How I set up my Oxygen Concentrator Torch so there is no more beeping when I need to use a small flame. Fix the beeping. No more alarm blaring. Just happy soldering.

Brilliant thank you. Picking up a concentrator tomorrow so now just need a oxy/propane torch (not spending £250 to get a Smith one 😫). What us your fuel gas set up?

I prefer to use propane because acetylene contaminates platinum. But I did opt for the smith little torch because I have heard from other jewelers they had bad experiences with the knock off brands. Victor is also a reputable brand. I would suggest going for the smith torch if you're making jewelry and it will quickly pay for itself and it is worth it long term. Yes it does! As long as your pressure relief vent piece is letting out enough you are able to use the super small tips.

It’s two nuts and a coupling…not a bolt… You need to give the psi size of the pressure release valve…also there is no need to place it so far away…just as long as it’s not near the flame..

What actually happens if you let the toarch continue to burn with a low flame? Or is it not safe?

Sorry for the late response. On my machine it would begin beeping when I had a low flame because it wasn't putting enough oxygen out. If you continue and let the machine beep and not let the oxygen have an outlet the oxygen will back up in the machine and damage it. So this modification with the pressure relief valve allows me to have a small flame without damaging the machine.

Very informative and pleasantly so. I’ve got all the stuff and there was only one problem. In the parts pics you have a mistake not in the pic but in its description. The hose barb adapter that accompanies the pressure relief valve hook up has the right pic of the adapter but the wrong description. It should read 1/4”ID x 1/4” MIP and you wrote 1/8”x 1/4”. And having used the set up for a while, what would you say is a reasonable length of hose coming off the tee adapter? I tried 7’ and I still get the dreaded beep.

Thank you for catching that! Oops! I will try to find out how to fix that if not in the video then I will fix it in the description. I'm sorry you're still getting beeping. 7' is plenty. It should work even if it is right next to the nylon barb, I just put it further away because I didn't want an influx of pure oxygen right next to my torch. Maybe we can figure out the problem though. There could be a few things that could go wrong. First try adjusting the flow rate on the front of the machine. I have mine set to 1 lpm. Sometimes it is finicky and you may want to try raising it up or down. Another problem could be that internally if the oxygen purity is not above a certain percentage and the machine detects that and the alarm goes off. To test that, I would run the oxygen concentrator with no attachments and if it begins beeping there is something wrong internally. In that case, it may be time to try getting it repaired or getting a new machine unfortunately. Those are my two suggestions without being there to try to fix it. I hope that helps. Best of luck!

What’s the max psi tht o2 setup puts out if u had to guess

My unit is max 5 Liters Per Minute some other models are 15 LPM but I cannot turn that into psi. I am not a mathematician and there are lots of variables to consider like diameter of hose, are there any funnels in your line, opening diameter of torch tip ect. Maybe you are good at math and can figure it out from the LPM info or you can maybe talk to a mechanical engineer or fluids engineer to figure that out for you but unfortunately I cannot help with that. That said, if you're doing jewelry work like I am there is plenty of output of oxygen I am only ever on the lowest setting 1 LPM. Good luck!

@@jojosolo5547 well I want a smith little torch so maybe my wife and daughter will take an interest in it with propane/Oxy. Im a welder and would rather keep my oxygen/acetylene to myself. I’d just like to use a little torch so I could see if it had any practical/sculpture use (which I believe it would). I’ve used a henrob 3000 before with the smallest tip and the SLT looks capable of even finer work. Thank you for your help
