This line represents the main character so incredibly with him eventually choosing to become a mindless cog in the machine that does not question orders and acts blind to his actions. A beast not thinking of his prey.

I love how the armoured ppl often get the drop on their enemies with the use of tactics, but often choose not to take advantage and fire first. Its like "Oh hey rebels are aiming at us, the invincible dudes with machineguns. I wonder if they will scratch my armour's paint this time."

God this movie is a masterpiece, even the blast of the mg-42’s firing is utter perfection. It’s not some generic underwhelming machine gun sound heard in all Hollywood movies nor is it some sci-fi esc sound that’s trying to hard to be cool, it’s a deafening roar that overpowers and dominates every other sound in the area, absolutely beautiful sound design

The way "setting sun" almost sounds like "second sun" is super ominous in the context of this video

What's crazy about it is that the entire movie they make him feel very human and you feel like you can empathize with him and then in the finale they undo it all when he puts on the suit and becomes completely cold and heartless. It's genuinely amazing.

although the song is not about war, but about mourning, loneliness and depression, the theme of the anime fit well, the animation is really good

Oh man. I remember watching Jin Roh cuts on youtube before I joined the army all those years ago. It still holds up. There's an aspect to it where people want Jin Roh to be a real thing. They want the wolf brigade to actually exist to fight against what seems like people that want to destroy orderly society.

Jin roh is a master piece. The song fits perfectly with how the wolf and redhood are doom.

I LOVE this movie! I remember watching it the first time in my teens and it blew me away. It was part of my discovery of "darker" anime movies. This, Akira and Ghost in the Shell. It's gone under the radar for many people, apparently which is a shame. It's so good.

I think it was 2019. I was searching through the internet archive for a random movie to watch. And I came upon this. The first time 3 minutes into the movie I was like "Well, fun exposition, this is gonna be a serious one I guess." The first scenes with the people in the streets throwing bottles and setting things on fire came and I got sucked in because of the good animation. Then I saw the little girl, all serious and obviously working with the cult, and my first thought was "How did you end up here? It almost feels like your character doesn't fit in here," and I immediately started rooting for her because they were setting her as this young protagonist that represents the innocence, surrounded by war. The thing is... the moment all of those people got shot, I knew by the atmosphere, "...no, this is not quite...right...", and I started getting very tense and uncomfortable while she was chased. I was still negating the possibility of her dying. Even when she was held at gunpoint, all the soldiers to her right and she was pulling the string... Until the last second, I thought somehow she's gonna make it. I actually started bawling my eyes out the moment I saw her getting shot.
