Hearing Ozzy sing with not pitch correction, no backing tracks and not over-dubs is gut-wrenching. I *love* this guy but he was WAY overdue for retirement even in 2012.

Just went back to back comparing 2018 Zakk playing this live and I am not sure why pinch harmonic sloppy Zakk gets soo much love. Gus G plays the basics of the solo clearer, his vibrato is better placed, and he is a much cleaner player. Dig this guy.

Gus G sure does pick his spots to add his personal tastes very well!! Zakk seemed to get back to playing tasteful the last couple BLS albums. He was over using pinch harmonics for quite awhile.

I understand everybody's thoughts. Bad voice, Randy, Sabbath, Geezer, Zakk, Gus... etc. Nothing is the same as something else that may be better or what you liked better... As life goes this is good... Thank you John Osbourne for existing.

Gus G is my pick as the best guitarist Ozzie ever played with and does an incredible job here. My personal favourite version is MAB "Tribute to Randy" on his "Hands Without Shadows" Album.

Revelation (Mother Earth) και Diary of a Madman... αυτα τα 2 τραγουδια ειναι πραγματικα φανταστικα... εξυπνες συνθεσεις για σολο και στα 2 και το Revelation με ενα πολυ δυσκολο σολο και το Diary of a Madman με ενα πολυ πολυπλοκο σολο... οχι δυσκολο αλλα εξυπνο! και στα 2 τραγουδια παιζει πολυ ωραια και μελωδικα... ηταν μεγαλη απωλεια για τη Heavy Metal ο θανατος του! ειλικρινα στεναχωριεμαι τωρα και ας εχουνε περασει 30 χρονια.

Imma just leave it here but this was actually zakk's version when they played in budokan. I understand the other live version from zakk wasnt as good. But look it up live in budokan in early 2000.

elpistolas44 I guess he’s referring to possible lip syncing. However, Ozzy’s voice immediately becomes inaudible the moment he looks away while the crowd’s voice (providing him for a well-needed backup, bless the fuckers) is now to be heard clearly. Then again, if he was lip syncing, he might have chosen to lip sync to a better track, haha.

Gus plays everything clean without the chorus gain haze. Zakk can play also, actually better, just drop the chorus and and GAIN NOISE.

what I don't understand is at 1:20 it's obvious Ozzy is singing with a track, but why is the track sound so bad as well? Btw, pinch-harms or not, Zack is the only axeman that can properly play this solo with emotion.

Zakk wylde's rendition is not really good in my opinion. What you call emotion is a combination of squeals and wylde vibrato here and there. While in other songs it lifts them off, in crowley is off a bit. I prefer gus g, skolnick for that one live and randy's student joe holmes. Every one of them played it clean and like randy used to in a sense. It's like this for me, rhoad's playing (and the others) could translate great with dynamics even on acoustic guitar...it's their precision and tone. Zakk wylde's, no. He is purely electric for this kind of stuff (though he has great acoustic songs on his own) and for mr crowley, he's just too zakk wylde for the feeling of the song. He doesn't connect with what the song really commands in a sense.

You know I like Gus G., but without Randy these songs lose so much of their power and intensity. He was a small guy, but had a demon like intensity on the guitar that doesnt seem ever to be able to be replicated. RIP Randy Rhoads, you never had an equal.

I pains me to say this, but this performance is better than Randy. This is truly a work of art by Gus. Randy was a phenom, but he missed the advancements of tone. Jake and Zakk propelled Ozzy to new heights with songs, or at least continued his legacy, but Gus is on another level.

φυσικα και θα ειναι του Slash πιο ευκολα και ξερεις γιατι? γιατι ο Randy Rhoads ειχε επιρεαστει απο την κλασσικη μουσικη σε πολυ μεγαλο βαθμο και ξερετε οτι δεν ειναι και ευκολη μουσικη η κλασσικη!!! νεοκλασσικη μεταλ επαιζε ο Rhoads! οποτε απλουστατα ειναι κατα χιλιαδες φορες πιο δυσκολα τα σολο του και σε πολυ πιο δυσκολες κλιμακες και διαφορες μονο μεσα σε ενα σολο! ενα ο Slash παιζει ωραια σολο δεν μπορω να πω... αλλα σε καμια περιπτωση καλυτερα απο του Gus και του Randy...

Gus was definitely very impressive but nobody seemed to fit Ozzy better than Jake overall. There’s definitely props to all of his guitarists for their playing abilities but writing also needs to be considered to decide best overall guitarist. Randy was definitely #1 in my book but Jake no doubt deserves the #2 spot followed by Zakk. Jake’s work on Bark at the Moon was a prime example.🔥👍🤘
