In the first 25 seconds of the video I thought we were looking at gaps in rafters and some 15mm copper pipe coming down, then all of a sudden a hug thumb appeared and I realised these were much, much smaller ;-)

@ 29:17 There is your clue how they got them in there in the first place... Jacked up above where those R.S.J are... Then lowered down on2 the rubber matting... With 2 x 450 Gallon tanks... Them R.S.J R going nowhere...

bypass was the word ur looking for, hope ur going to put a double check valve on it though, joining the well water and mains together. Thats much better work than changing boilers and cylinders like last week crammed into an airing cupboard. Used to do quite a lot of that kind of work
@benfrost8697
@benfrost8697 Жыл бұрын
is there any mains water involved here? I'm not sure 😕
@scotsdunc
@scotsdunc Жыл бұрын
Potable water might have been a better word. The other tank is fed by the main and is supplying potable water to houses so yes a d/check valve is required. Quite easy for a halfwit 10 years down the line to open up these valves to maintain supply whilst they cleaned the potable tank out not giving it a thought and filling the pipe to houses with untested well water. Something similar happened on a farm in fife years ago when irrigating the crops, took water from a well and connected onto the irrigation system which was also connected to public supply with no backflow prevention and contaminated the whole area. Or am i remembering the previous video wrong and both sets of tanks are fed from the well? I had it in my mind that the tank u fitted the pump onto had been connected to the main, i remember pete sayinv something about the galv pipe that had burst bridging the 2 different systems

Great video as always and something different. Can u ask if you cut out the tanks with the saw it looks like the tanks were fibreglass so why did you not wear masks ???? to stop you breathing in the dust , we all live and learn and you are up for learning. Love the vids
