My mother loved this song and I found out after she passed away by looking on her KZfaq channel. She was a heroin addict and lost her life battling addiction. Hearing this song puts me in her mind and helps me to understand the pain and troubles she felt. It all makes sense and I have a new appreciation for ozzy. I dedicate this song to my mother and all the other souls gone too soon or struggling with the disease of addiction today 💜 ❤

Why, yes.. .... Time keeps moving forward, at an ever increasing speed. The longer you are here,the faster it seems to be. The wreckage of my past keeps haunting me. I wish the glory of my future ,would shine it's light in front of me- so I could see where I will go....But what hasn't already been,could cease to be, should I get a glimpse to see. So I keep searching for the answers, and I am still looking for the key. It seems to me no matter what I do- the road to nowhere is my reality ,

I have always believed that Heavy Metal came from a combination of two bands. Black Sabbath set the theme and Toni Iomi pioneer many of the guitar techniques of "Heavy Metal"... but it still had a "60's sound". Then Rush made 2112... and an entire generation subconsciously tried to recapture the sound of 2112. That's my take on where "Heavy Metal" actually comes from, which is a very controversial subject.

You are right! "Prince Of Darkness" is a misunderstanding terminology. It means he controls the darkness but not that he is dark. He is like an angel then. Its like the misunderstanding of Lucifer the lightbearer :) He lights the dark. But after all, it doesn't mean he's religious. It is to be understood more philosophically and metaphorically.

The thing I take away from the intro section is Ozzy is a new man here…clean and sober after so many, many years…he’s looking back on moments in his life that he doesn’t remember due to those addictions. He doesn’t like what he sees and it keeps getting worse with each ‘channel’ he changes to. Eventually, he gets so fed up that he blasts that TV and is done with it. Finished. Final. It was the old man left in the past and moving forward only as a new man with no regrets. Love you ozzy ❤️

You can do it I have faith in you. I’ve been an addict and alcoholic for years I got clean and sober for a few years and then my 22 year old son passed away from an accidental fent OD I relapsed so badly after that I’d drink myself unconscious every day I was at the lowest point of my life I just didn’t want to be here. Once my daughter told me she wanted nothing to do with me and wouldn’t let me meet my granddaughter because of my addictions I pulled myself back up out of the hell that is addiction and cleaned myself up. That was almost 7 years ago I met so many recovering addicts and alcoholics in recovery and learned so many of their stories to recovery. Recovery is possible and I hope someday you have your own story of recovery to tell. My heart goes out to you and everyone struggling with addiction.

Bruh, 25 year HEAVY opioid/horse addict here. Woke up one night and said to self enough is enough. Quit cold. You WILL have ‘’that moment’’. Listen to it. It took several times for that moment to donkey punch me before I listened. It’s gonna suck. It’s gonna be hell. But after a week you can function. After a month you realize how much and who you fkd. That’s the worst part of it. After that you start to physically and mentally regroup. After6 months you look back and think ‘’how the fuck did I let that happen to me?’’ Then you realize it doesn’t matter. Today is today. What you’ve done in the past is yesterday and all you can do is move forward. Be ready for some not to forgive what you did. That’s ok too .They’ve earned the right to be pissed at you. They’ll get over it. The anticipation of what’s coming to quit is way worse than the act itself.

@joshyyosh Thank you. I was beginning to think I was the only one that found a personal connection to the lyrics in this song. I live with PTSD, so everytime he says "the wreckage of my past keeps haunting me, it just won't leave me alone," I feel that on a personal level. But then Ozzy says ,"through all the happiness and sorrow, I guess I'd do it all again," and I smile a little thinking about the past and the things I've been through that should have probably killed me, but I'm still here. And so are you. Maybe you'll see this. Maybe you won't. If you do, though, happy Thanksgiving to you and yours because honestly, I was planning on going home and ending it all. You just saved a life. My life. Maybe it's worth living after all.

This and Dreamer will always be my favorite songs by Ozzy Osbourne. The lyrics really speak to the heart as so many of us endure pain on some level. Be it struggling with addictions, unhealthy life choices, trauma, etc... we all have scars and hurdles to overcome. The greatest hurdle on the road to recovery sometimes is ourselves, and the depression or lack of self worth so many of us have after being in such circumstances.

+Todd Swick i totally agree with you, his music is awesome. most of my friends think his music is pathetic and stupid, they say his voice is horrible and the way he acts is incredibly stupid. i don't get it he's amazing A ROCKK STAR LEGEND he's freaking 60 years old and he's still THE GOD OF ROCK he's made so much effort into being who he is now and he is amazing wonderfull person. I have a dream to just make any contact with him thats very ozzy fans dream. i was 7 years old when i fell in love with rock my first favorite band was ACDC and now here i am 4 years later and still have the heart and love of rock. Ozzy is my hero and i bet he's yours to. if you come here to just complain about him and dislike his music and this video why are you even here?! keep doing what you do ozzy i love you and as well as all of your fans never give up and love you for who you are your music is what makes you and your fans. you will grow old and die one and and never be forgotten i respect you Ozzy ;-;

Just keep in mind...Ozzy never wrote one lyric in his life....as Jake E. Lee what happened about that
@notrelevant4212
@notrelevant4212 5 жыл бұрын
@@rneu1978 Well actually he did write/co-write a couple of songs on this album including the first verse and chorus to this song before handing it over to the legendary lemmy to ginish it because he couldn't. And that's not from his wife it's actually from lemmy himself as well as zakk wylde vouching for him. Also this notion that he has never written anything is ridiculous when geezer butler has said a numerous amount of times that ozzy wrote a couple songs by himself while he was in sabbath as well as helping him co-write a good number of other songs including giving him the idea and helping geezer write their self entitled song "black sabbath". Ozzy has been accused of a lot of things, but it seems the only person who actually accuses him of taking credit for their songwriting is his former bassist Bob Daisley, and yet even though he claimed ozzy was taking his credit(which he figured out around 84 and swiftly filed a lawsuit against osbourne) he returned nunerous times all the way up untill the no more tears album in 91 which makes his accusation questionable at best. So for having one almost credible person accuse osbourne of not being able or willing to write songs( which is pretty beleivabe for the bark at the moon album albeit) it seems the world has condmemed the man without fact checking. Also other artist have stated osbourne wrote whole songs for them including but not limited to Lita Ford's hit single "close my eyes forever" and if thats not enough for you try the rock n roll icon Slash single "crucify the dead", or if your truly looking for an emotionally packed song of signifigance try none other than Black Sabbaths "Juniors Eyes". However, no matter what you decide i ask that you actually research what it is you are making a statement about and maybe have an inkling of (credible)evidence as to what you are refferring. Good day sir.

I was raised on Black Sabbath. Ozzy hits a realm in my mind that overwhelms me with nostalgia and memories of times much greater than today. Time when my mom was still alive, a time where everything was....... simple. This is how you hold on to them, music never dies.
