I’m getting ready to buy one of these rigs from eBay or Amazon to melt gold and silver. When I go fill up these tanks will the company take them away from me and give me their crappy ones or will they just fill them up for me?

I can never get this to work. My flame is either too big/long to fit in tight spaces or too cold to braze copper or too hot and cuts holes in the copper.. i have the Bromic brazing kit. A work mate of mine was able to make a TINY flame which was able to perfectly melt and seal solder to copper in under 20 seconds

Just saying, your picture that comes up on KZfaq advertising this episode shows the flame from the torch pointing right at the tank and regulator assemblies. Not a good look. I'd change it.

That is a great catch, KZfaq just grabbed an image from the video. This was one of our first videos before we knew about custom thumbnails.

Question do you know if i can leave my torch setup in my shed without insulation or is that to cold
@dunhamservice5 ай бұрын
My torches ride in my service truck and the back isn’t heated. Never had any issues with them not working. Toughest thing is in cold weather it’s just takes a little longer to warm the metal up you’re working on.
If you read the manual for that victor set it says 5 psi for oxygen and 5 psi for acetylene. Maybe follow the manufacturer instead of some jackass on youtube. No way in hell you need 7/10 on a baby brazing tip

Ran 7/10 for years with no issue on this set as well as many others. The important thing is getting to a neutral flame. 5/5 probably would work just fine. I’m usually running a triple tip when doing work, so you are pushing a little more fuel than this 0 currently on this setup.

If it’s over 15 it’s not gonna blow up it will start drawing out that acetone and it will come out of the tip
@dunhamservice9 ай бұрын
If cylinders are tipped more than 15 degrees the acetone can be drawn out with the acetylene and the flame will sputter. Without the acetone creating a composition in the tank, acetylene will explode at over 15 psi. Here is a link to an article discussing the specific of acetylene storage and usage. ehrs.upenn.edu/sites/default/files/2018-02/Acetylene%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf
