the second mk5 ford mondeo 2 litre diesel with the engine oil level rising. this time there was a code to go on...p2000-00 which led me to replace the diesel particulate filter front and rear hego sensors which cured the fault.
The vehiclr has covered nearly 300k miles.

Hey Alan! loving the videos - helped me sort out a number of problems in the last couple of years! My current one is similar to this - but not the same resolution! I have a 66 plate 2.0 180 with 111k miles and with a regular service history. 2 months ago during a 5 hour drive, EML popped up and limp mode, Key off - Key on cleared limp and EML and finished the last hour drive without issue. When i arrived, i read codes - i had a low oil pressure alert, and the P2000:00-64 codes. i cleared these and they didn't come back straight away...when i checked the engine bay i found not a lot of water because the thermostat housing had starting leaking! Managed to get home and have now replaced the complete EGR assembly, cleaned the TB, replaced the 'stat housing, Oil pressure sensor, IAT sensor, DPF pressure sensor and hose assembly and both HEGO sensors. On top i did a full major service, cleared all codes and checked all ok. After a 10 mile run, the P2000:00-64 code has come back and now keeps re-appearing. I've run a static regen which ran successfully and ended up at 9% soot (oddly i never see smoke out the back when doing a regent or when the car runs one). after another run, the P2000 code is back. I've also checked the oil and the level does NOT appear to be going up during these events; but the car is doing DPF regens approximately every 80-100 miles - i can see exhaust hitting 615-620 and the mileage since regen reset to 0 (sometimes after a few attempts). I'm out of ideas - have you seen this problem?

I have such a problem. after changing the oil, I noticed an increase in the oil level. I'm just dumping the error for now. I'm not doing anything. The engine is 1.5 liters diesel.

@@DratewkaSalixLWikle No, I haven't decided yet. I noticed that after using the dpf cleaner in the fuel, the p2000 error began to appear less frequently.

Interesting video Al, cheers. I own a Mondeo 66 plate, 2.0 litre diesel, my engine light came on the other day , no messages and the car drives fine. That was 2 days ago, had it booked in for a diagnostic this morning. The engine light went out yesterday afternoon. The diagnostic showed the P2000-00 nox code. My car has done 90000 miles. Will keep an eye on it and see what happens.

Hi Alan, been following you for some time. Interestingly I regularly get P2000 come up but only on long journeys. I guess it happens during a regen. On my 17 plate 170 it brings up the EML light which prompts me to read the DTC's. I just have got in the habit of resetting it which is probably once a month. Never had problems with high oil level if anything it's heavy using a litre probably every 1500 miles with 112,000 miles on the clock it's the worst oil burner I have had since the 1980's no oil leaks or other issues which is strange🤔

Alan: removing the sump isn't too much of an issue Rusty 8mm sump bolts: c'mon lads, we'll round off, we'll seize in and we'll show this bloke how good we are at fastening the pan down. It ain't coming off today, Mwahahahaha!!

Had that P2000 code on mine for over 70k miles intermittently. Dealer updated software and it didn't cure it. Engine ran fine and oil level never rose. Just cleared the code when it brought engine management light on.

Alan, write if you have a moment, what should be the correct differential pressure in dpf (when the car is not running) 2.0 tdci 150km mondeo mk5 if the dpf burned out (after regeneration)? how much should it be if the dpf is around 50% soot? Thank you for your help

Hi Alan,I had the same code on the scanner, driving my focus mk4 daily for around 120km per day...cleared it,now I shall see if this shit comes back,car is bought second hand from a Ford dealer,with timing belt changed,cam chain changed,and fresh oil...hope this goes away if not will take to the shop,luckily it's under guarantee

Having exactly the same problems as your car ,I’ve also changed the hego sensors ,the oil has stopped riseing ,but the oil change light did come back on after 2,300 mille ,I’ve now reset it ,need to reset the sensors as my scanner won’t let me

I've got a 2011 C-max with a 2L Duratorq. It's doing a regen nearly every time I go on the motorway every few days. I got a code pop up a few months ago about the glow plug in the regen injector so I have a new 5th injector to put on but this has thrown another possible problem into the mix. What I thought might be going on is the 5th injector wasn't working properly but the engine was adjusting timing (or whatever it does during a regen) so it wasn't fully regenerating but clearing enough out to stop the DPF fully blocking. Need to put Forscan on and have a look

