You know, guys, if you use a syphon pump and pull out the dip stick. You can siphon out the oil from the top. This will make it 100 times more of a cleaner and simple job. 👍

About how many qts does it remove. I'm about to do my filters and like the idea of measuring what I take out to make replacing the fluid easier. Guessing sucks lol

Use Mopar for all the parts- 2 filters, shift solenoid, and Mopar Automatic Transmission fluid.

Thank you for the video. I really appreciate the layout screenshots for the bolts that need to be removed. I took a lot of screenshots for my project. But it would have been nice to know what the torque specs are on the valve body. But other than that, this video was very helpful.

I have replaced shift solenoid f. But still no 1st gear code still on . Could be ground or bad pcm. I'm at a loss.same thing with 02 sensors bank 1 any advice?

Excellent clear video.... one of the best I've seen. I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 4.7L engine and the same transmission that's giving me a P0765. Not sure if I will need to replace the shift solenoid yet, or just replace the fluid and filters... but since I have to drop the pan anyway it may be worth replacing it at the same time. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Have you ever service your transmission? What I did first was change the fluid: drain and refill and change both transmission filter. The code came back on and I had to replaced the shift solenoid - after replacing the shift solenoid and changing the fluid again - check engine light never came back. This truck has more than 300K miles. I would order the shift solenoid on RockAuto.com (dealer price is more than 750.00 plus tax and at RockAuto it was only 195.00 plus tax OEM Mopar- and buy the Transmission Fluids and (2) Transmission Filters at the dealer When I drain and replace filters: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iJOkn5Oo1Leug3k.html

@@RookieRepairs Its been 3 years since the code came on my 03 truck. We were moving at the time and just made sure all the fluids were okay and made more than a dozen trips hauling a full stock trailer. Since then it just sits and gets used very little. I need to do the brakes and a few other things and while I am at it going to get this done as well. I am going to have my local certified guy do it. He is cheap and fast and this gives me a better understanding about how it is done. Not sure what the price would be for the part where they order it. RockAuto does have low prices on damn near everything!

Having issues with 1997 dodge ram extended passenger van transmission... Will not come out of first gear. Any ideas? Is it the same fix as this video?

I tightened my trans pan bolts to 80 inch pounds. Spec says to do it 105 inch pounds. I'm worried about snapping a bolt so I'm a little concerned. At 80 it seems good and I put a new gasket on it.

Did you replace both filters? Did you use the OEM Mopar parts? The shift solenoid is new Mopar? Have you checked the fluid level? Make sure you connected the connector

I just replace the shirt solenoid and it didn’t fix my issue , am I gonna replace the trans ? My issue was that it wouldn’t go in 4 speed , did some research and I decide to replace shift solenoid , but before that someone said to add a Lucas trans fluid but it made it worse now all it does is jumps from 2 to 3 and 3 to 2 while running and sometimes it won’t change into second until I do it my self Yesterday I replace the shift solenoid and it didn’t fix my problem should I just replace or rebuild my trans at this point ? It’s 2007 hemi 4x4 Trans was rebuild not long ago ( 3 years max )

My 05 gives me that same code an will shift slow until I cut the truck off an start it again after a day or so the code will clear its self just wondering if yours was doing the same

Have you checked your ATF level? Is your fluid dirty? First thing I did is checked my fluid level- it seems to be clean on the dipstick but once I drain the fluid - it was dirty dirty. Your fluid might be dirty and solenoid might be clogged or faulty. When was the last time you service your transmission? If you have not I would do this service when you get a chance. Buy all the parts at the Dodge dealer and replace it: 2 transmission filters, transmission fluid, shift solenoid (I got this online on RockAuto for 255.79 at the dealer they wanted $850+ for solenoid only). This truck has over 318,500+ miles on it and still drives like new… check engine light never came back. If you have additional questions- reached out to me on my Facebook page for a faster response.

Ok I will change the fluid I had a transmission shop try to figure out what was going on an it shifted right both time's I took it two different shops they both told me the fluid was not dirty but was getting close to the time to change it thanks for your input

Yes, when looking at the transmission fluid it appears to be clean on the dipstick but once you get the transmission pan out you’ll see that the fluid is dirty. I did the fluid change first but check engine came back - so I did it again but this second time I replaced the shift solenoid and light never came back. Best of luck.

When I got my truck I did a full fluid swap, I mean everything as it had a good amount of miles on it already. After a few days it started to shift slow and found out that I have a tiny leak in the main seal so we added a quart of lucas which stopped the leak. I check it on ever trip and when we were moving the light came on and started to shift slow. We hauled some really heavy loads with it. I cleared the codes after moving and the lights come back on and the shifting is sometimes slow and sometimes not. The truck sits for a long time before its used. The last time we used it has been more than a year. A few start ups here and there and a few moves and that is about it. Did not even put the new stickers on the truck last year. Going to do that when we get new tags this month as I plan on taking it in and having them do a bunch of work to it. Its the most expensive cheap truck. I did front, rear, transfer, transmission oil, radiator. 16 spark plugs and brake fluid when I bought it. As you can see that was costly. I have a full set of spare tires. I have a 8x9 foot flat bed on it and nice new headlights.
