diet. Whether omnivore, herbivore or carnivore. Don’t omit an entire macro group, that’s just dumb. It’s protein, carbohydrates, fat. There is a proper ratio for good health meaning vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, protein, fat. Exercise routine. Don’t overeat. That’s literally it. Registered dietitians know this. Dont skip meals. Don’t over complicate things. Whole grains, protein in either animal or plant form, vegetables, fruit, dairy isn’t necessary, but if you like it, go for it. 2 servings a day is okay. But a serving is a serving!!! Smaller portions! You have to go into a restaurant and be ready to know when to stop since they can give large portions. And eat out less. Calories are enormous in most restaurants. Treats limited. Plan meals. Take time for it. Don’t eat in front of a screen. Mindful eating. Good luck everyone. Can’t cheat the system. Biology 101 ya’ll.

This series I have a problem with since they focus on the societal implications of obesity. They don’t talk about tangible solutions. Moreover, many obese workers are class 1 which is 30-40 pounds overweight and I don’t think that causes a lack of productivity. Correlation doesn’t equal causation.

This was a very interesting doco. At the end of the day with the right mindset and correct eating plan it is very possible to lose weight fast. The only problem is most don't have access to the resources that allow this to happen.

+Fat Loss HQ: What do you mean? Nobody needs a program from their boss to lose weight fast and permanently. Everyone can increase their activity level and decrease their calorie intake. It's just that most are too lazy to be bothered. We like sitting down too much and we like the taste of refined sugar too much. So we stick our heads firmly in the sand and keep on eating and sitting. The idiotic thing here is, that if we cannot take care of ourselves anymore, someone else will come to feed us crap and clean our house and pay for our staggering obesity related doctor's bills. Many countries have a rather stupid system in which people are rewarded for bad behavior. So they keep doing it. Stop helping them and see how fast they can slim down when truly needed. Almost nobody was 'super morbidly obese' a century ago. And now look. How about a high tax on all things bad for you and that tax goes directly to programs to prevent obesity. That will make a difference. But probably this is never going to happen in a society, where the majority of the people are addicted to junk food. They rather keep their heads way down deep in the sand and first wake up when it is too late for them. People are so incredibly dumb.

Garden Joy OK so you must be perfect I’ve always wanted to meet someone like you. You mentioned a century ago No One was obese do you even remember years and years ago our great grandparents one worked one stayed home so there was always healthy options and there wasn’t these prepackaged garbage for food. Our employers give us 30 minutes to try and shovel down whatever food we can get. They want overtime they want to throw parties and feed their employees crappy food but yeah complain that employees are calling out and by the way almost all the skinny people I work with are always calling out sick so it’s not just overweight people. I grew up in a time where we didn’t have technology so you were busy but these damn phones are a problem.

I've flipped to high fat low carb because carbs are just 3 glucose molecules. I've had the most stable energy levels I've had in my life. No noon crashes nothing. It's been fucking amazing. I also realize it's not for everyone too since no way of eating fits all but we all benefit from cutting down sugar and processed carbs.

We have to get beyond this mistaken conception we have in America of "individualism" or "freedom" and make a little more effort to help control people who can't control themselves. Being obese is the same as being addicted to drugs, alcohol, or gambling. It has adverse effects on health and workplace productivity. Just like you don't have the "right" to be an alcoholic if it affects your work, you shouldn't have the "right" to be obese and be a substandard employee because of it.

But also, we need improved access to healthcare, and a restructuring of food economy - fast food shouldn't be the cheapest and most ubiquitous option for most Americans. Make a Big Mac cost $15 and a can of Coke cost $6, and put that money into the healthcare system. People clearly can't do it on their own, so we need to do more than "nudging" at this point.

Bryan that is a slippery slope my friend. Those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still... Also those willing to give up freedom for security deserve and receive neither. I think before anyone can do anything about any issue the first step would be to actually understand what is causing it. Obesity is a symptom of an underlying issue be it physical/mental/social. There are as many opinions on how to be healthy as there are on what is healthy. Anyone wanting to push for control measures will soon find themself within that dragnet and see the end result as unfavorable.

The problem I have with this is there are people who are overweight (like myself) with no health problems whatsoever (like myself) who can walk 8 miles and work out 2 hrs a day (like I do) and who work hard while I know a lot of skinny people who can’t even climb a flight of stairs and avoid work like the plague....these generalizations are false and degrading and make you look stupid

You are right. I'm in the same boat. I'm overweight but labs are normal. I work out at least five times a week; cardio and weight training. However, I work with slim people who drink and smoke on a regular basis and always missing work. Yes we need to get our health under control. I try to get a lot of people in my life, both slim and plus, to work out with me. I actually had more of the plus size people who were more willing to work out with me than the slim folks.

