Helmets issued in any military in the world are never rated for rifle rounds. Including US. They are useful for pistol rounds and shrapnel.

Why people think altyn must protect from rifle rounds?🤔 There's no helmet in a world that would stop a rifle rounds, so why is altyn supposed to?

ricochets are non-lethal... you can actually shoot armor at an angle and grab the ricochet bullet in the air (pistol round ofcourse).

Honestly, the 5.7 almost penetrate that helmet despite coming out of 4.8 inch barrel pistol. With the normal 10 inch barrel of the p90... that thing probably has enough velocity to go through.

Russian here, it is not actually a military helmet, to be honest) This is the commercial option of "Altyn" helmet, and those are mostly given to anti-terrorist and MVD-spetsnaz (police-controlled spec-ops, fairly similar to american SWAT) units now, so they can have a 360 protection from most common types of ammunition bandits and local terrorists might have access to. It will stop a bullet from Makarov, Kedr, etc. and something in 9x19, and will save your head from buckshots and IED-shrapnel, but it is already too heavy for a long, full-time military unit usage. Making it resistant to at least some of 5-ish mm rifle cartridges would make it literally painful to wear for more than 10 minutes, so that was never a real option. Though it must be said, that it actually WAS used in military operations by USSR army spetsnaz units in Afghanistan, but again, those were tough guys, and they were not supposed to be on the front full-time, like a regular soldier)

A:M61 is a rifle caliber armor piercing round moving about 865 meters a second while weighing 9.8 grams, as compared to even the highest grade of 9x19 the 7n31 round which is an 8 gram round moving at 600 meters a second, the impact force is an order of magnitude more for the M61 as compared to even the best 9x19 round currently in existence.Standard Ball ammunition for 9x19 is a 7-8 gram round moving at about 300 meters a second. Thus it is incredibly obvious why a helmet rated for pistol caliber ammunition would fail to successfully stop rifle caliber rounds.

not exacly a near a new hitbox for glass on this helmet . Devs planning to update armor and add not covered areas wich armor doesnt protect in 100 % procent like slick doesnt cover all thorax . I think the rework this and altyn glass in future .

Still high pen assault rifles are in meta ar-15 both M4 and HK , FAl , RPK , as val and ak-103 . ap vector can only have 30 mag in other side 9x19 7n31 is very expensive and hard to get alot of ot and ap6.3 is shit against 5-6 class armor . Still it's cheaper just to take as val ak-74m, RPK for budget gun . Meta should be full modded M4 and HK or FAL .
