@@DCAutoEnhancement You're welcome. I just watched this video lastnight but I'll get it fixed over the weekend. One moment my AC I working then after a few days it goes out and my guage sits on cold and my fan will blow even if I back up 2 feet in my driveway. Lol the engine light doesn't come on the guage just doesn't move.. but when the guage moves to its normal position that's when the AC works again.

Great video. I managed to replace my sensor in about 5 minutes. Unfortunately it didn't fix my issue, so I'm not sure what to do now. Having a mechanic check the wiring is going to cost way more than the $15 sensor I just replaced.

Thanks for the video. I’m attempting to change the ECT sensor on a 2016 Chevy Colorado with the 2.5L L4 engine, but on mine it is between the back of the engine and the firewall and the hood shroud under the windshield comes out and over the rear of the engine. I know where it is and what to do but I wasn’t sure if the C-clip had to come all the way off or if it was the kind that stays attached. I’ve got my answer and this will help immensely. Thank you!

@@DCAutoEnhancement the only video I’ve found on my model of engine the guy records his video in vertical, moves the camera too much, and his hand are constantly in the way. Right now I’m having a disagreement with a mechanic at work who says my car should have two temp sensors, but I’ve only found one, front of the engine the right of the exhaust manifold, and far left of the thermostat housing. All that’s beside the point I’m getting at. I’m getting an alert that says “Engine temp too high, turning off A/C”, no check engine light, but the instrument cluster not showing temperature, either through the mechanical gauge or the digital DIC. Additionally the cooling fans run for 5 to ten minutes after the car has shut off.

I looked back at the video, it looks like you just have to push down on the gray tab closest to you and pull. Sometimes it helps to push the tab and push the connector toward the sensor then back toward you.

I believe I found the lower one, I'm holding out hope that the coolant temp in the video that I replaced was the issue. Temp gauge was dropping to c not reading any temp and the fan was constantly running with a obvious check engine light. I noticed that when I replaced the one in the video the fan was still running and the temp was still not reading. My question is would it have to take some cycles and mileage to run its course and the computer to pick up on it? I disconnected the battery it's obviously back to reading temp and no fan. Just hoping it doesn't come back
