I have to agree with you 1000%. He will chase me around the house and bite my toe if I do not pick him up and snuggle him. And if he throws a fit and gets mad that means he's tired and he needs some more snuggles. He is truly a endless snuggle potato

What a cutie. I always figured they might be good companion animals because they seem so social and intelligent, much like humans are. In Colorado, we were often taught to avoid them and NEVER touch or approach them because they often carry fleas with bubonic plague and hantaviruses in that region of the country.

They might be confusing them with a certain breed of armadillos, one of the banded ones carry the plague. The rest don't. Prarie Dogs & Gophers are disease free.

I rescued a baby squirrel a few years ago and when it hit the teenage cycle it went crazy and started attacking me and I did not know that was normal for a squirrel but when I learned about prairie dogs last year. I decided this was the beginning of a new adventure. And I have fallen in love with him so much. He has a lot of attitude like I do. He has 100% Texas approved. Best baby ever

And scroll all the way down to the bottom you can see I had a baby squirrel for a little while but I had to release them because he kept attacking me and he brought blood and it was very hard on my heart because I gave him so much love and I never expected this phase to happen. But after a little bit of Google research. I did what was best and now I get a second chance with my prairie dog. He is so sweet and snuggly and he will chase me around the house and bite my toes if I do not pick him up and love on him. He is the sweetest thing in the whole world and he has healed my heart break

I have two ferrets and they aren’t 1/2 as “lovey” as your ozzy, when my PTSD dog “Tessa” crossed that rainbow bridge I was completely lost, broken, she was my everything. My best friend, my partner in crime, my saving grace, after being in two wars She was a god send. when she passed it was like someone reach deep inside my chest and ripped my heart out in one fell swoop. I wasn’t about to put myself through THAT kind of pain again, not to mention there would never be another companion like her so it wouldn’t be fair to any other dogs because…well…because thy weren’t Tessa. My fiancee asked me “What do you think about ferrets” I looked at him thinking, “man this guy is smoking something and not sharing”, I verbally responded, “a what?” He explained what ferrets were and since that day I have rescued two but they only live some, generally speaking, 6-7 years, if your lucky maybe a little longer- so now I’m proud to day my best buds are “Leo” & “Opie” anyway long story short your Ozzy is magnificent and melts me me to my toes❤ I started watching little Miss Poppy and since then I have wanted to offer my home to any Prarie Dog o dog-Ett in need❤ your Chanel and poppy’s Chanel gives my heart a hug and makes me feel good ever single time. Thank you for sharing and mean that will all my heart ♥️

I have something to tell you. Your animals do come back to you. They will come back to you over and over again. It does not matter if your dog is a ferret or a fish or a dog or a cat they do come back to you. Do not worry because your dog will always be by your side. In spirit or reborn back to you again. We do not die we just transition into something else. Your heart is okay. And it is never taken away from you

The only breed once a year and you can get them at Walter's World of Pets at the end of March and the beginning of April and they are $120 and they're like little goats that love to snuggle lol they Timothy grass and they love to chase you around and bite your toes if you do not pick them up and snuggle them and he's the best therapy pet on the planet. We have lots of them in Texas but I never thought of one for a pet before until I seen a KZfaq video called the pros and cons of having a prairie dog. Do not watch that video LOL you will also fall in love. April will be one year that I've had him. Spring is coming soon and I may have to get him a girlfriend

I have watched lots of KZfaq videos about prairie dogs and they're very easy to take care of. Timothy Hay and pellets. And he eats just about every vegetable that I eat. But you cannot give them chocolate or potatoes. Those are the two things that will kill them. But they can have macaroni and cheese and broccoli and sweet potatoes and all kinds of fruits and vegetables and nuts.

They only reproduce once a year and they have them at Walter's World of Pets in Lubbock Texas and you have to call them around the end of March and beginning of April and they go quick and they're $120 and he runs all over the house just like a cat but he's definitely not a cat LOL he's way better. As long as you do not mind your walls being chewed on every now and then and everything else you want in the house. But here's my way of thinking LOL if I'm going to buy shit and put it in my house. @@shannon2228 I will see into that. I thought about getting a monkey but even a marmoset can be so much money and in vet bills by them being exotic animals, PLUS a lot of other little things. They can be dangerous not so much the smaller ones but Monkeys are extremely temperamental. Talking about wayward teens, whoa, LOL. I got scared out of that one. I even thought of of volunteering somewhere so I could be hands on with wild life🐯😻 I thought about rats, hamsters, etc, a prairie dog has more personality and charm than a majority of humans out here now days. ADORABLE!!!

