It's not the tool, it's your brain behind that tool! PCB high reliability repair and rework for 2M , IPC standards, and other's needing top standards in soldering and rework. Methods that meet or exceed OEM's standards.Used by Navy/Air Force/USMC/Coast Guard 2M Miniature/Microminiature Electronics
People believe Pace gear is expensive. I tell them you fix one PCB that's out of circulation and the gear pays for itself and your customer is delighted the system works for its intended use even though the system is 20 years old. This gear is a profit center! Very Best, Marc

Hi Marc, I worked at Pace Inc in Laurel for a few years back in the mid-90's. Worked for Joanne in the Config/Doc Control dept. Watching your video brings back the memories... I'm a software engineer now, but I have a PPS-25 w/SP1-A Sodr Pen on my desk that I use building boards for hobby (for now) work in my spare time. Joanne tried to get me into one of the training classes at Pace, but it never happened. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing your videos with us!

Most soldering guides on KZfaq range between half-assed and borderline sabotage. No wonder the average hobbyist is too scared to solder PCBs. They follow the aforementioned guides and damage their projects. Your channel and tutorial videos therein are significantly better than the best of what I have seen on KZfaq. In short, it is a privilege to have this video accessible on KZfaq. The comment is a take on the closing lines from the film Batman: The Dark Knight. Basically, this tutorial is underrated.

These old Pace VHS tapes go back to when I was taking HIGH SCHOOL electronics way back in 1982. Pre-employment drug screen testing for THC was so expensive back then almost no one did it. Drugs like cocaine & meth were out of your system in 96 hours, so a little heads up, and those shops were full of stoners and partiers. Solvents were still chlorinated back then too.

Miroslav Miljkovic Thank You for your complimentary note Mr. Miljkovic See the paceworldwide.com and see process guides for many procedures on various PCB's. Pace's "Cir-Kit" will help you save older boards. My Apple MacBookPro needed a few QFP's and they were replaced easily using components from a scrap board, and I was back in business. The repair paid for the kit! The tech used pace and pace process guides to show him how safely. Avoid low melt large plastic range solder kit's for component removal as they will contaminate the Intermetallic layer which is then much less reliable with continued thermal cycling. Medical , avionics, process control boards in manufacturing aren't deadly like nasa but a big loss when the machine stops working. Failed Med systems and police and emergency communications systems and traffic lights are also critical and life and death. Best Marc W.Siegel.

@@MrMarcSiegel Hello Sir ! Hello, this is out of topic so excuse me, I just did read that in case we do not have some at hand, we can use "paper coffee filters" as a non woven fabrics - to clean screens, or parts to be glued dust free, or even to get rid of the flux without leaving small pieces of fiber. It may be probably OK, then I though that we have plenty of facial masks at hand those days, and they seem to me made out of non fiber material too. Did you heard of that ? Using them in place of the special fabrics for electronics cleaning ? Best regards ANd (!) BTW do you heard of using heat (or Heat plus a cold spray ) to straighten up damaged pjone or laptop cases or chassis (twisted, bowed, smashed) ? As it works somehow for cars body (plastic and metal BTW, having their "memory" ) I am about to try before installing a new screen on a cheap telephone xiaomi, that seems to get a bycicle passing on it ;) ever heard of such process to help straightening ? Thanks

Marc, i like your work very much, PACE is still the best for me. Here in Germany unfortunatly is is more difficult to find spares for me. I won´t miss my SX 80, PS90 and my new ADS200. Unfortunatly my vacuum pump in the ST115 is broke..i hesitate to install a china membran pump..

This is the best video on soldering I ever watched. Where can you get those tools? How much do they cost? Which flux was used? Which solder, solder paste?

Excellent work. You do have a lot of patience for this type work. Very clear, concise explanations on every work piece. These techniques used for soldering smd are helpful and will be put to use . I am curious as what type of no clean flux is being used here. It looks to me it works well with Solder being used. I assume the solder is 8 ml in size and without resin core. Would there be a problem mixing the both. Again your a true professional and enjoyed you sharing this information. Canada.

only if it was that easy in the real life where every pin had the same amount of trace. but I want let you know that I have learned much from you the first time I watched you. now I feel I know a bit more. so I am back to learn more. though, I know now due to different trace size not all pins are ready to be removed from the board, but the real reason that I am back is because I just purchased my PPS 400. so, now I am on the mission to complete my PRC2000 sys. wowwwwwwwwhahahahaha
