Had our Rv1 for 7 years, been out in torrential rain several times and never had a single problem with any getting inside, what you do get is condensation if you sleep with all windows closed so no ventilation but it's been 100% water proof for us.

4 years I owned an rv1 just upgraded to a rv5 tell you what I used many other quick tents none come close more accessories would be amazing

What you didn't mention is they leak and after 4 weeks my tent still hasent been sorted I think my utube video when I upload it will be the first one of showing how bad they leak after only owning it only 3 months and using it once in the rain it leaks terrible and the customer service I've had has been terrible and I still haven't got it back or replaced after you having it for weeks now for so called testing...

Forest Prepper did you season the tent? I've had my Oztent for 10 years and have had no problems. Besides the usual wear and tear. I did have to replace one of the plastic inserts in one of the feet.

Check out a Kodiak Canvas tent if you can get them where you're at.

The RV-1 seems to be out of stock everywhere. Are they being discontinued? I hope not. Lost mine in the divorce and need to a new one! lol

Yup discontinued and replaced by the rs1😭. This thing is exactly what I want and they no longer make it. Really wish they make a rv2 with a lower roof

@@Pepnug There Seems to be the new released RS-2, which is exactly the same length width and height as RV-1, just smaller awning and extra integrated double mattress.

Serious quality control issues with these tents in the last two years or so since the operation was moved to China. I've seen nine.. yes nine RVs in the last six months that has serious issues (for $1000 tent) Mis-aligned front windows, gouges in the floor, waterproofing treatment missing in random patches, serious leaks where the floor joins the tent body and more. I love the RVs but ffs guys, get your act together, stop cutting corners to make profit and get your quality control sorted!

Hi, we appreciate the feedback. Just to be clear, our tents have always been made in China - there was only one original batch of 50 that was made in New Zealand back in 1994. We're always striving to be better and are in the process of improving our quality audit procedures to ensure this happens less and less

@@TheOztentGroup thanks for clarifying that Oztent. The 'made in China' story is obviously a creation of social media and incorrect assumptions. The RV3 is still the best tent I've owned in decades of camping and buying tents. It's always a compromise but this is the best fit for me.

That's why you buy one of the second hand ones up for offer that were built here in Australia instead of new Chinese crap. I'm picking up a RV1 to put up on top of an off road camper trailer. Fix it down in the corners and across the front and leave it opened up flat on top of the mattress and bedding with a torqueliner cover over the whole thing. Brilliant design but don't ruin a product by letting China get involved because people will walk away from it for something else. Quality quality quality is what people want.
