I love my 24 G70 3.3t Sport Prestige AWD as well. Like you said it puts a smile on your face every time you start her up. My wish list is: 1) Ambient lighting. 2) Controller knob for the entertainment screen. Screen is a little too far for me to touch. 3) Full digital dash display with blind spot camera on both sides.

Thank you for your time to share more about this amazing car . As we all know every car could use an upgrade, but for the time being, with the good and bad you may find after purchasing the G70, for it's price range it is a fairly good car. Now, the only unfortunate notice on you tube is the lack of fair service repair time. It is almost like the charging station shortage, the cart before the horse.

@TampaCEO
@TampaCEO 11 ай бұрын
@@kennethiulo52Yes, I did. Unfortunately the lease programs (at that time at least) were horrible. I ended up with the exact same payment I would have had if I had simply purchased it. Unless you have some tax advantages to leasing, I would recommend simply buying. I had regrets the moment I leased it - not about the car, but about the deal itself. With that said, I definitely love the car. I fall in love with it more and more every day I drive it. I can't imagine driving anything else. Good luck with the acquisition (lease or purchase) either way. You won't be disappointed.

@@mx3strong I am embarrassed to even tell you, but I am on the hook for $1,230 per month. I only have 10,000 miles per year. Honestly, if I could go back, I would simply buy the car. I calculated that the payment would be about the same, however: 1. I can trade / sell it any time I want 2. I can drive without mileage limits 3. Banks have programs for skipped / delayed payments (lease company does not) Good luck!

Idk maybe i dialed in the tone just right on my G70 but it sounds amazing to me. I did notice that on andro auto the sound wasnt as good as xm radio or just using spotify with bluetooth. I rarely use andro auto i dont see much of a need for it. The genesis navigation works great especially with the voice recognition software. I like the standard nav cause it then gives you directions on the dash or hud. Congrats on the car i love mine

I use android auto for the police and apple music (included with my phone plan) but that's about it. I do think the sound quietness issue is because of android auto though, and if I use a USB or radio it would sound better
@CapELarry
@CapELarry 9 ай бұрын
If you are using music apps, make sure the EQ in the app is shut off. If not, it layers it on top of the G70's EQ and it sounds terrible. Also make sure you have the audio streaming quality set to high. It'll sound far better than bluetooth or XM that way.

Good extensive review, but I personally feel you should have touched more on the ride quality. I just test drove the same car today, and in comfort mode I felt the ride quality was fantastic. Very smooth and tight, and very quiet interior with the acoustic glass. I found it to be a sublime highway cruiser.
@VanquishedAgain
@VanquishedAgain 4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! Ride is subjective I guess. No matter the mode, I find the ride on this to be very stiff and quite harsh. It doesn't bother me since I expected as much. The electronic suspension doesn't seem to make a difference to me. Still love the car but the suspension and sidewall size impacts the ride quality imo. Though the handling and balance are amazing.
@kevinbreese5739
@kevinbreese5739 4 ай бұрын
@@VanquishedAgain Wow I can't believe you found it to be stiff and harsh. Wait was yours the RWD model? The one I tested was an AWD model. Maybe the difference in weight tires make that big of a difference in ride quality?? I know many other reviewers had said it rides very nice and luxurious. And a few have said it rides nicer than the TLX type-S and many reviewers say that car rides nice. Seems like maybe something was wrong with yours or else you are used to Giant old caddys when it comes to sedans lol. For the record I'm coming from a 2018 F150 XLT Supercrew on 20's. I also have a 2017 Mustang GT Premium and my GF gas a 2015 Accord. The Genesis was smooth and quiet and I went over a couple rough roads too. Very surprised at your impression but it is what it is!

Hey. No auto stop/start that I can tell (I assume you mean the engine off) Cruise control will stop and go on its own in traffic though, there is also an auto hold function for drive-throughs. I drive almost exclusively in Sport + mode aside from on the highway and by nature of that mode the car is very jerky. I drive very aggressively though, my last 5 cars were similar when driven the way I do. It is smooth in comfort mode, however.

@Submersed24 yea I hear ya. I think the reason the audio sounded tinny for me at first was the equalizer in apple music. I turned that off and the sound got a lot better. Nice car. Funny you talk about your Charger and Challenger. Cause i have an 08 Challenger srt8 that im thinking of selling or trading for a Genesis g70. Did they give you a good trade in price?
@VanquishedAgain
@VanquishedAgain Жыл бұрын
I traded the Challenger Scat Pack for an edge ST back in 2021. It only had 3000 miles on it (traded partly because of a steering wheel noise they wouldn't fix but mostly because i got my dog Rocket and needed 4 doors), but I got what I paid for it. If I had held on to it, I'm sure I could have gotten much more for it (I sold it before The EV requirement garbage that drove the price of muscle cars through the roof). I owned the Edge for 2 years (and 7k miles) and got $35k for it, which is like 5-6k less than I bought it for, unfortunately. With the Edge ST dealers, I don't care if you're trading in the fully loaded version (that mine was) or the base version ST that stickers for 10k less. Similar story for the Challenger and Charger. I like the G70 a lot. It is a much smaller interior than a Charger or even a Challenger. My biggest complaint is with some exterior quality issues. There were some imperfections on the wheels, and my driver's side doors were misaligned a bit. They fixed the wheels and pretended to fix the door, but it's back to being (slightly) misaligned. They kept my car for 3.5 weeks, gave me no updates, and returned it filthy. So if you're buying a g70, look over it closely and don't buy it if there are imperfections that bother you. Also, I'd take a good look at the dealer before buying it. While my dealer sells a ton of Genesis vehicles, they are clearly a hyundai dealer, so I don't get anything close to a luxury brand treatment... I have a brand new Genesis/Hyundai dealer about 2 miles from my house that I'll be going to for service now, so hopefully, that's a better experience. The interior of the G70 is amazing though, I've had no issues with anything on the interior and it's as good of quality as any premium car I've been in. I don't regret buying a g70, I kind of regret buying MY G70 with the misaligned doors (barely noticeable but I'm anal and notice it), but you're getting a comparably performing car to a bmw 340i for about 10k less dollars with a 10 year powetrain, 5 year basic warranty so it's definitely a good value.
@VanquishedAgain
@VanquishedAgain Жыл бұрын
Oh, another note. Genesis had a finance deal when I bought mine 3.49% for 60 months when most others were 6% (might be more now) so thats why I jumped on it when I did. I just can't bring myself to paid these huge interest rates now. Even 3.49% was more than a percent higher than my 72 month loan on the Edge ST 😵

