It was very smart of you to keep the covers on the radiators. Most painters are very careful, but accidents do happen. Your boiler install was magnificent as usual. I hope it's open for display instead of closed up in a cupboard.

That is definitely the best way of installing flow and return to the rads and a very neat installation. An improvement would have been using a set of underfloor manifolds then you could have all lockshield wide open and do system/rad balancing at the manifolds. Useful for future maintenance down the line too. The whole install of boiler/manifolds looked very neat - homeowner must be chuffed.😀👍

Evening PB plumbing, really great video, love the use of MLCP, the 16x15 socket spigot adaptors increase the number of joints, I work for Valsir and sell the range of MLCP with the opportunity for direct accounts, we do a socket socket 16x15 coupling or a 16x15 rad tail this maybe an option for you…. Great videos 👍

Great video, love the MLPC pipe, seen many alternatives to copper in use here on KZfaq but this pre lagged material is a game changer. Not sure how it fits in the DIY market. I’ve seen the gas pipe in use, when my old bf boiler dies and a condensing boiler is needed, the current 15mm is too small, boiler couldn’t be further away from meter, no cooker now either so it’s a new 22mm along the outside of the house or the flexing used here under the poor access floor. Cost/time will be a serious contender. Keep training with the cold showers.

Great video 👍🏽,did the same system at my sister's house using manifold feeding radiators, Ideal for bigger homes costs a bit more as having to zone each room with stats,but save on running costs as it only sends heat to which room is called for, recommend this for some of our customers too.

I dont recommend using ANY Pushfit fittings on the reducing spigot adaptors. (eg, 16mm MLCP to 15mm Spigot) The tail is too smooth so the internals of a pushfit fitting have nothing to grab onto. More than likely any standard domestic pressure will blow the fitting(s) off. Just be cautious.

10:44 Any particular reason why go from MLCP to Copper again for radiators ? Here in Belgium we use i think for 15-20 years or more Alu-Pex ( from Frankische or Heco and other brands ) On new builds and reno's.. At my house all te MLCP comes out the wall and bends in to the floor ( no floorboards here but tiles and screed ) bend with a spring directly in the radiator block and you don't see any pipework . The extra work and compresson fittings are expensive .. ( as you said you needed 30 mlcp to copper fittings those are not cheap .. and 90 degree copper compression and you need at least 6 crimps per radiator .. if going directly with MLCP to the rad 0 crimps ) . But never the less very nice job . Oh btw the collector is also something we do for radiators and underfloor heating .. So every radiator had is own 2 pipes ( flow and return) to the collecor on evert level of the house .. ofcourse the feed of collector is then with thicker alpex .. or copper ( EXPENSIVE dees days )

Us english are behind when it comes to using these techniques on domestic hydronics. Main reason not many people are willing to pay for skilled and trusted work. Using MLCP p2p or laying throughout the property makes complete sense. We do this standard in ashp/gshp installs Pre-insulated 32mm 25mm 20mm for heating and hot/cold suppies & 16mm for UFH is quick, clean and fool proof. Not sure why we use copper to connecting up to the radiator valves... i think its just habit. Just like how we pipe the rads bboe vs tboe Copper is so expensive now i just doesn't make sense to install it underneath floors ect. We use it mainly piping up cylinders, boilers, hydroboxes Hopefully pete can join us one of our ashp/gshp installs and get some good content 🙂

I asked the exact same question .. works perfectly .. my 10 rads are like that . mclp direcy in the oventrop tcv . 6 crimps per radiator under the floor .. connecting directly would save a lot of time and materials .. buy maybe cosmetic reasons ? Or maybe lack of experience with MLCP .. seems not realy common in UK .. first time i see it in youtube by an uk plumber ..

I'm in a UK housing association property. My rads are mlcp direct into trv/lockshield. Comes out centre of radiator at bottom and across to each side. Only trouble is they've just slung the mlcp anywhere in the walls running diagonally with no clips🙈
@aerobar2551

I’d say it’s a cosmetic thing and also think that pipe is 16mm not 15mm to tie in at standard rad valves, I’ve similar system and changed to chrome tube where ties into rads, just looks a bit better hard piped at rads than plastic. One thing that’s handy was I put valves straight off the manifold so can shut each radiator individually if ever have an issue or want to change rather than shutting / draining system. Enjoying all the uploads PB cheers.👍
