My channel is typically all about RVs, trucks, and towing, but once in a while I come across products that I purchase (with my own hard-earned money) that I couldn't find a lot of info on beforehand. Oftentimes I'll go to KZfaq to find video demos of the products I'm considering purchasing, but I couldn't much on this chipper/shredder. So, today I'm putting this video out there on the Victory MDWC1500 in hopes it'll help other prospective buyers seeking more information on the item. When I bought it I believe there was only literally one short other video on KZfaq demonstrating it, so hopefully this will help other folks interested in the item.
For my regular subscribers, don't worry as I'm not changing the content of the channel. If your one of my regular subscribers and this is not of interest, you can simply skip it.

I have watched many of this type of video and so far yours is the best, mainly for the fact that you dint just thow loads of wood in it and then it stalls due to overloading, you showed the best and correct way of using it, thanks for such a good vid, paul

Also, Thanks for reminding the folks about standing out of the way of the chute, concerning possible kickbacks.

If you put the washers which are in front of the blade in between the blade and the flywheel then move the Anvil back it makes them hang out more meaning it pulls the material through rather than having to push

Great video. was your assembly manual complete? it does not describe exactly where the wheel fenders attach to? if it goies in or out of the bracket. can you provide info on how you mounted the fenders for the wheels. thank you.

@@AdventureRocks thank you for reply, i did mine on the inside for more strength. i figure if mounted on outsode of brackets am accidnetal step-on woukd bend it or break it. i had to tape the ratchet wrench on one side to hold the bolt in so i can from the outsode tighten the bolt to nut.

How does it handle oak branches that have irregular "joints" or craggy stalks ... make sense ? most of my oak is not straight but goes in slightly different directions .... thanks

Yes, I have a lot of white oak trees and the fallen branches do fine. I do trim off any side limbs to keep it a single "stock" going in as it's not quite big and powerful enough to just take huge branches with perpendicular limbs and such. Basically you get a feel for what it likes and dislikes, and if there's any hesitation I just slow down the rate I feed it in. Some of it has to do with how wet/dry, fresh/rotted, etc. beyond just the hardness of the specie itself. Still using mine though and it has saved me a ton of $$ by being able to do about 80% of the shredding myself without hiring a tree service.

Does it need bearing grease or the bearings are sealed? it does have a small orifice on either side but mine does not take any grease and it looks bone dry. Maybe you should make another video on how to maintain these thing, and try the blade adjustment for self feeding.

Yes, great point. That is correct on needing grease. Here is the expert from owner's manual: "After every 8 hours of operation, lubricate the chipper side and drive side bearings. To do this, wipe all dirt, etc., from the grease fittings with a clean cloth, then apply no more than 3 shots of quality general-purpose grease with a hand-pumped grease gun. Over lubrication can also damage bearings. Also, check the bearing collar set screws regularly to be sure they are tight. If they are loose, reset them with Loctite, obtainable at any hardware store."

Moving the washer to make it self feed will also make the motor stall out on the almost max size pieces and makes the machine more dangerous if you get one of those guys who like to throw the stuff into the blades. Good way to break the staff on flywheel also. Their is a reason the manufacture installed the blades the way they did.. Its called safety and liability.. I would rather push stuff in then keep stalling it out and breaking things

Thank you for input. I kind of wondered about that so I had not moved the washers on mine yet. I really don't mind feeding the branches in myself, so appreciate your input again.

I’ve done the washer trick on every chipper I’ve owned and it works brilliantly. Never an issue