Yes I'm anal about things as well. My challenger has 8000 miles on it. I know dealership won't give me what it's totally worth and that's why I might try to sell it to private party first. I'm looking at a few 2023 Genesis's in my area . I like the Hallasan green or Tazman blue. Thanks for replying and giving me some information.

Good advice. I did a complete comb over on my car before I even sat down with the sales rep. I made them replace 2 wheels on the driver side. They both had scuffs on them do they swapped them out for me and buffed out another spot. Just speak up and make them make the car perfect for you. The only issue with Genesis at the moment is the dealership experience. I know they are making stand alone Genesis dealerships which might change this experience.

Excellent. The Genesis AC gets cold faster than any car I've owned. It's important to remember my car is still very new. But the AC is amazing when I do use it (rarely). I leased the G70 3.3T Sport and then bought it as the best car overall I’ve driven. Prior 4 cars? BMW 530, then 540xi, then Cadillac CTS, then BMW 440 xi Gran Coupé - and then to the G70. I think you should have studied the car a bit more before the review as you missed or misinterpreted a few of the features.

You're the second person who recently seems to think I have a negative impression of the car and I'm not sure where it's coming from. I love the G70 I'm not thrilled with the exterior build quality on my specific car (front bumper and driver's door alignment issues) but I didn't even mention that in this review. There's no question that at this price point the G70 is the best midsize sedan you can buy.

@@VanquishedAgain Thanks for troubling to reply. I did not think that you had/have a negative impression; only that you were reporting too soon - before you’d found out and analyzed all the features, both positive and negative. Just to mention… 1: Are you aware of the subwoofers under the driver and passenger seats? 2: Of course, any trunk accommodating a spare tire will be more shallow. The BMW uses run-flats, so that space deepens the trunk. Having “regular” tires on the G70, however, contributes to a more comfortable ride. Like Goldilocks, I believe the Lexus to be too soft, the BMW to be too hard and the G70 to be just right! 3: in due course you will find that the G70 has worse fuel efficiency than the BMW 3 Series. However, not quite so bad as the first impressions because the gas tank is on the small side, so restricting the range of a full tank.

@@2542207 the fuel economy on G70 won't get better lol. No matter what car I drive I'm able to achieve the lowest possible fuel economy haha. I drive the way God intended, not to save money on gas lol

you are not supposed "race" the car during the brake out period.......... not caring for the warranty, but the car needs to adjust ...... believed or not, with all the technologies that are build in now days

The manual genesis provides is pretty lacking. My Scat Packs explicitly laid out the break in procedures. Where Genesis did not. Aside from the 0-60 pulls in this video was relatively tame for the first 500 miles. I did make sure not to keep at a certain RPM or idle for long periods of time. I know that was a big one that my Scat Packs mentioned.

@@VanquishedAgain The very first chapter in the driver's manual talks about break in period. They tell you to NOT use '' launch control '' or RACE the car (excerpt from manual): copy/paste ś Do not race the engine. ś While driving, avoid sudden acceleration. ś Do not maintain a single speed for long periods of time, either fast or slow. Varying engine speed is needed to properly break-in the engine. ś Avoid hard stops, except in emergencies, to allow the brakes to seat properly. ś Do not use Launch Control (if equipped) during the break-in process. ś Fuel economy and engine performance may vary depending on vehicle break-in process and be stabilized after 4,000 miles (6,000 km). New engines may consume more oil during the vehicle break-in period

@@bigden2755 They didn't give a mileage number. 4000 miles obviously not a break-in period. Even the corvette is only 500 miles. 4000 miles would be ridiculous. Most of the modern break-in periods are like 75-100 miles and most cars don't even have a break-in period (stated)

I dont know if I want to trade my Kia K5 GT for this car
@VanquishedAgain
@VanquishedAgain 4 ай бұрын
I like the K5, honestly it depends how much you drive and value performance. The 3.3T g70 is RWD so it's going to be a much quicker car that's more fun since it's rwd. But.... it's way worse value over the k5 gt. The K5 was mid 30s when I looked for the amount I drive, I really isn't worth the car payment of the g70, it's still a fun car though. It powerslides even on dry pavement and the car is so well balanced that the slide is easy to control even when it was unexpected

@oongo8905 do you need AWD? If not I hear it's a much less purposeful driving experience. Like the RWD is a lot sportier feeling. If you don't live somewhere that gets snow I personally wouldn't bother with the AWD.

@@VanquishedAgain No I don’t need it, its just the want of a AWD car that makes it a better experience Im still deciding. The K5 GT does have some features I like over the G70. 12 Bose Speakers and Panoramic Roof. I Just wish the K5 had AWD it would be the perfect daily.