This effort is simply a proven response that people don't take care of themselves -- INSURED OR NOT. Health insurance has many ways of trying to work with it's members to get them the care that they need. Take the employer's side and factor in numbers of mental health issues, drug abuse, poor diet/obesity and how do we help these conditions in today's world? Everyone is too busy sitting on the couch, watching garbage on TV and eating garbage (thank you food delivery to your doorstep). We're teaching our children all our bad choices and habits. And consuming more processed foods, exercising less, eating animal products. It's all so completely unsustainable. How would you solve this? Thank you to the providers of this video and the controversial thoughts it inspired.

Wow, How is this legal? Don’t know much about American labour laws, but here in Canada, no employer has any right what’s so ever to know an employees personal medical information, it’s an illegal invasion of privacy. ONLY your doctor has the right to know your medical status. You cannot bribe employees with money for those able to improve their health. I could sue my employer if they attempted or threatened to do that…..it’s none of their business. What we do outside of work hours is none of their business…employers only care about one thing and one thing only, PROFIT, NOT their employees well being. Anyone who believes otherwise is just kidding themselves…..I’m really surprised this is legal in the US. Here, you could sue your employer for violating your personal rights, for being prejudice, and defamation of character. I though US labour laws were more more stringent then ours…guess not.

I really don't think weight matters much in this world, not even in dating. All that I think and know really matters is your qualifications and the amount of money you have. Obesity is bad for life quality but I hardly see it stop anyone much. There are even fat actors and plus size models.

+Melisa Deyn: Might it be that you are sticking your head firmly into the sand? Weight matters so much. You will feel so much better in a more lean body with a normal BMI, than you will feel in an obese body. No-one likes it to not look that nice, no-one likes it to struggle to put socks on, for your belly is in the way. No-one likes it to feel tired and sweaty so often and not to be able to play with the (grand)kids. No-one likes it to feel crappy because of obesity related illnesses. No-one likes it to have to spend more time in doctor's offices and be poked in. No-one likes it to have a much higher risk of getting diabetis type 2. And for those who start being obese at a young age: no-one likes it to risk lose many years of life. People who are obese run a higher risk of becoming depressed. No wonder, for they miss out on a lot of good things. No-one likes to have to pay more in taxes and health insurance because there are so many costs to being obese as a nation. But there is one thing most obese people have in common: they rather have the immediate pleasure of the food they are addicted to, than the pleasure of being free from all nasty things mentioned above in the long run. People are pretty weird.

You cannot use exercise as a weight control process, you must reduce your calories. You cannot run fast and far enough to burn 1000 calories/day unless you are Michael Phelps, your joints will not hold up. Do 16/8 fasting for 8 weeks and you will lose 10 lbs.

While getting healthier is always a great thing, it's rather invasive for an employer to be policing the personal lives of their employees. The company is looking to increase profits and reduce costs, not benefit employees.

To increase profits, their workers need to be healthy. Work somewhere else if you don’t like your employer’s requirements.

I agree companies don’t want to give you time off. How many people actually start off with only two weeks of vacation a year. How can you get rest and do other things around your home or even go to doctors appointments with only two weeks a year. On top of that they want overtime. 50 years ago my grandmother was a stay at home mom who could cook clean take care of the family with healthy choices but now it takes two people to work explain how this is making life better for Americans. It is very sad that one income can barely keep a family afloat. Plus get rid of the technology just like what I’m doing right now is a waste of time

The foods are addictive, that’s the problem, and people sometimes make poor food choices especially when they’re busy and stressed. They lack the knowledge that it takes to implement a healthy lifestyle and don’t have time to learn. It’s a vicious cycle, and it sucks.

It’s not necessarily the same as exercise though. You gotta get your heart rate up. That being said, they probably also work long hours so it’s challenging to exercise. But first thing they need to fix is diet.

@@AshDemonYoung probably because if you're single you most likely don't have anyone else to be accountable to, aren't likely to have or produce a bunch of kids, and can then spend all your time working for the company. That's my guess.

It is my view that a person can do a lot more damage to their weight loss goals in the kitchen than they can possibly repair at the gymnasium. With this in mind, I feel it was irresponsible of this film to suggest that weight loss goals could be achieved through exercise alone. The key to weight loss is to create a deficit between the calories consumed and the calories burned. If you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose weight. 30 minutes on a treadmill may allow you to burn 300 cal, but 90 seconds with a snickers bar will erase that progress. This film should have focused more on the nutritional management side of weight loss instead of suggesting that time at the gym alone is sufficient to bring about weight loss. Don’t misunderstand me, I am all about fitness and exercise and going to the gym. I believe that doing cardio and weight training is essential to good health and weight loss, but it is not sufficient. People must consume fewer calories if they want to shed the excess pounds and this film simply failed to hammer that point home.