Dpf will be full of ashe, the only fix is to remove dpf from vehicle and have it flash cleaned in a machine and refitted, this is very likely why it keeps regenning

I have an odd problem on my Focus mk2. Something caused a blown fuse in the circuit for reverse light. I do have aftermarket parking sensors. I replaced the fuse, the reverse light worked for 1 day and it stopped again. The fuse is intact. The light hasn't worked for 15 days, just up till today. I noticed for the last 6 days that the ABS light stays ON for 2 seconds after starting the car which is a first timer. Today, I tried not to engage the handbrake at all - and guess what, reverse light started working! I have 0 idea what to do next. edit: I tried a new bulb a month ago, but didn't help

Has anyone seen this on a Mk4 Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (mine is an '09 with 130K on the clock). I've had the DPF replaced as it was starting to corrode and the hoses had perished. Since then I've done a few thousand miles and then the Engine Malfunction warning appeared and a warning to change oil. When I went to change the oil I didn't check the level the first time but changed it. Then Engine Malfunction appeared again after about 50 miles with code P2263 - Powertrain Turbo/Super Charger Boost System Performance. My local garage think it's the turbo but I've never really had trouble with that. When I checked the oil level it was totally over-full. There's no suds or froth so I'm assuming it's fuel not coolant. Does anyone know if the DPFs for these have a seperate fuel injector or does it get pumped in on the exhaust cycle?

hi, your car does not have a nozzle to squirt the fuel into the dpf ...not an expert on these early models but can only assume the engine ecu controls the fuel injectors in order to carry out a regeneration while driving. Normally the dpf will have to be blocked to the point that the ecu is constantly trying to regen the dpf which would cause your engine oil level to rise but I have never seen the oil level rise significantly in the space of 50 miles either so would question have you overfilled it when you carried out the oil change. the code you are getting I suspect would relate to the solenoids next to the high pressure fuel pump, they get week and do not control the turbo actuator arm quickly enough... there are also many vacuum pipes that could be perished or just not connected which will cause your code. if you get it fixed then great but some who have these issues end up just carrying out a dpf delete and ecu remap rather than a constant headache trying to fix something that nobody has an answer to, good luck

What about only P2000 code without other codey? Replaced already Lambda sensor on DPF, NOx sensor after cat under car-last sensor... Was told that DPF was already changed at 30 000km of car mileage. Car has atm around 115 k km. Any solution?

Those are oxygen sensors, 1st used to monitor a/f ratio, 2nd monitoring oxidation catalyst. Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor (HEGO) There is only one nox further down which has a module attached to it Edit: I just looked at the design, looks like nox sensor does not exist, it must be using o2 sensors combined with some clever algorithm to figure out nox trap efficiency. Nox cat is probably combined with the dpf to save cost The sensor further down with a module is temp and particulate matter sensor which monitors dpf performance

I had the p2000 on a mark 5 mondao but it was a down stream problem And no rising oil level. So that tells me it's the number 1 NOx senser that makes the oil level rise

Can some one give me some advice please just bought 11 plate Mark 4 Mondeo 2.0 diesel as a cheap run around problem I have is seems to be difficult in selecting the correct gear in other words you don't know if it's in first or third when changing up and down the gears goes in easy enough as I said is this a simple fix or anybody help thanks in advance

What about p2000 together with p0132(00)-heated oxigen sensot(HO2S) 1 bank 1- high voltage. Heated O2 sensor circuit high voltage. (Bank 1, sensor 1). No oil level rising. Do you think it is the hego1 sensor?

the o2 sensor is high up on the exhaust manifold, not very easy to get at but does sound like your problem, would be worth replacing it

Could be worth checking yours again Alan ,mine with the exact seem problems ,after 1,000 milles the oil contamination is showing up in the ecu again and can only cleared by the dash ,after 2,500 Mille though the oil level is still the same 😂

I have that problem and I bought 2 nox sensor top and bottom one along with the dpf pressure sensor and still the same but to be honest I haven't reset the value of them any suggestions?