And I started doing as much research as possible and I found out that they're pretty much like a goat and they eat Timothy Hay and veggies and they are the easiest pets to put up with. They are so freaking snuggly and yes they chew on things every now and then but they're totally worth every chew mark

If he and all of his buddies were running around in the wild they would probably be eaten by Foxes or Hawks or some other wild critters. I do not feel bad at all. He is my snuggle buddy and he loves me very much and he's spoiled rotten

You can manifest any pet you like. And I chose to adorable dogs and a prairie dog and you should see my three rats. They are cute as can be. We are a happy family

And the funny thing is they are actually indigenous in this area and you can go out and see them all over the damn place. But this one is my special little angel baby

My prairie dog runs around the house and does whatever the hell he wants to do LOL and he goes back to his bed when he is tired. And yes he does need lots of love. But it does not have to be constant. They will sleep while you are gone and they will snuggle the hell out of you when you are around. If you want one you should definitely get one. Just make sure that you get to so they have a friend. I only got one because I've got other dogs and we are a big family. But if it is just you. Please get 2 and then they will have someone to play with while you're gone. And I promise you they will chase you around the house and snuggle you. They will bite your feet if you did not pick them up and smuggle them and they will chase you in the kitchen every time you have food and if they hear the refrigerator door open they definitely come running LOL cutest little suckers ever

I was a vegetarian for 20 years and I was sick as fuck but now that I switch to the carnivore diet I'm healthier and I look amazing and feel amazing. I think I will stick with the carnivore diet. But I'm glad my prairie dog eats the grass LOL somebody has to eat the grass

You do know that plants are sentient and they have feelings and they cry and they move and they sing and they dance. They are amazing sentient beings. And when you kill them they actually feel the pain. Just like humans and animals. What makes you better because you eat vegetables . they feel everything

I have Rh negative blood and I found out that I have to have meat. I am iron deficient if I do not have meat. And I have been very sick my whole life until I switched to the carnivore diet. I've been on the carnivore diet for 2 years now and I've never been this healthy and I'm 55.

Are there people that sell these as a pet or do you take a baby away in the wild? I am surprised they can somewhat be demesticated. With sharp teeth and claws are they very destructive? If you took them outside would they take off on their own never ti return? My kids had many animals as pets but no praire dogs in Iowa but found in Nebraska I guess.I assume they smell like most rodents.

You can get them at Walters World of Pets in Lubbock and they only have them once a year because they only breed once a year and I do not know where they get them. But they are $120 and he is no trouble at all. He is very sweet and everyone is very surprised that he is so tame. And I only found out about prairie dogs about a year and a half ago. I am very pleased to have him in my life. He is nothing except a snuggle bomber. He is an amazing therapy pet. He gives me all the love that I need. I am a stay-at-home worker. And he keeps me calm and happy

You do not have to trim his nails but you can if you want to. He does not try to scratch you. He is like a cat and he can scratch you if he wants to. But he is actually very sweet and gentle, and he loves my dogs

And I do take him outside sometimes. And he will run around with the dogs and he is so freaking cute but when he is ready to come in the house. He goes straight to the house. He is the boss

There is a channel here on KZfaq called the urban Rescue Ranch and the gentleman that runs the channel is named Ben and he is the one that rescued a baby prairie dog a couple of years ago and his baby prairie dog is now transitioned to the higher realms. Animals are like Guardian angels. They are so sweet and so innocent and they really do protect you and love you. A girlfriend of mine came over a few days ago and she has a butt load of cats and Ozzy was very pissed off and he scratched her and he got mad and bit me. I think that was his way of telling me get that bitch out of my house lol he does not like kitty cats

And one day I was walking across the floor and I accidentally stepped on his foot because he was chasing me around under my feet and he got mad when I stepped on his foot and he bit my foot lol it was the funniest thing you ever seen. It was like a honey badger (mosquito size) trying to bite your ass
