When the boilers a pressure tested at the factory, they’re taken to system pressure and vacuumed down to get all the water out. The residue water is held by the heat exchanger and internal pipework the bungs are then fitted to protect the box. Personally it’s a good idea boilers are tested at the factory. We all fit what we are comfortable fitting and installing some people like fitting Worcester’s. Others fit Baxi, Ideal or Vallaints. Great video as ever and Happy birthday to your Dad! Glad he’s recovered 👌🏻

The spigen gear is really good. Every phone case I've had has been spigen and they do a great job of stopping breakages!

A little tip, start the screws first by a few turns then fit the filling loop then do them up. Prv is a little trickier and could be better designed but not impossible. Great video as always.

Been waiting for about a month for the spare cutter wheels for that Milwaukee. Love it

I fit Worcester’s everyday of my life as I work for the council, and yes the 4000 PRV is the worst design flaw ever, now I pre solder onto the bend and put it on the boiler after it’s on the jig and then drill out the wall after the boilers on much easier then the plastic piece, as for filling loop put the screws in first only a bit then tighten once filling loop pushed in 👍

Great vid as usual pal. It’s mad to think I do this all day then watch someone else, especially having the same struggles….it’s refreshing ! I hate Worcester’s and just refuse to fit them, would literally fit anything but them. You may as well build the boiler yourself . Glad the old man is ok 👍

Fit loads of Worcester boilers, prv is a pain but the rest of the instruction is far easier than other manufacturers
@stephengunner30472 жыл бұрын
I felt your pain with that PRV connection. You should send this video to Worcester and ask them for their comments
@jakerawson16472 жыл бұрын
Pipe the PRV up when you put the boiler on last. So much easier. As for filling loop use a wera joker ratchet hex key 👍🏻

My next big purchase will be a press fit tool. They are an amazing bit of kit. Whites idea was it for thx customer to get a Worcester boiler ? Great vid 👍
@MrRedspanner2 жыл бұрын
Went from being on a site fitting Ideals for 5 years turned up at my next site to find out it is Worcesters, my heart sank. All our pipes are 1st fixed to go straight into the valves, so if you use the keyholes for fixings on the jig, you have to take off every valve and put them on one by one. The top part of the jig sways more than a spiders web on a windy day, as there is no stabilty. The PRV connection, dont even get me started. I not ever going to go on about the flue turret, bloody things.

Never had a problem with fitting the prv, a bit fiddly but takes about a minute if that, just got to spin the nut anti clockwise to line it up with the plastic thread then runs up nice and easy 👍

I just mark the bottom or top depending on style of the existing rad before removing.

The way I work out how to hang new rad same level as old vales is measure from the floor to the centre of the vales then floor to the top of the bracket then minus one inch, smack on every time.

Hey that prv is not as bad as you think I fit at least 2 or 3 worcester every week and it's pretty straightforward just have your pipe ready/planned and hang the boiler do that prv nut and then solder the joints

Never used a laser level to hang a rad to old valves, just pencil, tape and level. I like the 22-23mm or as I call it 1".
@adammillar272 жыл бұрын
I like the jig on Worcesters for piping up when soldering, means you don't burn the base of a boiler! But agree that PRV is the worst design they've ever made!! Those new 4000's are pretty horrendous to fit and don't like the digital pressure gauge, that customers can't see. Great video again mate
@fizzerpilot2 жыл бұрын
Great vid as usual, Just a quick tip from me Get yourself a solenoid magnet from any refrigeration supplier and tie it to some string to retrieve lost metal tools down cavities or other drops zones and keep it in the plastic box it comes in to stop the magnet collecting other crap, Just saying

I'm glad you slate Worcester boilers, they are most awkward boilers to fit, keep it simple fs.
@joncoke82082 жыл бұрын
Opinions on the worcester is an installers boiler from the point of piping the jig, prv is absolute bollocks should be brass save cross threading, looks nice with the casing and flue is easy to fit, wiring blocks are shit no room for wires, also no room to work on them
@ElTelBaby2 жыл бұрын
@ 18:33 Top Tip... Never put a light bulb in your back pocket & sit down... Having lost a few bits down cavities myself;... all metal objects... Strong Magnet tired to paracord or string;... & fish it out... I've even made a pair of Footprints... As 4 that gigantic void;... I have a selection of old tyre inner-tubes... Folded in half & inflate...

@matthewnapleton30002 жыл бұрын
Before you put the keyless link in put the Allan key bolts in place 1st then put the filling link in place,tighted bolts up,job done. As for the PRV,it can be a pain and I do wish it was a brass connection with a rubber insert washer,but to take an hour is a joke. Walk away and take 5 mins. The pre plumbing jig is excellent, especially if your working in a tight space, and you don't have to take your pipework down and to the side if your pipework needs to go up.
@brianbennett59182 жыл бұрын
I feel your pain with those little screws,especially when your eyes are starting to go 😳
@Ben-wg2cm2 жыл бұрын
I install Baxi’s and nothing else if a customer wants a Worcester I tell them to go else where. I don’t know how Worcester get best which buy because they are not engineer friendly. Can you connect the PRV connection pipe before hanging the boiler and then finish piping up the PRV when the boiler is on the wall?
@paulsmith29312 жыл бұрын
Is as wai for about ten years, and fitted them for years before that as well always been terrible boilers to fit and repair, expensive to buy but parts cheap enough, only fit Worcester’s now if the customer is adamant that’s what they want. Nice to see it’s not just me that have the those problems

@plumbertime2 жыл бұрын
Pipe it up then fit the prv last and pipe it up. it’s easy to screw it on when the boilers on the jig As for the filling loop just do any 2 holes. It doesn’t have to be opposites. It’s only holding it in I guess they leave the water in to show it’s tested. If you know water is there it’s not hard to not drop it everywhere. Always start on the return nut too as it’s the hardest. 1 hour to do that prv 😂 Jesus Maybe next time he should leave the orange bit on so it can do it’s job and help him
@stuartcraigon20032 жыл бұрын
Exactly mate! Every boiler is tested at the factory, it's well known and documented in the installation instructions that there may still be water inside. Just take it upstairs upside down or drain the water out outside, duh! Some people like Ben are just moaning fu*ckers 🤣

PRV is so dumb, but the jig is a brilliant idea saves working in a cupboard with a boiler above your head. May not be the easiest to install but sure are the boiler brand out there.

Hi Paul ---i'm not a Worcester boiler fn ether -- the best worcester boilers were before condensate boilers began -- the RSF 24 + 28 , also the early 24 + 28 junior were a lot easier to fit + to work on --- like it too that your elderly customers moved out while you fit the boiler -- wish mine did , -- i get them following me around in the house , standing watching me for hours , standing on my tools -- and talking me to death -- what a job eh -- we should get payed in gold -- take care Jim ...

Thanks for the video, regarding hanging a radiator with the pipes previously installed, thanks for the tip - I’m a diyer who has 3 rads to change over - with regards to the centre of the radiator - (its a like for like rad, with different brackets positions) do I work out the middle of the horizontal between the pipes and transfer this to the new rad, this way I know where to place the vertical and horizontal axis of the bracket?

This model Bosch boiler has a good heat exchanger but its ''Critical'' you treat the system with inhibitor and dont just rely on the magnaclean, any warranty is Void without inhibitor...
